I pretty much never draw baby phos so I wanted to give it a try

... but oh my god I forgot how hard they are to draw

Here is the speedpaint and when I realised "okay yeah this style isn't for me"

Feat: Arxes forgetting their own style... and taking 7 hours to complete a mid drawing

This is so real and true and me too dude

land of the lustrous is one of those things that once you read it youre never the same

I accidentally made my adhd brain think too much about land of the lustrous, and now I can feel the hyperfixation coming back....

I am feeling the urge to re read the manga....

Since I am new to tumblr I thought I might aswell try out different things

So this is going to be my first little story post about a headcanon I have featuring Antarc and Phos

If you have the energy to read through the entire thing, I would love feedback!

Breaking

The fragile gems, they always knew it would happen if they just so bumped into someone else.

Having to visit Rutile just one more time that day, the overworked gem giving them the same look each time.

The lack of sleep showed in the doctors sluggish movements aswell as the tired eyes.

Each and every time, the fragile gems got the blame.

"You have to be more careful" or "you should watch where you are going"

But in the winter, it was different.

Atleast it sure felt different for Phosphophyllite.

This time instead of the red, tired eyes of Rutile looking at their broken body, it was the clear eyes of a fellow fragile gem.

Antarcticite spoke, voice soft.

"I'm sorry, again this is my fault"

It is always so suprising how fast they apologize, Phos themselves would never... well almost never. Now that they sat and thought about it maybe that was a reason why others were never by their side. But Antarc apologizing so quickly even for something so common as Phosphophyllite breaking felt weird.

Expecially after others had kept on blaming it on them, saying that they should be the one who watches out.

Maybe it was the fact they were both fragile?

Leaving the thought behind Phosphophyllite quickly answered, acting grumpy. Exactly the same as the last few times similar things happened.

"Mhm, of coure it is!"

The bluish green gem pouted, turning their head to the side and crossing what was left of their forearm with the unbroken other one.

"You always rush ahead! Leaving me to chase after you, i'm not used to this lack of sun yet! You arent thinking enough about what could happen if i were to fall"

Listening silently to Phosphophyllites complaining, Antarcticite slathered on the glue needed to attach back the broken off part of the others arm.

With as soft of a touch as possible the white gem put the uneven surfaces of the arms together. Holding it together carefully applying just the right amount of pressure for the inclusions in the parts to settle together again.

How could a gem so strong, know exactly how much pressure to use for such a thing?

It was always shocking how good the white gemstone was at patching them together again.

"I know, as i said I am sorry. I havent worked with a partner before. Expecially not one so similar to my own fragility"

Slowly removing their grip on the reattached arm, they continued speaking.

"But, i cannot have you giving up. Youre my responsibility now, and i'll do what I can to get your courage up to what it needs to be"

Courage again... Phos had noticed it kept coming up, having courage.

First step of that might be trying something new? Expecially with the gentle hands of the gem they had grown so attached to.

"So hold my hand? While we are out i mean... so you wont get too far away from me. It can be like... motivation... or something"

So that was how Phosphophyllite and Antarcticite ended up with their hands clutched together the next time they went out.

And the time after that.

Until it became a regular thing, even while working at different places. During the walk back their fingers would intertwine, as they slowly walked back in silence.

It was hard looking into Rutiles eyes the next summer.

Maybe because their own were equally as tired, or maybe because they missed the clear ones.

Their eyes never once looked into the red eyes of the doctor again. Scared to unintentionally compare the scenes.

Rutiles sluggish movements were so different to the precise ones of the white gem. Their touch much rougher as they quickly reattached any broken part. Compared to the way Antarc carefully, softly and gently fixed them up.

It made them miss Antarc even more.

Yet Phosphophyllite had no memory of the last time they clutched hands with the gentle ones of the white gem.

Maybe it was for the better.

I used to have so many land of the lustrous theories and headcanons that I can still go on for hours about so many of them

Expecially about different characters thoughts about eachother. Like that is the best part of series like this to theorize about in my opinion.

Do I think Cairngorm really never loved Phos?

No I think that during phosphophyllites coma after they attached the Lapis lazuli head, during the time that they were alone. They couldn't help but grow resentment towards Phosphophyllite and their actions.

Before that I think Cairngorm was truly and genuinely getting attached

I wont go too much into detail because I just needed to get it out, but god I love this manga so much.
