Admittedly, this headcanon popped into my mind while I was working on my own, very self-indulgent fanfic and trying to do some research.

Now I know what tools archaeologists use and how they map excavation sites... but not what they pack up and take with them to the hotel versus what they leave behind for the next day... the exact thing I was trying to figure out.

Apparently, that kind of info isn’t readily available, probably because most people don’t really care about those details.

But I do. I care a lot, damn it.

I am literally OBSESSED with, but also PISSED that the things I grew up with is getting popular, because:

on one hand it's either "retro" and "old" or it's a so-called "brand-new thing that has never been done before"

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND

I get to experience the things I always wanted to as a kid.

One example would be Myspace. It was made back in 2003 (my birth year) and even as I aged I would be too young for social media. Now there is a website called SpaceHey which is a project that pays homage to Myspace. I MEAN JUST LOOK AT IT:

Finally made Katsudon last night!

We did our best with "American" ingredients since we could not go an Asian market at the time. My mom couldn't get the chopped pork to lay out well on the rice, so apologies if the presentation isn't the best.

We used: Pork Panko Eggs White Rice Spring Onion Soy Sauce Sugar Bouillon (as a substitute for Dashi) White Vinegar (as a substitute for Mirin)

I hope to one day try Katsudon made from a Japanese restaurant so I can compare the flavor of my homemade Katsudon vs Katsudon made with the actual ingredients.

I was reading a manga, liked the lineart so much, searched for brushes on CSP so that when I make my manga my lineart would look more traditional, found a really cool artist and watched their videos for two hours straight, went to close some tabs... and there was the manga that I was only a few pages into.
