Death of a unicorn
This Horror/Dark comedy movie is one of the best horrors I have seen in a few years with perfectly times jump scares and the gruesome deaths that most modern horror films will not fully show. Also the casting is amazing as the dynamic chemistry between Jenna Ortega (Ridley) and Paul Rudd (Elliot) felt like the best match so far.
Now the base line of this story tells the true lore of medieval times when a pure hearted maiden became what the unicorns would trust even when humans would repeatedly kill the unicorns and trap it for evil minded thinking but the other unicorns would seek revenge on those causing harm to the unicorns. Although it is worrying to have this image of unicorns, this lore has been told since the start of time that no matter how pure unicorns are they are also very vengeful when they need to be.
The 'antagonists' are a rich, pharmaceutical family that use the unicorn for its own selfish use even, even when Ridley was telling them the warning signs and even through the tragedies, this family still continued to try and use the unicorn for their selfish reasons. However thankfully receiving their cruel fate.
Even with its comedic and funny ending, I still didn't leave the screen clueless of the message in this story. I do hope that you also understand the message that I won't reveal as its for you to find out. No its not just that uniorns are vengeful there is another message potrayed through the unicorns.
This is another film for Jenna Ortega to agree that they look at her face and say 'lets throw blood on that'. However this blood is a purply-black substance that is definitely different from the rest of the horror films she is in.
It would have been nice to have a couple more unexpected jumpscares when there was two or three that could feel very much expected due to the prolonged waiting time of suspence, but also a trick jumpscare which I did like.
I rate this a 4 out of 5.

A Minecraft Movie Review
Now before I went into this I did think that the casting was random as you would not expect the actors to be in this cast, but looking on to it the casting shows that the casting is to show that there is not only different characters for the game, how ever it also shows how personalised our Minecraft characters. The different personalities also show the different types of gamers from being a natural builder, natural fighter, the thinker or just the one that's not the best at what they think they are and need to learn what they are good at.
In this story we see the typical good guys fight the bad guy, however this differs in sense of it explains different backstories and informs us on different things with in the game, such as answers to the Woodland mansion. Now even though this is known information for the Minecrafters that have been playing for many years, it is helpful to the newcomers of the 2009 Mojang game. Although it was amazing to see the story of our antagonist, Malgosha (Rachel House) and how she came about to be the Queen of the Piglins in the netherworld. Not only does this have a somewhat comedic backstory for the film but also makes us feel some sympathy towards her. However no matter how 'selfish' or 'evil' a character is in this film you will always feel sympathy and a comedic connection to them, making this one of the funniest 2025 movies to have been released… as long as you understand the references.
I do love the Techno blade mention, not only did they say he was a king but said he was a legend. Which every fan that saw him from when he started out till his final days know how much of a legend he is. May he rest in peace. I love that they kept his memory in the game.
Although the viewers in my screening confirmed that people do really clap at cinemas, meaning certain references or when Steve (Jack Black) and Garrett (Jason Mamoa) would sing, now I am a huge Minecraft fan meaning I was happy to see this film it did cause me to lose a few things on what was said when there would be extended periods of applause in the screening. I would have also liked to have seen the 'you died.. respawn' screen at a random point even if it was when we was first introduced to Steve in the overworld as this would seem like a good time to trick the audience into thinking its now ended but then he wakes up on a bed, just that frustration all minecrafters experience especially when you have 10 diamonds and 7 emeralds in your pocket.
Last comment Jennifer Coolidge character, vice principal Marlene, does in fact keep in the same running style of her characters having a silly and out of pocket character personalities
Also does the Alex sighting hint to a second Minecraft movie coming soon?
Overall I rate this 4 out of 5 stars as no movie is a 5 star film as there's always little things that could help it, however it was a highly comedic film.

Descendants: The Rise Of Red Movie Review
Being a huge Descendants franchise since the first movie was released back in 2015 nearly 10 years and still being a large fan since, I was hoping for greatness with in the movie. Despite not being sure of how it would feel after the loss of Cameron Boyce (Carlos), I felt happy that they still honoured his memory at the start of the movie as well as mentioning that he passed instead of pretending he was still alive like some film and shows will do.
In the rise of red we explore how Princess Red of Wonderland (Kylie Cantrall), the daughter of the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora) would explore the history in how her mother became the villain we all know and see. We see how time travelling can alter the course of time as well as how one harmless “joke” can change a person's life for the worse. Also, the casting of teenage Fairy Godmother (Grace Narducci) had been extremely well casted compared to looking just like the adult Fairy Godmother (Melanie Paxson)
With an amazing set list of songs, just like every movie, I was able to enjoy the music being performed throughout the film. I also enjoyed how the brough back a reprise of the much beloved song “What’s my name?” performed by Uma (China Anne McClain), the daughter of Ursla. We do however have the typical slow but happy song closing the movie, just like in all of the other three films.
Despite enjoying it I still do not quite understand how every villain kid must wear the typical leather rebel stye outfit, Red's rebel outfit looked like a mix of Mal’s (Dove Cameron) and Evie’s (Sofia Carson) original outfits. It felt strange to see two outfits that looked so similar in style despite them not being from the same location as each other. I do feel as though Reds Villain Kid outfit could have been more played out and better to the style/strictness as the Queen of Heart.
I did enjoy the movie but after finding out there will be a 5th movie I am not sure if I am wanting that, they should have kept it to the trio movie or quad to do what they did and honour Camerons memory. However, the 5th movie may drag out the story longer than what should be done, possibly causing the loss of some fans that have been around since the start of the original movie.
It still doesn’t feel right without the OG 4 especially as they left out of respect to him, it should have been kept that way. We thank you for honouring him, I just feel the story can stop here now.
I rate the movie a 3 out of 5. Thank you

Hunger Games: The ballad of the songbirds and snakes.
So I'm guessing that all these amazing movies was being held back till the end of the actor strike cause Hollywood has done it again. Now I am not the biggest fan of the hunger games, though I have watched all the movies and read the books, this is a film of the series I will watch time and time again. This film engulfs the truth of the world, especially after wars, betrayal, love, hate, and the fight of survival.
I went into this film expecting to feel entertained but not that much due to not being a large fan of the series, yet I came out shell shocked. I love how this is set before the other movies are set showing how the hunger games became what we saw on the 74th annual with Katniss. It shows how even those deemed the 'weakest' can come out on top as it's not always popularity its how you decide to act. Lucy was seen as a weak song bird just cause she loved to sing but showed so much quick wittiness on how she decided she would survived bits of help (it's expected as she is the main character, we hardly ever see the main die), but she even went against a couple things she was told to do to survive, Lucy still wanted to follow her heart as well.
As we watch the movie we see how even those deemed the richest hide secrets which can always be used to help those they thing need it, yet the truth always comes out in the end. Yet Snow's secret never fully came out, Sow still came out on top. Even through the betrayal and heartbreak he encountered. He never gave up, just like how Lucy came out on top too.
I unfortunately missed about 5 minutes of the film due to a coughing fit, yet even with those 5 minutes being missed I still loved this movie. Sitting on the edge of my seat, wanting to cry and being moved by the beautiful music through out the song. I will say along side The barbie movie this has to be one of the best movies of the year, maybe even tied movie of the year. There was never a dull moment in this film and I highly wish others get a chance to see it, and enjoy it like I did.
Despite of how much I loved it I can never rate a film 5 stars as all films can have some improvement. So I rate this film 4.5/5 stars, and hope you feel the same too.

The Marvels Movie review
The only reason I can think of the marvels being low in the box office is they people that don't like to see women absoletly rule a marvel film, or the 'fans' that don't like when a marvel movie follows the comics, or the one comic they have read, so think all marvel movies will follow that one marvel comic. Yet the movie was absolutley amazing, with Nicks sarcastic antics in the most silliest of times, and the action packed in to this film. I see this as one of the best marvel films to be released this year.
I was so happy to see the three marvels, aka Captin Marvel, Photon and Ms.Marvel all together. Definitley a trio, I didn't know I needed to see yet I adored. Also Kamala's constant fangirling through out the film representing every fan of Carol Danvers in her beauty. As well as Carol representing every cat lover in one sentence towards the end. To be topped off with Maria's sarcasm and bluntness. Then all three have moments where it was close to making me cry. Even though I did cry at one point.
I would also love to comment on Kamalas family of complete chaos and just comedic timings of comments making the whole film a moment of not knowing whether to laugh or be on the edge of your seat, when in fact it should be both. I believe this film should not have been a flop in the box office, yet some people don't like it when marvel films follow a comic or have women as the main story kicking but, unless it was black widow. What a world we live in, right?
I rate this movie 4.25/5, after all no movie is 5 stars.

Dumb Money movie review

This review is delayed, by almost a month after its release date. Yet it is better to be late then never, especially as a now review can still be beneficial to some who are waiting for it to come to a online streaming service.
Now, dumb money is based on a true story of the 2021 game stop short squeeze. This was led by Keith Gill, at the time he was a stock market reddit senstion that inspired many people to also invest in the game stop company. As the film starts we see the peek of the stock moment, where the billonares was becoming threatened yet Keith was only becoming a millioniare. At the start we have wap by Cardi B playing which makes the moment being shown more funnier, as well as having a sex joke in the first 5 minutes of the film just before the movie name came onto screen.
After the movie name screen was shown, we are taken back six months to where we see one of Keiths friends labelling the idea of him investing in the stock market as dumb. Yet as it progresses we learn the pros and the cons of how investing in the stock market can be. Especially for both sides of Billionares and working class. How its in away to earn easy money, yet the more you buy stocks the more addicting it can become.
Even in Keiths case he shared his investing with the world, on reddit and on youtube, which led to a court case of him being fined 4 million for violation of the massachusetts rules. Which he mentions he did not violate, and it is found that he stayed investing after the case, only becoming richer. Yet the billionares involved such as Vlad Tenev, Kenneth Griffin, Gabe Plotkin and Baiju Bhatt, lost billionares both before and after the court case, becoming sued for bailing each other out.
Overall, this film teaches a great deal in stock market investing, just like the wolf of wall street did (also based on a true film), as well as showing the down falls and greatness of investing. The film also shows alot of tiktok based nostalgia from the era of 2020/2021 and its trends. Despite its comical humour and the sexual jokes. The story of this movie is educational to watch without becoming bored.
Over all I rate this movie a 4.1 out of 5.

Cobweb Movie review
I sure did expect it to be good, as the trailer did infact look good. How ever I was quickly lied to. Cobweb was marked as a horror/thriller, however I mark it as a thriller/mystery.
As the film starts we begin by seeing the main character, depressed. Now from the start, the movie is not happy. We see the mother and we know instantly something is not right with the child family. Which is usually potrayed later on in horror films. As the movie progress we begin to figure out what the monster is and how it is linked to the family. Yes there is a small bit of trickery, yet we are still able to know with in 30 minutes of the films start.
Now at this point the movie is showing it is more like a mystery as it's "jumpscare's" became predictible and they were also trick ones, which I will give props too. Even when you thought one character was going to be killed the writter played with our minds only for them to survive. When we get closer to the end, the deaths that happen all together at the end of the movie, are not "jumpscares" as once again, each jumpscare is predictible.
I don't agree that many character deaths should occur at the end of the movie and instead should have some sort of spread through out. I think what makes this horror is for the fact we do see blood and a few gory corpses, which was not that freaky unless your not a fan of gore.
I did infact laugh at some parts of the movie that was ment to be scary, but I could have already seen coming. Especially as the build up to a few jumpscares in particular was held for too long, no longer making the moment scary.
As for the ending, it had a low quality ending as a moment that happened ten minutes prior would have made a better ending then what we was shown. I think the movie is ment to be a sequal going by how it ends, how ever the ending 10 minutes prior would have made the better ending cause we would have had to think about what happened to the character, instead we are told 30 seconds after what we thought was the ending. Making the actual ending boring and predictible.
I will say this movie is not for those with arachnophobia or emetophobia, as we are able to see both. I rate this movie 2 out of 5 stars.
