⋆ ࣪ ⊹ 10 • Reckless
— Lauren Roberts
Finally the exams are over and I can write a review
I was glad to be back in this universe, to these characters. Especially during the difficult period of exams, reading the book I could relax and get into another world without my problems.
I think the second part was not as action packed as the first part where there were trials and survival games, and the second part was more like an adventure/travel, but there were still a lot of interesting and exciting moments. And of course the cute and romantic ones between Pae and Kai.
I suspected what plot twist was going to happen at the end, but I don't fully understand the whole plot yet, but I think the next part will explain everything.
Overall I enjoyed the book and it helped me distract myself and relax during a difficult time. And now I really want to read part 3. (but it's only available in hardcover at the moment, and I have the first two parts in paperback😓)

well, a couple of days ago I defended my thesis with an excellent result and became a bachelor!
but everything can't be so simple and I was warned that my points for the written exam may not be enough to enter the master's program, so I was very upset and cried after the defense. and also on that day my grandmother had bad analyzes((
but now everything seems to be fine, my grandmother was checked at the hospital and there is nothing urgent, and I was told to wait for the official results of my master's program
so now summer has started for me and for the last couple days my mom and I have been going to the pool outdoors and I started reading a new book

on tuesday at physics in nature colloquium of course I got a question that I knew the worst and I need to retake it
yesterday first in the morning I took an english test, then got a C on the solar system exam, and after that I celebrated with my mom her birthday
today I have to write an essay on plants and study for next week's exams because they are going to be in a row again

may 14 | wednesday
my body seems to have shut off some kind of autopilot when I handed in my thesis, and today I don't feel very well, like I'm on the verge of illness😓 (which is not good because I have 4 exams in a row next week and I have to prepare).
so I didn't go to the class today and rested at home. I also went to the store with my mom and bought lavender.
because of that I got inspired by plants and took care of my plants tonight:
planted lavender and chamomile that my mom gave me for my birthday.
cleaned the violets of spider mites and trimmed them.
cut the withered leaves off the hyacinths.
removed the withered leaves from the basil and put a self-waterer in it.
cleaned the windowsill and put all the plants on it

may 5 | monday
I spent the whole day trying to figure out the evolutionary tracks of stars and ended up staying in the library for a long time because of it.
at first, I had no idea where or how to download them, then the tracks didn’t fit my data, and I started to panic because there’s not much time left before I have to submit my thesis. but in the end, I managed to find tracks that work with my data and I finally felt relieved.
also, I figured out how to use the printer in the library by myself, so now I can print from my own laptop instead of the university computers. I printed my poster and hung it up by my desk to keep me inspired✨

⋆ ࣪ ⊹ 9 • Love, Theoretically
— Ali Hazelwood
I’ve wanted to read Ali Hazelwood’s books for a long time because she doesn’t just write regular romances, she writes stem romances about scientists and science.
The book is easy to read, and it pulled me in right from the beginning. I especially liked it when something about physics was mentioned and I actually understood it. It felt nice to read about my major not just in a study or a popular science book, but in a novel.
I liked how Elsie and Jack’s relationship developed gradually, first they got to know each other better and spent time together. It felt natural. And the way Jack takes care of her, and how they helped each other become better. It was really sweet 🥹
The only thing, near the end, when the spice scenes started, I didn’t fully understand the characters, their thoughts and actions, but I guess spice just isn’t really my thing. But there weren’t too many of those moments, and they didn’t ruin the impression.
Overall I enjoyed the book and now I want to read more of Ali’s stem romances.

april 29 | tuesday
spend almost the whole day programming
first, I worked on color diagrams for my thesis. then, in our programming class, we made this cute picture of a cat
in the physics in nature class, we talked about light and teacher showed us some cool experiments
and after that, I went to the square where they were showing the hockey playoff final and our city’s team won! 🥳

april 28 | monday
I was really proud of myself, because I went to two meetings without planning them in advance
first, I met with my supervisor. it turned out I had been analyzing the data incorrectly, and it’s actually much simpler than I thought
then I went to talk to the advisor about the czech language certificate for applying to a master’s program. in the end, everything’s fine and I don’t need the certificate. now the main thing is to pass my exams well so I won’t have to take an additional entrance exam for the master’s program
and also, they gave us turkish tea at the last lesson 🥰☕️

april 27 | sunday
in the morning, I worked a little on the code for my thesis. I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly, but I hope it will turn out right.
after that, my mom and I went for a walk in the park near the castle, where the lilacs have recently bloomed, and it was very beautiful.

april 24 | thursday
today was a very eventful and unusual day…
in the morning, I went to ballet class and then read a little outside.
after that, I studied for my exams at the library, was going over electrostatics and maxwell’s equations (though I haven’t managed to cover everything yet).
during the last class, we did experiments on instabilities, and it looked really beautiful.
and it turned out that today there was a physics students’ party of our faculty and surprisingly, I actually decided to go…
it’s just not really my thing, and at first I was very unsure, but they convinced me that it’s a good opportunity to make useful connections or ask older students for advice or maybe just have fun with drunk physicists.
I even messaged a classmate, and he came too. in the end, it was pretty fun, I’m super tired now, but I tried something new and unusual for me.
and the classmate and I even agreed to play board games together tomorrow.
so much happened that my brain still can’t process it all 😅

well, I kind of disappeared after the exam session, but I want to try to come back here. a lot has happened during this time, but here are the main and most recent updates:
I’m in the final semester of my bachelor’s degree, so right now I’m working on my thesis and preparing for an exam that covers all areas of physics.
yesterday, I presented a presentation I had worked on for a very long time and with great effort and my scientific poster won.
unfortunately, I kind of stopped doing figure skating and working out for a while, but I’m trying to get into the habit of going to the gym regularly again and recently I messaged my figure skating coach.
so far this year, I’ve read 8/30 books and started posting reviews of them, so I think I’ll share them here too.
currently reading: Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood.
Just wanted to share a little update, hoping to come back and post here more often.
