I have struggled with anxiety from my earliest memories because my first memories are based in medical trauma. It has taken me almost 30 years to build a big enough tool box of coping skills to help me self-soothe. Within the last six months or so, I have come to learn more about my battles with sensory and within that search, sensory toys. At any given moment, I likely have several on my person. This self-soothing experience today was brought to me by @hudsonyards and it was a pleasant surprise. Shortly before this, I mellowed out using a Skittlz @pridewellnessla cart. I seriously find this too funny, but probably because for every perfect shot you see in general, there’s at least one of these beforehand. Routine. Routines are a privilege because it means there’s consistency in your life. The theory behind a routine is to continue to do the same habits and tasks over and over out of need and/or desire. Some are long, some in pieces, and some super simple. Some make us feel good and others save our lives. We all have motivators or things to keep us going. When all is said and done, I do appreciate the spontaneity which my life brings, but it can often leave me feeling without any control. Having a routine for the morning and evening is CRUCIAL to my getting into, on-top of, through, and even over a day. It helps me manage my anxiety and depression, as well as an overall feeling of fulfillment. This is the first time I flew home with my @teamvapexhale #EVO and I completely undervalued how much it enhanced my routine, which is saying something because if you follow me, you know I’m obsessed with my lifesaving #EVO, BUT this has me at a new level. I’m so grateful to @seibohanu and @foodgodz for creating a device which I could create a life-altering routine around.
