Sometimes you write a line and just sit there like “did I do that??” You know the one. The kind of line that makes you pause. Read it twice. Feel like a god for five whole seconds.

Save that line. Highlight it. Frame it in your brain. You wrote that. You’ll write more like it.

Plotting it in the shower? Writing. Dramatizing scenes in your head at 2am? Writing. Pacing the kitchen in full existential crisis? WRITING.

Progress isn’t always on the page. But it’s still happening.

A bit late, because I was originally thinking I'll do a big thank you and special post when I get 25 but I opened my tumblr this morning and saw 28- so thank you all so so much. This really means a lot :)

Sorta hard to believe that there's that many people interested in reading the random writing-related nonsense I'm putting out there.

😭 😭 I just got a super cool idea that idk how I didn’t think of before

I was just talking to a friend about some of my characters and it just clicked- totally unrelated but it’s such a cool idea-

If I end up going with it I’ll let yall know

A little hint is it’s an idea for a character to have a sibling…

You don't need a reason why you want to write this story. It's in your head. So write it. Share it with the world, share it with no one but your closest friends, or nobody at all.

Write for you.

Write the scene you want to write, even if it's not next.

Jump to the kiss, the argument, the line that's been in your mind for three weeks.

The rest will come with time. Write what you want. It's YOUR story, after all.

Big emotions? YES. Unhinged speeches? ABSOLUTELY. That one line that feels like a dagger to the chest? WRITE IT.

You’re allowed to love what you wrote. Even if it's messy. Even if it’s unfinished. Even if you only love parts of it right now.

That love is what keeps you writing.
