as you may have gathered by now, i am not a native english speaker (nor do i ever plan to be), but due to exposure (thanks internet) i have now gotten quite used to these americanisms that pop up everywhere. they are easy enough to understand once i see the pattern, but sometimes, i'm completely wrong in assuming they're americanisms. sometimes they're just words. which brings me to my point:

"ineffable" does not mean "unfuckable", apparently.

thanks to Aziraphale (you know that angel always dressed in white from Good Omens?), because i realised he would never use such rude language, and i googled the word.

in case you were wondering, it means "too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words." which is ironic, because isn't ineffable a word you just used to describe The Great Plan with, which makes it describable, Aziraphale?

you know the train scene, where loki is drunk and he sings? first, he sings in english, and then he starts singing a different song, which, according to the captions, was in asgardian. it was not. the song was in norwegian. i would know, because i speak the language fluently.

tom hiddleston honestly did a great job. his norwegian was a little broken at times, but i could understand it perfectly fine, except when he sang in a lower volume. his accent i would say reminds me of the one they have in the south-west of norway. pretty cool.

if you don't speak norwegian and you're wondering what the song means:

me and my sister have watched free rein. all three seasons, thirty episodes and how many minutes? over nine hundred according to my poor, but quick math. and we did it in a week! (we haven't watched the two specials, though.) while that might not sound impressive to you, we've impressed ourselves.

gosh, we've wasted so much time. the show was actually better than i thought it would be, but my expectations weren't exactly through the roof. it was fun to see that my predictions were right (about pin and zoe).

i'm looking forward to seeing freddy carter in other roles that are kaz-ish or un-kaz-ish, doesn't really matter. i don't think i'll ever get used to seeing him smile, though.

pin has mood swings like a kid who just hit puberty. one second he's really offended because zoe called him a thief and got him arrested (tbf i would also be really offended if that happened to me), and the next, when zoe apologises (several times), he takes her on a ride to the beach (what did i say? he's going to fall in love with her).

and he smiles.

i feel so weird when he smiles because i associate freddy carter's face with kaz brekker, and kaz brekker never smiles, therefore pin (hawthorne, isn't that his last name?) should never smile either (the logic of my brain is exceptional, yeah?). it's a little creepy when pin shows his feelings because kaz rarely does. do you know what i mean?

so me and my little sister were trying to find something to watch, something child-friendly and not overly dramatic. we find free rein and are like "okay, this looks cliché, but we'll try it because it's british."

we start watching and i find out that freddy carter is a part of the cast. my first thought was "okay, it'll be fun to see him in a different type of role than in shadow and bone."

we watch a little more, and then the main character, zoe, meets pin, the guy freddy is playing. and let me tell you, pin looked edgy. he looked like he needed some sleep. he looked like kaz brekker if kaz brekker were back at the farm where he grew up, forced to work there. he did not look like the nice, horse obsessed boy i thought he would be.

but damn, even though the show is for kids, and, let's face it, is pretty crappy when it comes to stereotypes (mia, the rich bitch, kaz, uhm, i mean pin, the moody boy who falls in love with the good girl aka our main girl zoe (aka inej but without the wraith skills jk) (it hasn't happened yet, but i think it will), and of course, the "obligatory stupid" character, becky), i want to keep watching to see what happens.

that is it, right? i feel certain that it will happen. why, you ask? well, i would say it is obvious; he is innocent, shy and kind. he wants only good things to happen to his friends. of course he will die!
