Veil of Shadows - Featuring Sherlock Holmes & The Golden Age Sandman (FanFic)
Tumblr media
Title: "Veil of Shadows"
Chapter 1: The Fog of New York
The year was 1934, and New York City was no stranger to mystery or the macabre. Beneath its glittering skyline, the city's underbelly churned with crime, secrets, and shadows. In a world where heroes wore masks, and villains were more than just figments of the night, one man stood as a symbol of relentless justice: The Sandman, Wesley Dodds. Dressed in his iconic gas mask and fedora, his presence was as eerie as the dreams he interpreted, haunting those who committed evil.
On this evening, Wesley stood at the foot of the Queensboro Bridge, his eyes locked on the murky waters of the East River. His latest vision—fragmented images of blood, a looming shadow, and a figure with a blade—had been haunting him for nights. There was something disturbingly familiar about the sensation that clung to his waking hours. He inhaled sharply, feeling the creeping tension of a mystery yet untold.
But tonight, he wasn’t alone.
Beside him, impeccably dressed in a tweed suit that seemed to belong to another time, stood Sherlock Holmes. The world’s greatest detective, somehow alive and well in the 20th century, his ageless eyes scanning the same horizon. Wesley had always been skeptical of the stories. Sherlock Holmes was a legend, a figure of Victorian lore—yet here he was, as real as the city around them.
“I see the same fog hangs over your mind as it does this city, Mr. Dodds,” Holmes said in a crisp tone, his voice carrying the weight of years of deduction and insight. “But this fog is no natural occurrence. It clouds the truth, obscuring a darkness that has yet to fully reveal itself.”
Wesley nodded, feeling a strange kinship with this man who, like him, had dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice. Their paths had crossed only a few days ago, when whispers in the criminal underworld hinted at a killer moving through the city. But this killer wasn't just anyone.
It was Jack the Ripper.
Chapter 2: An Ageless Terror
The first murder had been dismissed by the police as the act of a crazed copycat. A young woman found disemboweled in an alleyway in Harlem, her body mutilated in ways that echoed the infamous Ripper murders of London in 1888. But Wesley knew better. He had seen the nightmare that had clung to her final moments—a shadowy figure with a knife, moving with purpose and precision. A figure that wasn’t bound by time.
That was when Holmes had appeared in his life. The detective, seemingly unaffected by the passage of time, had followed the Ripper’s trail across continents and decades, always one step behind. He had uncovered clues suggesting that the Ripper was more than a mere man. Something about the Ripper had transcended mortality, as if the evil that fueled him had granted him eternal life.
“I pursued him to America in 1890,” Holmes explained as they walked the darkened streets of Manhattan, the gaslights casting long shadows against the brick walls. “But he vanished into the ether. I suspected then that he had some means of traveling undetected, hiding within the currents of history itself.”
Wesley’s mind was racing. Could it be that the Ripper had been moving through time, committing murders in different eras, always eluding capture? And now he was here, in 1930s New York, drawn by the city’s pulsating life and its endless supply of potential victims.
“The clues are already in place,” Holmes continued, his eyes gleaming with the thrill of the hunt. “We must act quickly. This killer will not stop unless we stop him.”
Wesley tightened his grip on the gas gun hidden beneath his coat. "I’ve seen him in my dreams, Holmes. He’s different now. More calculating. More… vicious."
"Time has only sharpened his methods," Holmes said grimly. "And we will need every ounce of wit and skill to stop him before he strikes again."
Chapter 3: A Web of Nightmares
They had been following the trail for weeks now, chasing the Ripper through the labyrinthine streets of New York. Each new victim brought them closer, but also revealed the killer's increasing boldness. The Ripper was toying with them, leaving clues in the form of cryptic letters and strange symbols drawn in blood.
It was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where the final piece of the puzzle began to fall into place. A recent exhibit had drawn in historical artifacts from London, including some that dated back to the time of the Ripper. One of these items, a ceremonial dagger, had caught the attention of both Dodds and Holmes. The dagger bore the same symbols that had been found near the latest murder scenes.
"This isn’t just a man we’re dealing with," Wesley said as they examined the weapon. "It’s something far older, far darker."
Holmes' expression remained stoic, though his eyes betrayed a rare flicker of uncertainty. "Indeed, Mr. Dodds. The Ripper has always been more than a man. He is a symbol, an embodiment of chaos and fear. And symbols, as you well know, are far harder to kill than flesh and blood."
As they prepared for their final confrontation, Wesley couldn’t shake the feeling that this night would be unlike any other. He had faced criminals, thugs, and even the supernatural before, but the Ripper was something else. Something ancient and malevolent. Something that, perhaps, even the combined forces of his and Holmes’ brilliance couldn’t fully comprehend.
But they had no choice. The hunt had to end tonight.
Chapter 4: The Final Curtain
In the shadow of the Empire State Building, they finally cornered the Ripper. The air was thick with tension as Holmes and Wesley approached the figure standing under the dim glow of a streetlamp, his back turned to them. The Ripper’s presence was palpable, a dark cloud of menace that seemed to warp the very fabric of reality around him.
Holmes stepped forward, his voice calm but commanding. “It’s over, Ripper. You have no more places to hide.”
Slowly, the figure turned, revealing a face that was both familiar and strange. His eyes were cold, devoid of humanity, and his smile was twisted into something that resembled a sneer. "You think you can stop me? After all these years?" The voice was a low rasp, filled with malice.
Wesley’s hand hovered over his gas gun. "I’ve seen what you do, Ripper. You won’t walk away from this."
The Ripper chuckled, the sound echoing unnaturally in the empty street. "I am more than a man. I am the fear in the hearts of every city, every time. You can no more stop me than you can stop the night itself."
Holmes was unphased, his eyes narrowing in determination. "Every mystery has its solution, Ripper. And you, like all others, will fall to logic and reason."
The final battle was swift and brutal. The Ripper moved with inhuman speed, his blade flashing in the dim light, but Wesley and Holmes fought with a synergy born of mutual respect. Wesley’s gas cloud disoriented the Ripper, slowing his movements, while Holmes’ precise strikes disabled him. In the end, it was Wesley’s knowledge of dreams and nightmares that gave them the upper hand. He had seen this moment in his visions, and he knew the Ripper's weakness—his overconfidence.
With a final, desperate blow, the Ripper fell, his body dissolving into the same shadows from which he had emerged. The nightmare was over.
But as Wesley and Holmes stood in the quiet aftermath, they knew that evil never truly died. It merely waited.
Epilogue: Shadows of Tomorrow
A week had passed since the Ripper’s defeat, but neither Wesley nor Holmes could shake the feeling that something lingered in the air. New York had returned to its usual chaos, but the city's heartbeat seemed slower, more subdued. The Ripper was gone, but the shadows remained.
Holmes, ever the wanderer, prepared to leave once more, his quest for truth never truly finished. Wesley watched him from the shadows, knowing that their paths would cross again. In a city like New York, where dreams and nightmares collided, there would always be another mystery, another danger lurking just out of sight.
And as long as men like Wesley Dodds and Sherlock Holmes walked the streets, justice would always find a way to rise from the darkness.
End.

There is Lucifer (commonly called 'The Devil') and his hosts of Fallen Angels ('demons') who cause havoc and destruction in this world. If you know what to look for (as explained in Revelations) you see those forces on the move in a massive way globally and domestically today. The current Marxists that make up the leadership and mid levels (Hollywood, Academia, Culture Influencers) of the Democrat Party have wholly embraced the demonic teachings and are actively possessed by those 'demons' mentioned!.
Demonic possession doesn't mean one is totally insane and frothing at the mouth as we see on occasion in the Bible but rather is a freely selling of yourself to the teachings of Lucifer. Examples would be the Marxist Left's radical infatuation with 'climate change' and 'abortion', all of which are religions in themselves. To those of us with the vision to see this evil and call it out, those extremes are no more than the pagan practices of sky worship and human sacrifice which are not new but rather as old as mankind itself!
Yes, the Marxists in the Democrat Party have sold their souls and every policy they support promotes those evils in one form or another! Not only are card carrying members of that group possessed but you see many people (like the Cheneys and Bushs) now willing to embrace evil and it is a clear choice on their parts. Cheney talks about 'conservatism' in this interview repeatedly and it is clear her perverted version is different than that of the late Ronald Reagan. My hope is after President Trump leaves the world stage that the Right follows the America First ideology and remembers these RINOs made a deal with Lucifer!

It didn't take a rocket scientist to know back in 2020 this was going to happen! The Democratic-Marxists were very clear with what they were going to do. Cleverly though, they lied about or ignored to tell the outcomes.
The "Green New Deal" was their communist road map!
Killing the petrol industry (as they said they would) was going to inflate the cost all goods and services. Illegal Immigration was going to spark crime, burden local budgets and cause an existing housing crisis to get worse. Spending like drunken sailors on every whim the Marxists wanted caused things to inflate as well!
That was what we knew in 2020, what we know in 2024 is they are only getting started with their plans!

Most likely Liz Cheney will be out of office in the next Congress as she will lose the primary or enough Republicans will vote for the Democrat in the general election just to get rid of her.
That will give her about a year, until January 2024, to raise money and get a ground game together. She will have plenty of funding from the RINO mega-donors and full access to establishment resources.
All she needs to do is go the 'Cruz route' and secure enough delegates to keep President Trump from getting the delegate number he needs to win which would trigger a brokered convention!
Or...she could hold out until the Republican Convention and stir up trouble in hopes of getting the nomination through some shady methods.
Will it work? Probably not, but there is a path for her to follow!

Schiff-for-Brains wants the DOJ to criminally prosecute people for not responding to political subpoenas?
I suspect this DOJ will but that sets a dangerous precedent for Democrats because if the Republicans take back the House this Marxist DOJ will have to do the same thing, or a court will.
I don’t support these people ignoring the subpoenas. They need to show up to the hearings so the cameras can see them, with lawyers in tow. Then they need to make statements and plead the 5A right afterwards.
This is basically invoking the ‘Lois Lerner Defense’ which the Marxist-Democrats wholeheartedly supported!
Another strategy is to tie up the legality of the subpoenas in federal court and run the clock out until the 2022 election season is upon us!

This was the genius of our Founding Fathers-
They knew, 400 years ago, that this would happen. The federal government would use the legal system as a weapon against the citizens. The Founders were determined not repeat the tyranny of Great Britain here in America.
Those foresighted patriots designed the 5th Amendment for this reason!
These people need to show up in Congress and plead the 5A and be done with it. There is nothing criminal about using their civil rights as none of those targets have been given immunity.
If only Roger Stone had taken this advice!
