If it weren't for PIDW stallion logic no way would Ning Yingying be the only girl on Qing Jing. Because you cannot tell me Shen Jiu, the world's premier Militant Male Misandrist wouldn't select mostly female disciples to join the sect. The thought of creating even more men in power makes him SICK.

This is really complicated but in the end I feel like Lan Wangji wouldn't fall in love with Mo Xuanyu (or at least he wouldn't allow himself to).
First off, we don't have any concrete scenes of Mo Xuanyu to see his actual personality. The first few mentions of Mo Xuanyu's personality are from the Mo family, specifically Mo Ziyuan (MXY's cousin), someone who clearly looks down on Mo Xuanyu and is jealous of the fact that Mo Xuanyu got to go to a Cultivation Clan like the Lanling Jins. Clearly biased. The next one not from the Mo Family is Jin Ling, someone who is also clearly already against Mo Xuanyu due to the rumours and scandal back at the Lanling Jin Clan.
The few people who talk openly about Mo Xuanyu (and not in the context that Wei Wuxian literally took over his body) only mention how Mo Xuanyu was a lunatic. We at many times see how characters' intentions are warped by the general public and others, so while it's our only information about him, it's also not necessarily our most reliable about him.
A major past about why Wei Wuxian was able to act the way he was in Mo Xuanyu's body was because Mo Xuanyu's reputation was already in the dumps.
This leads me back to Lan Wangji. There is only one real point in the story where they could meet in my perspective: They meet at Golden Carp Tower before Mo Xuanyu gets kicked out.
Mo Xuanyu was a recognised son of Jin Guangshan, meaning that increases the chances of perhaps him being at a conference (even if he might be ostracised), however we also know that Lan Wangji had to stay in Cloud Recesses due to his punishment of 33 whips, so Lan Wangji would be unable to go. Even if Lan Wangji went to one, Lan Wangji doesn't show himself to be the type of person to actively go and talk to complete strangers unless he has a reason, so yet again unlikely to meet Mo Xuanyu here.
Overall, they likely wouldn't meet and even if they did, Mo Xuanyu doesn't have anything of full note that makes me believe Lan Wangji would fall in love with him.
I do find MXY very similar to WWX, not just because they both followed the demonic path (though how much MXY did prior to his sacrifice is not clear), but because of how he was ostracized. Not only by society as a whole, but by their family.
How much of his harassment of his half-brother was true and how much was fiction created by JGY setting up his plan? He was a scapegoat, a pawn in another's cruel plan.
He was true to himself. He was openly gay in a society where that was not the norm. He loved loudly but hated himself. So I ask. If LWJ met him, would he have seen these similarities, and allowed himself to love again.

As someone who is finally catching up slightly on TGCF, I don't know if my characterisation is inaccurate so please don't murder me if it is, I'm just joking around 😭🙏
First off, I'm knocking Wei Wuxian out of the running. He's genuinely a smart student who easily grasps any concept I'd give him as a teacher, but I also know that I would be crashing out because he is too smart for his own good and as a teacher I'd be terrified of him exposing me for being a dumbass 😓 Also bro is the certified class crown who makes you promise him you both won't study and fail together and in the end you end up getting a 0% and he gets 98% only because he was too lazy to add a word count for his essay
Next one is Luo Binghe and Hua Cheng
Luo Binghe is just if you're not Shen Qingqiu, he probably won't give a fuck and well aimlessly stare out in the horizon for his one true love (the English teacher from next door who everyone is 80% is dating the PE teacher)
Hua Cheng... He's not a bad student, but he's more focused on making sure that Xie Lian doesn't somehow get run over for the third time that morning because of his bad luck (also if I were his art teacher, I'd be concerned when I notice all his statues look like one student in particular )
Xie Lian... Bro is that one kid who you wonder why he's late until you get a call from him in the hospital after he somehow got ran over by two trucks then the ambulance got into another car accident...
"Uh... Please just stay home for the rest of the month... or maybe the rest of the year"
Shen Qingqiu reads his 'dignified novels' at home and acts like a model student/teacher at school
You'd never know this was the same guy who read an entire stallion novel in 20 days
Same guy proceeds to get voted as all the teachers' favourite
Also, I’m not including LWJ because I feel like he’d win by a landslide.

I picked Madam Jin because I have faith she would've immediately shot Jin Guangshan without hesitation and the world would've been a better place
Just give her one good shot

Qi Qingqi is not often sent out in missions with Shen Qingqiu, thank the heavens. Unfortunately, they are the spy masters of Cang Qiong, and there are occasions where they must collaborate.
After a handful of moles in a forest demon court were discovered, both were dispatched to infiltrate and rescue them. The mission went smoothly of course, they’re peak lords after all. The disciples were sent back on various secret routes. Shen Qingqiu handled the demon diplomacy while she liberated the spies. As long as they could fly back without killing each other, everything should be fine. Right?
Everything was not fine. Shen Qingqiu was not reacting well to some of the food he had to eat. The sect leader would tear Qi Qingqi a new asshole if she flew back to the sect without him, so she had to walk with him from town to town for li upon li. Of course a qi deviation was bound to happen, the Qing Jing peak lord’s cultivation was held together by twine. What she didn’t expect was the state the deviation would leave him in.
Once the sparking and flickering subsided, there was a very small, very gaunt boy wearing the peak lord’s clothing.
The boy was shaking. He asks where he is, and where his master went. He asks if he’d been sold again. Qi Qingqi says she doesn’t understand. The boy explains in a state of panic that he needs to find Qiu Jianluo as soon as possible if he doesn’t want to die, and he doesn’t want to die.
He says his name in Shen Jiu.
And he looks like a hundred girls Qi Qingqi has personally bought the contracts of.
He starts to calm down when she explains that if Qiu Jianluo is still alive, Shen Jiu has not seen him in many years. He grew to be a great cultivator, and he is usually much older than this.
Shen Jiu is a very timid child. He uses formal language obsessively, keeps his eyes down, and only speaks when spoken to. He’s rail thin. Where the too big robes spill off of him, mottled skin covered in a lattice of scars is quickly obscured by desperate hands.
He holds a fragile excitement about his future. Slowly, he asks questions about what sect he’s a part of, what his role is, what’s the name of his sword. He hasn’t learned to read the characters on the blade yet.
He asks Master Qi if she knows of another cultivator named Yue Qi.
Of course, that is the given name of zhangmen-shixiong. He entered the sect a little after Qi Qingqi did.
Shen Jiu smiles. He has the barest indent of dimples on his thin cheeks.
The journey back to the sect is interesting. Shen Jiu is cooperative enough to fly like this. He’s very quiet, barely clinging to Qi Qingqi’s robes. At one point he falls, leaning to see the city from above. He’s such a small thing, Qi Qingqi resolves to carry him. He barely weighs anything. He only whispers a thank you and wraps his arms around her neck, tucking his head under her chin. He makes himself so small, as if afraid to be noticed.
They fly straight to Qiong Ding. Shen Jiu hasn’t said much about the sect leader but Qi Qingqi’s suspicions have been aroused. She breezes through the line, little boy scrambling behind her awkwardly in his oversized clothing.
“Zhangmen-Shixiong, we need to talk now.”
He’s sitting at his desk as usual, Wei Qingwei apparently meeting with him. Qi Qingqi feels a tug on her skirts- Shen Jiu is standing behind her, shaking again.
“Qi-jie, where are we?”
Yue Qingyuan’s face goes white. He stands from his desk, neck craning to see the source of the voice. “Xiao Jiu?”
The boy peeks out, eyes wide. Wei Qingwei spots him too. “Shit, did Shen-Shixiong deviate?”
Yue Qingyuan leans over his desk, eyes pleading. “Does Xiao Jiu recognize me?”
Shen Jiu shrinks back, clutching Qi Qingqi’s skirts far more desperately. Qi Qingqi puts a hand on his arm. “You’re scaring him!”
Suddenly Qi Qingqi doesn’t feel as good bringing this child here. She turns around, scooping him up in her arms. “Zhangmen-Shixiong should finish his meetings. We’re going to Qian Cao and then home.”

Just a heads up, there are bots going around on AO3 accusing people of using AI. Considering the timing, this is likely AI bros' retaliation for AO3 users calling them out for scraping their work. Examples of what you might be sent:

One of the things I love in MDZS is that many characters technically have the same character base (Eg: Wei Wuxian and Jin Guangyao, Non-noble characters with high potential. Madam Yu and Madam Jin, women who are mistreated by their husbands yet still take their anger out on those who are weaker than them.)
I sometimes feel conflicted when I see people saying that Lan Xichen didn't deserve his ending because he did nothing evil like the others, when I personally believe that in itself is his 'crime'. Same with Jiang Fengmian.
These are two characters who are regularly shown to be kind and calm, never losing their tempers too easily and are held in a good light by other characters. However, we can't ignore how that their inaction have caused harm to others and the people they love.
For Lan Xichen, we see multiple points where his constant want to act as a neutral mediating force causes him constantly push Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao together, despite Nie Mingjue's constant accusations at Jin Guangyao. When Lan Wangji tells his suspicions about Jin Guangyao to Lan Xichen, he immediately goes on the defence.
Jiang Fengmian allowed Madam Yu to discipline Wei Wuxian to the point of extremity and unfairness. He allowed the rumours surrounding Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng to spread, causing tension and a gap to grow between the two boys, without trying to go to them and clarify. Jiang Fengmian is shown at the end of his life to deeply care for Jiang Cheng, yet he never did anything to show that while also showing Wei Wuxian what looked to others higher treatment than what a simple disciple should be treated with.
The main point I take away from MDZS (and other MXTX works) is that you don't just have to be outright evil and cruel to be in the wrong.
It can be as simple as accepting rumours about others without ever once questioning them, or staying stuck in your personal morals and ideals without learning when to adapt and change depending on the context, or even simply not doing anything.

Imagine Shen Yuan's shock when he finds himself in the body of the Scum Villain, Shen Qingqiu's (never before mentioned or even implied) little brother and stuck in the Prequel of his 'least' favourite novel!
All Shen Yuan can do now is work hard to not get murdered by either Shen Qingqiu or the world itself and perhaps change a few fates!

Headcanons about the different Cang Qiong's Peak's Disciple Dynamics and relationships! (Part 1)
I decided to make a quick post detailing my interpretations of the different social environments each peak has, since each peak is vastly different from another.
I also made this in order to further develop why certain characters are the way they are in Canon (this is all for fun mostly though!)
————
Qiong Ding
The peak as a rule that makes it stand out as different than others.
You are not allowed to tell or use your origins to others. You are not allowed to show off who your parents are, you're not allowed to try and find out another disciple's either, nor are you allowed to brag about it.
This is to train disciples to build up their leadership skills from the very bottom to the top. The Future Leader of the Sect needs to know how to lead and get people to trust them without using outsider help.
It's due to this reason Yue Qingyuan didn't have his past as a slave discovered, many just believing he was probably from a merchant family at least, and his natural big-brother and leveled headed demeanour made everyone instantly trust him. He was also a grand talent in many ways, so it seemed almost natural for him to become the Head Disciple.
Yes, many were jealous, many were suspicious, but nothing could be done when after Yue Qingyuan's attempt to wield Xuan Su where he caught the attention of the Sect Leader who saw great potential.
Yue Qingyuan didn't care anymore years later. He just wished Xiao Jiu Shen Qingqiu would just say his name without bitterness.
Qing Jing
Imagine the stereotypical high school hierarchy bullshit except in Ancient China. Congratulations, you have Qing Jing Peak.
With a peak filled with both rich spoiled noble and merchant kids as well as struggling street orphans, there is a clear pattern of mistreatment and division between the youths. Of course it's not impossible to rise the ranks as a street kid (Look at Shen Jiu for example) but it often means the child has to show exemplary talent in both Politics and Strategy as well as in the fine arts like Painting, playing instruments, and Poetry.
This often means the children to get to flourish and succeed in Qing Jing tend to be those who already have established relations due to their parent's businesses or due to their previous education. This has led Qing Jing to be informally known as 'The Peak of Nepotism'.
Xian Shu
The female disciples at Xian Shu are like a pack. They stick together, they night hunt together, they study together, they do everything together.
If you have a problem with one Xian Shu disciple, you have a problem with them all. Even if two Xian Shu disciples are mortal enemies or total strangers, if one sees the other being bullied or harassed, they will instantly rush in to help defend her.
This Peak dynamic happened as a result of the Cultivation World (and the world in general) 's Patriarchal views that heavily unfairly judges women. Before Xian Shu joined Cang Qiong years ago, it was made as a Sect meant for discriminated or harassed women cultivators to seek refuge. The deeply embedded solidarity of the female disciples means that for most disciples their priority are 1) Their fellow Xian Shu Disciples then 2) Everyone else. This impacted Qi Qingqi to immediately prioritise the safety of her disciples when rumours of Shen Qingqiu's lecherous ways made their rounds through the entire peak.
For her, it was better wrong than sorry.
