Two recipes from Stan Lee Presents: The Mighty Marvel Superheroes’ Cookbook (1977).
Steak Kabobs - Given that part of the recipe here was ‘your favorite marinade’, they were really good.  I did a peri-peri marinade and it was really good.  Particularly the potatoes. Vegetable Rice - This was bad.  Not inedible, but not enjoyable either.

Stewed Chicken - Because my family is all vegetarian, I substituted plant-based chicken for the real chicken and a roux for the can of soup. It came out pretty good. It’s a very brown meal, but it's comforting.

Stuffed Franks - Didn’t expect to like this, but I did.  Would I make it again?  No.  But I did enjoy eating it. The Salabean Open-Faced Sandwich - On the other hand, I didn’t expect not to like this one.  I didn’t.  Cold baked beans and salami are bad together Tuna Fish Balls - Wasn’t sure how I’d feel about these.  They were meh.  Not bad, not good.  I did end up squashing some down and using it as a sandwich spread, and that was fine.

Chicken Pot Pie
I’m sure there are plenty of better, more flavorful chicken pot pie recipes around, but this was very easy and was good.  If you need comfort food with little effort, this isn’t a bad option.

Mister Fantastic’s Big Jaw Breaker
This sandwich is so similar to the triple-decker one from the same cookbook that I have already made. I guess it depends on whether you like bologna, olives, and ketchup more or ham, pickles, and mustard more. Once again, the third slice of bread is unnecessary but very of the era.

Two recipes from Stan Lee Presents: The Mighty Marvel Superheroes’ Cookbook (1977).
Minutemen Steak and Fried Onions - Most of my family are vegetarians (including me) so I made these two ways; with actual minute steak for the meat eater and vegan steaks for the rest of us.  I was informed that the steak was mid.  The cut is already not a great cut, but it was not the best way to make that cut.  Weirdly, despite the vegan steaks not being easily prepared in the same way as this recipe, they actually came out pretty good, and I don’t normally like vegan steaks.  Take from that what you will. Lettuce and Tomato Salad - It’s a super basic salad.  It was fine.

Three recipes from Stan Lee Presents: The Mighty Marvel Superheroes’ Cookbook (1977).
Muffin Pan Meat Cakes - These were fine.  The other meatloaf recipe from the cookbook is better.  If you do make this one (don’t know why you would unless you’re a masochist like me), make sure you pick a soup that tastes good.
Ham and Egg Salad - this was good.  The ham to egg ratio is wild, though.  I didn’t use as much ham as they suggested, and it still felt like too much.
Mixed-Up Casserole Dish - this was just nasty.  Didn’t finish eating it.  I do not recommend trying it.

Spaghetti with Tuna
I did not have high hopes for this one, let me tell you.  But weirdly, it wasn’t too bad.  Would I make it again?  Absolutely never in a million years.  Did I eat a whole plate without complaining?  Yes.

Quick Macaroni and Chilli Bean Dish
It sounds pretty gross, and honestly, maybe if I’d made it with a tin of mac and cheese it would be. But I didn’t because you can’t get those here. So instead, it’s a from-scratch recipe and then a fuego bean on top. I did my best to stay true to the recipe and make it good. It came out fine. I wouldn’t mix mac and cheese with beans like this again. But we ate it all. So that’s something. That hasn’t been true for everything I’ve made from this cookbook so far.
