I think popular opinion with the ace and trans community on the internet but maybe unpopular opinion for others idk:

I like x reader content, I enjoy writing it and sometimes reading it, but I always have a very hard time finding content not targeted to cis straight women or just cis women in general. As an ace person who is more on the sex-repulsed side of the spectrum; specially with content or stuff involving *me* like x reader fics and first person games or novels, it's extremely frustrating to feel like I'm not seen as a demographic you can cater for when it comes to x reader content.

Sexual x reader imagines or works are alright for those people who enjoy them but some of us would like to read an x nanami fanfic or something like that in which we are not constantly pound into a mattress, thank you.

Also, please keep people who use masc or gender neutral pronouns in mind when writing stuff.

I know that if we look at the data we'll probably see that we are a monirity demographic when it comes to consuming x reader content but neverthelss I can guarantee you that we would appreciate being seen more (and also, if your work is gender neutral please keep it that way, don't say gender neutral as a way to say afab).

There are ways to write content for us, even r18 content: words like chest, crotch, ass, etc can be used to describe all bodies. You can just say underwear instead of panties, briefs or boxers; I know it can be tricky but please don't use "gender neutral fanfic" to later say "and this character grabbed your boobs" like... you're saying that the reader has a certain anatomy. If you're writing for afab people just say "afab reader" and if your reader is amab, say "amab reader" or smt like that, please specify. PLEASE. Because it's very frustrating to be 10 pages into a work and then stumble across a "boobs and cunt" or something like that.

Writing content for cis men and women is perfectly ok, and I won't force you to write gender neutral content or content for trans folks but if you want to write more variety... please keep us in mind.

6/10: An ok movie to watch with friends and not look too deep into.

So I watched k-pop demon hunters today on Netflix (because I didn't find it anywhere else for free).

To be honest I see it as a kind of ok movie for maybe a younger audience. It's fun, colourful, has a lot of catchy songs, not too violent, not gore, and with the slightest splash of drama and romance. It focuses a lot on themes like friendship and trust, which I think is very nice; and overall it's an alright musical magical girl movie as long as you don't expect incredible writing.

The songs are just ok to me, maybe catchy but not anything to write home about, and the demon boys are very flat characters along with half of the cast. In fact I don't think we get to know *any* of them except Jinu. And I wanted to personally stab Jinu almost every time he was on screen for being the "I can fix him he's just misunderstood" kind of guy. At this point I like this kind of characters depending on my mood and in this case I was already very done with this dude.

But back to the demon extras: we don't know who they are, where do they come from, their motivations... They're just background characters really.

And this is just a very personal irk but I just don't like their design. I don't know why, but I spent all movie looking at them like there was something wrong with their faces and I cannot figure out what it is, aside from the fact that I would have made their original looks (their demon looks) more grotesque.

Every demon in hell if you see them looks like well, a demon. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't look like their peers or at least a bit less human when they're not in disguise.

Moving on to our main girl Rumi. Very cute, very caring, loved the ending where she decides to fight with her friends and save humanity but also her past? And the fact that she always wears long sleeves and no one bats an eye? In kpop???

First of all, her origins (very cliché): being half demon half hunter are never adressed. What happened to her mom? Her dad? Where is the rest of her family? Why did no one in hell know about her if Gwi-ma can controll all demons?

Secondly. If you listen to kpop at all you'll know that idols wear all sorts of ouftits and in my 5 years of listening to this genre and watching mvs and performances I've yet to see an idol who is always covering up their arms without at least someone questioning why.

And last but not least. I'm so sorry but the love story was too much for me. It was cliché in a way that for me wasn't that well executed because it was very predictable. VERY

The other girls I can't say a lot about them because well. They're just there. They are ok, their design is alright, and they're nice supporting characters. I do like that they play an active role in the group and are not just there to decorate but that's about it.

And Gwi-Ma... Classic comic book demon villain who wants to destroy the world and keeps their subjects under a reign of tyranny. Not too bad, not good either.

And that's about it I think, at least for now. Maybe I'll add something later, idk.

Why I dislike Snow White and other live actions: Fairy tale rant saga

Aside from me disliking Disney in general nowadays for a large number of grievances; one of the things that bothers me the most about them is their obsession for live actions for two main reasons:

Firstly, live actions lack the expressions and "whimsy" that animation provides for fairy tale adaptations. By trying to mimic what happens in animated movies with the use of modern cgi we usually end up with more realistic albeit more expressionless characters. Take Sebastian for example:

Magic is usually easier to do in animation, as it's not meant to be realistic; in real life however, it takes a lot of time, green screens and computer programs to replicate it and sometimes it doesn't stand the test of time.

Secondly; it's always the same fairy tales. It's always the same three or four fairy tales that are getting a live adaptation/retelling and I'm getting a bit tired of them. If you want to advocate for inclusivity and show that you care, explore other cultures and stories and get someone who knows what they're talking about. For example, please don't hire a random white dude from San Francisco to direct a movie about a Japanese or Morocco just because they're really into it. It's the 21st century, you can get people from the place to be the ones to tell you their story, shine some light on those cultures.

Leave old fairy tales alone: Fairy tale rant saga

Before anyone stabs me in the comments and proceeds to doxx me: Fairy tales are not realistic and usually contain an outdated narrative that has been used for centuries to push an agenda. For example, that a girl's ultimate goal in life should be to marry a wealthy dream-like prince. Yes I do aknowledge that: most characters have 0 developpement, stories kind of lack logic and some of their values are outdated. And yes, I do know that a lot of stories have been "sanitized" in order to be consumed by the masses and all of that; but please consider:

Most are short stories that one could be able to memorize to tell children or other people. Fleshing out a character and making them more "interesting" is quite hard when you usually have 5 pages to work with or half an hour max to tell a story.

They were a product of their time. I'm not trying to make any excuses or to say that because they were invented in "ye olden days" that we should be okay with everything they say, I'm explaining that if some stories are the way they are is because they were written down in the 17th century, 1600 something.

Their audience has changed. Folktales were meant for older audiences as their content included gruesome details and depictions of violence; like the tale of Bluebeard. However, as times have changed, these stories have progressed into the fairy tales we know now which are meant for children. And you're not going to tell a children the "original gruesome and violent Cinderella" before they go to bed, right? Also, with the prevalence of Christianism some of these tales changed to be more "correct" and to fit the standard of the time.

The most popular fairy tales we know, European-based, can be criticicised but please don't forget that most of these stories are now meant for children. I understand the desire of some to make them more "dark" or frightening but at this point please write your own story because what you're doing is creating a film or book very loosely inspired by the "original" folk tale. And I say "original" because the larg majority of folk tales have very different versions as they were passed on from mouth to ear.

Also, please note how I underlined the word European-based. I do not dislike European folk tales as they are a very important part of my childhood but it's vital to understand that the most well-known fairy tales out there are either French, German or Danish as the people who wrote down their most well-known versions are Charles Perrault (France), Hans Christian Andersen (Denmark) and the Grimm brothers (Germany). So they don't even represent all of Europe.

All of that is to say that if you want to explore dark themes, instead of making children's stories darker you can explore other folk tales: from other parts of Europe or, dare I suggest: other continents!

There are dozens of folk tale books that have stories from all around the world; grab any of those and I almost guarantee you that you will find what you are looking for.

im in disbelief at the fact that a lot of folks are simply over palestine. like protests are dwindling down. people are not very interested in news related to gaza. some are simply over it.

israel hasn't let aid in gaza in 70 days. gaza has been starving for 70 days. the condition of people there is horrendous.

i find it distressing to think about children in gaza. how does one continue to have a childhood in a genocide? they don't have school. they don't have safety. they don't have food.

despite all this, the kids will be alright. they'll be alright once the genocide stops and they get back to 'normal'. till then, can we please try to support them however we can?

Sinners 2025 thoughts Pt 2.

Part 2 of the monstrosity that are my thoughts on sinners. Side note: I have too many and won't be posting them all because I physically cannot.

Others on tumblr have mentioned this already but: the dead?

60 people leave one night and vanish? The devastating hole that must've had been is immense. We never see what happened to Lisa, what happened to the widowers of Mary and Pearline, we never know. All we see is Sammie going back to the curch just in time for Sunday service.

Does someone bother to file a repport for those missing bodies, for those people? And what is Sammie supposed to do with all that grief? With the knowledge of everything that went wrong that night?

Do you think anyone asked? Did anyone remember the Preacher boy that was with the SmokeStack brothers the day before that dreadful night? Do you think anybody asked him about what he'd seen? Do you think Lisa looked for him searching for answers? For what happened to her parents?

Do you think she came to him running with tears streaming down her cheeks, yelling, running across cotton fields, asking, demanding, what went wrong? Why did her parents not come back? What did they do to get them killed? Do you think she asked where the bodies were to give them a proper grave?

And how must he have lived for years not knowing (because how could he know) wether his uncle Stack was going to turn him or not? With the uncertainty of it all?

Sinners 2025 thoughts and review Pt 1.

So I went the other day to watch Sinners at the movie theatre and it was amazing, 9/10 honestly. I went with pretty high expectations since I'd seen some very good reviews and also because vampire movie and it was safe to say that the actors did not disappoint.

The only reason why I'm not giving it a 10/10 is the fact that I think that they could have done something more with the Choctaw folks that just showed up at the beginning to warn the couple about the vampire? Thinking about it now I understand why they didn't show up later in the movie (because the sun had set and they didn't want to put themselves on unnecessary danger). So yes, I DO get why we didn't see them later but... I still kind of wish they had (?) So yes, that was basically why I'm not giving it a solid 10/10.

Onto other topics:

I've seen that some people mistook Annie for Smoke's mother/aunt and claimed that in every scene they're in she's kind of a mother figure to him (excluding obviously the more physically intimate ones, if you get my gist) and also showing promotional pictures of the couple and I? Don't get it?

The pictures I've seen look very much like old pictures of married couples I've seen on photography exhibitions. The look like mature adults and somewhat parental figures. Because that's what they are. Parents/parental figures. They both had a child they love and cherish even if she's gone. Annie obviously has a motherly air in her because she *is* a mother just like he is a father. They both cherish that child and mourn her, and if that's not what a parent is then I don't know what is. Also, Smoke acts throughout the film as an additional parental figure to Sammie, making sure that he is alright and taking care of him.

Idk, to me it was very obvious since the moment Smoke stopped in front of his child's grave, because who else but the mother of that child would live in a house near it? Who else would talk to Smoke with such proximity when none of the characters mentioned any aunts, any grandmothers?

Also, I have to say it. I loved their relationship. It was so full of love and respect. Did Smoke personally believe in hoodoo? No, and he says so. But he respects Annie, respects her craft, and believes in her; he fully trusts her. That's why in the end he honours her wishes and prevents her from becoming a vampire, from not meeting her ancestors.

On that topic: why didn't she save herself? I believe she could have objectively saved herself using hoodoo and all sorts of things to defy fate but that's the issue. Annie is shown to consult her fate and is shown to embrace it, not avoid it. Because I think that for her death is not the end. Death is not leaving your loved ones, abandoning them and ending in this bleak landscape of pain and suffering for eternity. Death means reuniting with your roots, with those who left a while or a little ago; death means closure. Annie is not afraid of death because she knows someone is waiting for her on the other side; and as a mother, there are very few things she wants to do aside from being able to see her baby again.

Annie doesn't mind going herself, but she cares about the others, about Smoke and Sammie; and that's why she makes sure to protect them until the very end. She knows that by protecting Smoke, he will protect Sammie until he is safe; and after that, she knows that she'll welcome him when he's ready.

Wip Barcelona based horror love story:

Set on the 60 in Barcelona, a time of economic boom, population growth, and the start of tourism, a young woman strives to make a name for herself as a modern fashion designer.

But between miniskirts and sequins something much more sinister looks, and it's not only the paranormal.

So this will take a while but I plan on making this sapphic horror story based on my dear Barcelona on a time period I find very interesting, the 60s. I think I'll post it on wattpad or maybe here on tumblr, I don't know.
