— What's that? — Jason face relax, the whisper of a silly giggle threatening his vocal cords, looking like an drunken man.

— What's what?

— Your face... — Leo bends his two middle fingers, pointing with his pinky and index finger, gesturing up and down to Jason's — ...Staring at me. Weirdo.

— I can't look at my boyfriend? Last time I checked it wasn't a crime.

— You got me. But why you smiling like that? That's so gay.

— There are strong indications that we are not straight, I fear.

— Okay you are totally off topic. Manipulator and toxic — Leo says, he tilts his head to the side, resting it over Jason's shoulder, pouting playfully.

— Well, I'm staring and smiling at you because you are my boyfriend, — Jason reach his hand out, combing Leo's curls out his eyes — and I love you very very very very very much. Satisfied?

— Yes maybe. You know, it's okay to have unreciprocated passions... — Valdez start in an playful manner, being interrupted by Jason's hand shoving him away, making the boy blurt out laughing.

Summary: Halsin's quiet contemplation is interrupted by the priest Abdirak, once his captor and now his companion. While Halsin trusts Tav's faith in the Loviatan, Abdirak himself seems to think there is some remaining animosity between the two which needs to be worked out. If it makes for a more harmonious camp, Halsin is happy to oblige.

The Warrior Masks of Waxing and Waning were made after an Astral Warrior, who had never been defeated, wandered to a kingdom that has been long forgotten by history. The King, knowing what he could do, stood his ground and fought the Warrior. Over days and weeks, their fight became less of a battle and more of a dance. The King was ultimately defeated, but the Warrior did not kill him. Instead, he sought to leave behind his old ways to be with the King.

When the Warrior's past caught up with him years later, the two went to the battlefield together, not as enemies, but as sworn partners…

The King had perished in the battle, and the Warrior crafted the finest masks to honour his lost love. Twin crescents, waxing and waning. The Warrior would pass away shortly after he finished the masks. Both the love and the grief that both of them had felt in their final moments flooded the masks, and through an unseen force, the Masks were given life.

They waited for the time they would do battle together again. Not as enemies, but as allies. As Sworn Partners. The Warrior Masks of Waxing and Waning would reject any and all that would use the Masks for a battle without unconditional faith and respect for their ally.

anyone else live in Queer Land to such an extent that when reading fanfiction from the mid 2010s or earlier, the characters having to come out and talking about discrimination and saying things like "it's not weird that we're gay. but we'll get looks" and "I've always known I liked men," seems awkward to them?

I'm fascinated by this in myself, because 1. I REMEMBER living in Homophobia World where all of this felt necessary and true 2. I have homophobic cousins. (They believe in conversion therapy.) But since I only see them a few times a year, I like, somehow forget how prevalent homophobia is -- all my IRL friends are queer, so I forget that homophobic Society exists.
