SO. I’ve been thinking and while I love my boy so very much, I kiiiiind of think I need to move Mortimer to a new spot. This blog is all messy and my tags are all messed up and I think it’s just good, organizationally. 

hOWEVER, I have a small amount of skepticism in if people want to still interact with Mort ... so it’s kind of holding me back. I also am debating on making him a side blog or a full blog. I’m just sort of ... stuck.

“Mmmph!!” That’s really the best response she can give to him from such a position. She doesn’t mind the affection at all, but it doesn’t stop her from reaching up and giving his nose an affection honk once she wiggles a bit loose. As payback, of course.

“Yeeeah, but you can tell me again,” she quips, quickly wrapping her arms around his neck and returning the nuzzle with a resounding purr,

“Ya know, if I didn’t know better, I’d say ya missed me.”

    He laughs jovially, giving Lily one more quick squeeze before pulling away. He lifts a hand to her face, gently pinching her cheek between his thumb and forefinger. She’s just the bee’s knees, ain’t she?  ❛    Of course I did. Who else am I goin’ to get ice cream with, huh? ❜  He offers an amused snort at the end of that statement, soon running his thumb gingerly across her cheek. 

     For someone who doesn’t even particularly LIKE kids , he’s sure happy in his current situation. Lily was one of the best things that had ever happened to him!

            ❛    Everybody else picks out bad flavors. Like PISTACHIO or BACON. You know EXACTLY what to get, munchkin!! ❜

It takes a moment before Mike talks again, because he doesn’t interrupt Mortimer like he usually does. He just lets the other talk because he’s missed his voice and hearing him laugh like the asshole he was.

It was nice. But then it’s right back to the act they’ve come to know.

“Well a phone call every now n’ then would be nice!” Mike places the back of his hand to his forehead with dramatics. “How else will I know you care about me?” A laugh escapes from the smaller mouse.

“I missed ya, pal.” A pause. “You’ve missed a lot.”

            ❛    Careful, Mikey. Keep talkin’ like that and people will say we’re in LOVE or something. ❜   Mortimer snickers, dropping Mike’s hat right back onto his head. It’s not out of him being cold or callous that his reaction is lacking emotion -- it’s simply how he functions. He’s miss his friend, truly. But ... he’s got to tease him a little bit first before admitting it all.

                  ❛    Hey, you didn’t call me, neither, short stack. So don’t go pointing fingers, okay.  ❜  He’s known Mikey for as long as he can remember, this is simply how it all goes. Mort gives a confused cant of his head, a single brow raised in skepticism. Oh come on, it couldn’t be that different around here!

            ❛    What’d you mean? Y’ almost get murdered for scammin’ some schmuck again? Because, forgive me, but ain’t that the usual? ❜

      As if this night couldn’t go ANY better! His eyelids go droopy, a soft smile pulling at his lips and his ears even falling slightly in contentment. Hearts are popping up around his head and starting to spiral around like a merry-go-round. There she is. There’s his LOVELY gal.

   With a curt clear of his throat, Mortimer takes a few steps forward, reaching for Tawna’s hands with his gloved ones. He’s REALLY missed her.
