Crowley said to Beezelbub that they both used to scare cherubs with the book of life, at the time (before Eden) Aziraphale was a cherub.

So I'm now imagining Aziraphale being around other angels when angel Crowley and angel Beezelbub start to joke about removing certain angels from the book. The group of cherubs freak out a bit and leave, angel Beezelbub flys after them. Angel Crowley spots Aziraphale and waves, Aziraphale goes over to them hesitantly and sceptically and is like "is that true?".

Angel Crowley can see that Aziraphale is a bit worried about the whole prospect of being written out of existence, so angel Crowley is like "of course not, it's just a joke". And Aziraphale goes on about how it's not actually that funny, then angel Crowley kind of apologies embarrassed, but then offers for the two of them to go do something fun.
