One of the most corrosive things many of us do is that we often rationalise perceived mistakes we made.
youtube
One of the most corrosive things many of us do is that we often rationalise perceived mistakes we made. I am often astounded by the justifications that some people come up with when they fall short of their own or others’ expectations.
They will find something or someone to blame. They often blame the weather, racism, historical disadvantages, God or Satan, the government, the recipe, fellow workers, the children, their partner etc. What we fail to understand is that rationalisation fortifies our habit of living a life of RESISTANCE. Did it ever cross your mind that mistakes you make or events where you fail to conclude a project successfully are a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow?
The word “sin” originally simply meant that a person fell short of the expectation (goal) that he was expected to achieve. It is only when devious and clever operators noticed the wonderful opportunity to use failure as a mind control system that the concept of sin took on the horrific dimensions still used in many religions. People were made to feel like shit when they once again fell short of the so-called requirements that God personally cast in stone. What amplified the fear of sinning and letting God down was the absolute nonsense preached that nobody can escape the all-seeing eye of God. People became devious and began to hide, rationalise and justify their failures.
Children that have strict and obsessive parents soon discover that telling the truth can turn into a fairly unpleasant experience.
They soon develop a wide range of justifications and rationalisations that would make a judge scratch his head. Some children can think up excuses and reasons for poor performance or a lack of progress that would make most defence attorneys blush. Something else that must be kept in mind is that all of us look at life through our own filter systems. We see our own perceptions as real and valid and often cannot see anything from others’ perspectives. We become mentally blind and cannot for a moment contemplate why someone is making such a fuss about a perceived mistake we made. Empathy (putting you in others’ shoes) fell apart over the years. Showing empathy means that you admit to your mistakes and as explained earlier could lead to pain and punishment. Every time we get away with the justifications we make up we entrench ourselves deeper in our castle of RESISTANCE.
The problem with “making up stories and justifications” is that we must suddenly remember what bullshit story we used to cover up our dispositions. The joke is that we begin to believe our own stories and will often be prepared to fight to the death to keep what really happened under wraps. Admitting mistakes we made provide wonderful learning opportunities and at the same time extract the toxic substance that accompanies whatever transpired. We came to this dimension to experience and to grow. The mistakes we make are wonderful opportunities to learn and to expand our self-image and self-esteem. You can save lots of time, tap dancing and frustration if you admit your mistake and offer to remedy whatever damage you caused. There are parents that strongly insists that their children tell them the truth (and nothing but the truth).
Children are often confronted by hair raising performances by their parents when they dare to tell the truth. Their mother begins to hyperventilate while she rips bundles of hair out of her sculpt while the father clutches his chest while he whispers and wheezes how he is going to beat the child up and force him to stay in his room for fifteen years. Let’s be honest. Very few children will continue to admit to mistakes after a few dramatic performances by their parents. Children later become adults and even later parents. They in turn duplicate the examples set by their parents and in the process produce a new generation of children that RESIST admitting mistakes that also find it impossible to show empathy to those that they harmed in with a mistake they made. The solution is to “tell it like it is” and let the chips fall where they may.
Spend today and see if you notice how you or others justify and rationalise when mistakes are made. See how service staff blame the computer when they messed up your account. See how incompetent mechanics flounder and lie when you question the quality of work they did on your vehicle. Try a few times to admit your mistakes without trying to justify these errors. You might shock a few individuals that are not used to hearing the truth – but do it anyway.

We suffer and experience pain and rejection because we base most of our actions and reactions on data that is not valid or accurate.
Tumblr media
You have free will and make an endless number of choices daily. You can choose to accept “what is” and manage “what is” to the best of our ability or you can choose to ignore “what is” and base your actions and reactions on illusions, nonsense and outdated perceptions. Illusions and false perceptions can make our days depressing and unproductive. We suffer and experience pain and rejection because we base most of our actions and reactions on data that is not valid or accurate. We became trapped in deadly repetitive daily cycles. Very few of us take the time to stop for a moment and ask ourselves why we are persisting with our self-sabotaging behavior. We forget that we are acting on our stage of life to learn and experience. We are not the actor. We are and will remain a spiritual being even while we are “in character” on our stage. One of the biggest travesties done to us during our childhood was when they convince us that we are the actor on our stage. We are as I indicated earlier just students at Earth School. Actors remove their make-up and go home when the show is over. Why have we been domesticated like a pet into believing that we are our history? This social control system warped our perception about our self-worth and stopped many of us from “moving on” after we learned our lessons and experienced what we desired.

FREEDOM AND LIBERATION – THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD CONCEPTS
Tumblr media
The concept of freedom must be the most warped and misunderstood ever. It is words expressed by many but understood by a precious few. I believe that nobody survives their childhood and come out mentally and emotionally free on the other side. There are just too many individuals, parties and institutions that meddle with the mind of an infant. A newly born baby might be “free” for a few days after his arrival, but soon begin to undergo a domestication process that will be sustained and enforced for many years.
I advocate complete freedom for everyone, everywhere. The concept of real freedom is to live and experience your life in a manner that will nullify the influence, rules, laws and directions of any individual or group. I also believe that every person must be allowed to live his life similarly. Nobody must be allowed to impose his will or agendas on anyone under any circumstances.
The pleasure and advantages derived from the enjoyment of any activity should be allowed at the individual’s own discretion. No laws or rules are necessary to control and direct responsible free individual’s choices or activities. A free person will act within acceptable boundaries.
A free person will participate in activities spontaneously because he accepts full responsibility for all his actions and choices. He will not need laws, rules and regulations when it comes to sex, drinking and shopping because he will be fully aware that any acts that could cause any other individual a loss could result in a return to the opposite of freedom – mental and physical incarceration. His sexual activities will be conducted with other consenting adults and his drinking will be within the bounds of moderation. A person that is really free will not allow any activity (sex, drinking, eating etc.) to threaten the joy of his freedom brought him.
I am sure you noticed that laws (religious and otherwise) and harsh penalties do deter or reduce the activities of those that they are meant to arrest. A free person understands that he has the final say when it comes to things that involve his happiness. It is not the laws, rules and regulations that guide or force a free person to remain within acceptable norms. It is his desire to be happy and remain free of guilt, control, fear and obsessions that direct his choices. The free person does not need anybody or a system to tell him what actions and activities could impact his well-being or the well-being of others.
Laws, rules and regulations are set in place to control and govern all citizens. The laws and rules are constructed in a manner so that it will curb or address any perceived eventuality that might occur. There are thousands of these laws and regulations on the books that limit or prevent individuals to use their own discretion. There are also endless religious laws that make this web of control even more claustrophobic. The child that arrived on this plane free end up entangled in a web that contains thousands of laws, written, cultural or verbal that control virtually every breath he takes or every move he makes. It is a fallacy to think that you are free if you understand the bleak picture that I painted above. You might labour under the misconception that you have free will, but might by now notice that you in many aspects have no choice at all.
It is also a fallacy to think that you have rights. You will discover that there are always individuals and institutions that seem to have more rights than you. These individuals and institutions often impose their wills and perceived rights ruthlessly. Governments for example structured the rules and laws to always provide them with the upper hand. Every law or rule by the government or even with the company where you are employed weighs more than the rights that you perceived you have. There is always fine print in all agreements. They more often than not protect and provide most of the power to the other party. This is how governments impose their will on minorities. Minorities might think that they have protection in a democratically elected government only to discover that they have little or no rights at all. Freedom and liberty is thus often a figment of our imagination.
Individuals, groups, churches and governments own most of us (mentally and physically) because of these laws and rules. It is the illusion of the laws and rules web that rob us of our ability to become free in our choices and the way we conduct our lives. We must become free-thinkers and begin to live our lives with a freedom frame of mind. Mental liberty and freedom is a way of life and a worthy goal to strive for. Look around you today and you will discover that there are always those that think they are your master and you become their slave. They might have thousands of rules and laws that they use to intimidate, own or control you, but more often than not make up new rules on the run to further intimidate and dominate you. The controllers might often come at you in uniforms, but they could also be a family member, boss, partner or even a child.
The time has come to take ownership of your life and your choices. You are not inferior to anyone or any institution. You have the right to live, speak and protect your property and everything that is yours in a vagarious and assertive manner. Do not allow anyone to wrap you with imaginary or superficial laws that do not provide you with equal status and rights. You must understand and master personal liberty and freedom if you want to live a happy and successful life. Remember that “None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe that they are free” (Johann W. Goethe (1749 – 1832)

Life as it is should be enough of a reason to laugh.
Tumblr media
When one becomes enlightened, laughter is almost a natural by-product; spontaneously it comes, for the simple reason that we have been searching and searching our lives for something which was already there inside. Our whole effort was ridiculous! Our whole effort was absurd. One laughs at the great cosmic joke.
One laughs at the sense of humour that God must have or the existence: that we have it with us already and we are searching for it. One laughs at one’s own ridiculous efforts, long long journeys, pilgrimages, for something which was never lost in the first place.
My own understanding is that there is nothing more valuable than laughter. Only laughter is left in you when you are total. In everything else you remain partial, even in lovemaking, you remain partial. But when you have a really heartfelt belly laugh, all the parts of your being — the physiological, the psychological, the spiritual — they all vibrate in one single tune, they all vibrate in harmony. Hence, laughter relaxes. And relaxation is spiritual. Laughter brings you to the earth, brings you down from your stupid ideas of being holier-than-thou. Laughter brings you to reality as it is. The world is a play, a cosmic joke. And unless you understand it as a cosmic joke you will never be able to understand the ultimate mystery. I am all for jokes, I am all for laughter.
Everybody takes themselves and others seriously. That’s the way the ego exists. Start being a little more playful and you will see ego evaporating. Take life non seriously, as a joke — yes, as a cosmic joke. Laugh a little more. Laughter is far more significant than prayer. Prayer may not destroy your ego; on the contrary, it may make it holy, pious, but laughter certainly destroys your ego. When you are really in a state of laughter, have you observed? …the ego disappears for a moment. You are again a child, giggling. Again you have forgotten that you are special. You are no longer serious; for a moment you have removed your fixation.
That’s why I love jokes…they are poison to your ego! You would like me to talk about serious things: astral planes and how many bodies men have, seven or nine, and how many chakras. And every day there are questions — esoteric, occult. These are the serious people. They have fallen into the wrong company! I am not serious at all. I don’t laugh with you because that is part of telling a joke: the person who tells it has to be very serious, he cannot laugh with you. All my laughter I have to do alone.
But my approach towards life is utterly non-serious, playful because in my experience this is how the ego disappears. Watch when you laugh: where is the ego? Suddenly you have melted, suddenly you are liquid, no more solid, but flowing. You are not old, experienced, knowledgeable. Listen to this joke and try to find out whether the ego remains or not.
All buddhas have laughed when they awaken. Their laughter is like a lion’s roar. They laugh, not at you, they laugh at the whole cosmic joke. They lived in a dream, in a sleep, intoxicated completely by desire, and through desire, they looked at the existence. Then it was not the real existence, they projected their own sleep on it.
You are taking the whole existence as a screen, and then you project your own mind on it and you see things that are not there, and you don’t see things that are there. And the mind has explanations for everything. If you raise a doubt, the mind explains. It creates theories, philosophies, systems, just to feel comfortable, that nothing is wrong. All philosophies exist to make life convenient so that everything looks okay, nothing is wrong — but everything is wrong while you are asleep.
Nobody lives, nobody dies. Nothingness lives, nothingness dies. You are not. Have a good laugh at this situation. You are not and you exist. You are not and you are. This is the cosmic joke.
You see a person and your smile. You smile for them. One should smile only for oneself. If others share, good. If nobody shares, good. But one should smile of one’s own accord. One should not laugh to make somebody else happy, because if you are not happy, you cannot make anybody happy. Even if you are happy, it is very difficult to make somebody else happy because it depends on that somebody else as to whether he will accept it or not. One should simply laugh of one’s own accord, and one should not wait for reasons to laugh. That too is absurd. Why wait for reasons? Life, as it is, should be enough of a reason to laugh. It is so absurd, it is so ridiculous. It is so beautiful…it is so wonderful. It is all sorts of things together. It is a great cosmic joke.

THE A-B-C of SUCCESS
Tumblr media
Reward
Reward others when they helped you by doing a favour for them they need your help at a future date. Do not become a taker and expect others to give all the time without ever trying to reward them with a token of your goodwill in return. The small things that you sometimes do for others are the most appreciated. It might take a minute of your time, but sustain a friendship for life.

Set yourself free my dear friend. You do not need to live your life in fear to be a wonderful and caring individual.
Tumblr media
You can be compassionate and supportive to everyone that crosses your path daily, not because you attempt to qualify for heaven or attempt to escape hell. You can do it because it’s the right thing to do. You can live a wonderful and successful life by living your life ONE MOMENT at a time. Do not fear the future or what might happen when you expire. Stop minimizing yourself because you feel you were born in sin according to the myth. Surviving daily in this dimension is difficult enough. Why load all the speculative garbage on your shoulders while you stagger around trying to appease the imaginary God that you have been sold on since early childhood? All you have is this moment my friend. Be the best you can be, not because you fear God, but because you understand that the quality of your choices and actions today will confront you tomorrow. It is not God that is punishing you. It is the choices that you made yesterday that you are faced with today.

Many of us feel that we are a victim of our circumstances.
Tumblr media
Many of us feel that we are a victim of our circumstances. It is easy to blame others for our mistakes or for the discomfort that we experience. What we fail to acknowledge is that we more often than not have ample opportunities to terminate a drama that we are faced with, but for reasons unknown to us allow them to invade our space (world). Not many understand that there is a software program stored in the mind that kicks in and provide us with a set of direction on how we should act or react when faced with specific circumstances. Who uploaded these programs into our subconscious minds? It was our parents and everyone else that had access to our minds in our formative years. The reason why we continue to repeat the same patterns, rituals and mistakes is the “automatic reaction patterns” explained above. You are not going to make better choices and create a better quality of life for yourself until you detach from the software that governs all your actions and reactions. The key is not to write a better defensive or offensive program, but to grasp that you are not the programs in your head. You are a spiritual being that is trapped by all these negative and destructive reactions patterns that took on a life of its own (ego). The real spiritual you will experience whatever you are presented within a detached manner. The real you will learn from these experiences and move on.

We live in a world of CAUSE and EFFECT.
Tumblr media
It is not God or Satan that produce negative and destructive outcomes in your life. You act or fail to act and in this manner set in motion a sequence of outcomes or events. It is silly to praise God when you WIN or BLAME Satan when you FAIL. It is even crazier to think that God is punishing you for your shortcomings or sins. This mode of thinking places you in a no-win mental jail. We simply live in a world of cause and effect. Less acceptable choices lead to uncomfortable outcomes. We are at earth school and learn lessons from our failures and poor choices.
Our comfort and discomfort is a wonderful guide that shows us the way to a more happy and successful life. God also does not involve himself in sport. It is mind-blowing that players and teams think that God is on their side and will assist them to grind their opponents into the dust or give them victory as a bonus for good behaviour. This is nothing more than superstitions that developed a long time ago.

Life would be senseless/meaningless without problems/hardships/setbacks and obstacles.
Tumblr media
youtube
Humans enjoy playing board or computer games, provided the games are difficult and there are obstacles. We enjoy planning, scheming, being tested and challenged to finish the game. The challenges and obstacles make the game enjoyable and hook us to play for hours. Life would be senseless and meaningless without problems, hardships, setbacks and obstacles. Without the crises we experience, we will not appreciate the successes or peak experiences.
The Chinese symbol for crisis comprises two characters, namely danger and opportunity. Every crisis may elicit feelings of apprehension, but it also presents an opportunity for change, growth and self-mastery. We do not always understand why certain difficult people come into our lives, but there are no coincidences.
We do not always believe or accept that every person comes into our lives for a reason. We do not make mistakes or poor decisions because everything that happens to us, happens for a purpose and can be perceived as a lesson. The universe will present you with the problems and challenges that you need for your spiritual growth. Every situation, especially adverse situations, is an opportunity to learn and to discover who you really are. If people betray or hurt you, it may be to teach you about trust or forgiveness.
When faced with adversity, you have the opportunity to develop qualities such as inner strength, courage, resilience, self-discipline, willpower and resourcefulness. When people disappoint, manipulate or use you, they present you with opportunities to control your temper, to transcend your ego and to develop qualities such as patience, tolerance, unconditional love or forgiveness. Difficult people give you the opportunity to behave pro-actively and to access more light in order to attain self-mastery.
Susan Minnaar

There are meters running all the time that will stop the moment you fail to feed them with money.
Tumblr media
Just look around you and notice that there are meters running all the time that will stop the moment you fail to feed them with money. There are no lights, water, transport, fuel, food and shelter for those that lack the element of money. It is easy for those that fail to grasp the problem of access to money to judge and condemn those that live under a bridge or hide in a shack when the rain and rivers threaten their survival. It is easy to look down on those that beg for money on the streets when you have enough funds in your account to survive one more month. I want to tell you that most of us are less than three months away from joining those that I described above if for any unforeseen reason we lose our job or health and cannot continue working.

The Miracle Power of Repeated Words and Thoughts.
Tumblr media
Thinking is usually a mixture of words, sentences, mental images and sensations. Thoughts are visitors, who visit the central station of the mind. They come, stay a while and then disappear making space for other thoughts. Some of these thoughts stay longer, gain power and affect the life of the person thinking them.
It seems that most people let thoughts connected with worries, fears, anger or unhappiness occupy their minds most of the time. They keep engaging their mind with an inner conversation about negative situations and actions. This inner conversation eventually affects the subconscious mind, making it accept and take seriously the thoughts and ideas expressed in those inner conversations.
It is of vital importance to be careful of what goes into the subconscious mind. Words and thoughts that are repeated often get stronger by the repetitions, sink into the subconscious mind and affect the behaviour, actions and reactions of the person involved.
The subconscious mind regards the words and thoughts that get lodged inside it as expressing and describing a real situation, and therefore endeavours to align the words and thoughts with reality. It works diligently to make these words and thoughts a reality in the life of the person saying or thinking them.
This means that if you often tell yourself that it is difficult or impossible to acquire money, the subconscious mind will accept your words and put obstacles in your way. If you keep saying that you are rich, it will find ways to bring you opportunities and push you towards taking advantage of these opportunities.
The thoughts that you express through your words shape your life. This is often done unconsciously, as few pay attention to their thoughts and the words they use while thinking, and let outside circumstances and situations determine what they think about. In this case, there is no freedom. Here the outside world affects the inner world.
If you consciously choose the thoughts, phrases and words that you repeat in your mind, your life will start to change. You will begin creating new situations and circumstances. You will be using the power of affirmations.
Affirmations are sentences that are repeated often during the day, and which sink into the subconscious mind, thereby releasing its enormous power to materialize the intention of the words and phrases in the outside world. This does not mean that every word has the power to make changes. The words have to be said with attention and with feeling, to trigger the subconscious mind into action.
Affirmations have to be phrased in positive words to be effective. Consider the following two sentences:
1. I am not weak anymore.
2. I am strong and powerful.
Though both sentences seem to say the same thing in different words, the first one is a negative sentence. It creates in the mind a mental image of weakness. This is the wrong wording. The second sentence awakens in the mind a mental image of strength.
It is not enough to say an affirmation a few times, and then expect your life to change. More than this is necessary. It is important to affirm with attention, as well as with strong desire, faith and persistence. It is also important to choose the right affirmation for any specific situation. You need to feel comfortable with it; otherwise, the affirmation may not work or may bring you something that you do not want.
Affirmations can be used to strengthen the process of creative visualization, and they can be used on their own. They are of special importance for people who find it difficult to visualize. In this case, they are a substitution for creative visualization.
Instead of repeating negative and useless words and phrases in the mind, you can choose positive words and phrases to help you build the life you want. By choosing your thoughts and words you exercise control over your life.
Here are a few affirmations:
*Day by day I am becoming happier and more satisfied. *With every inhalation, I am filling myself with happiness. *Love is filling my life now. *The power of the Cosmos is filling my life with love. *A lot of money is flowing now into my life. *The power of the Universal Mind is now filling my life with wealth. *The powerful and vital energy of the Cosmos is flowing and filling my body and mind. *Healing energy is constantly filling every cell of my body. *I always stay calm and in control of myself, in every situation and in all circumstances. *I am having a wonderful, happy and fascinating day.

Let your life be your teacher and allow your teacher within to teach others by the good example that you set.
Tumblr media
Let your life be your teacher and allow your teacher within to teach others by a good example that you set. Many of us want to go on crusades in an attempt to change the world. Our mission is not to change the physical world of illusion out there, but to create perfection in our internal world that is also an extension of God. A bird in a tree can teach you more about God than many hours of lectures based on dogma. Be gentle with others and remember that they are students just like you. They might not be at the same level than you currently and could learn valuable lessons by the way you conduct yourself. You must also be gentle and patient with yourself. The teacher in you does not expect you to get it right the first time, every time. The teacher in you will guide you in love and understanding.

Do not allow your past to hold you at ransom. Forgive yourself unconditionally and get on with the game of life.
Tumblr media
A man that cannot find enough compassion in his heart to forgive is a fool. We all make mistakes, but the fool continues trying to convince everybody that he is flawless. When you master the art of forgiveness you enter a safe harbour and gain peace of mind. An energy bubble surrounds each one of us.
This energy field is charged by your predominant focus at any given moment in time. People can sense when anger, grief or revengeful thoughts are trapped in this energy field. You need to sanitize this invisible energy bubble that accompanies you wherever you go if you want to improve your health or lifestyle. Letting go of the past is a good place to start. The key to a clear energy field is forgiveness. Not only forgiveness of others, but of yourself.
Do not allow your past to hold you at ransom. Forgive yourself unconditionally and get on with the game of life. Even if the mistakes that you made in the past shook the world in its foundations you still need to put them behind you. Remember you are not the mistakes that you made. You are not your history. Let go of the past or unconditionally accept the current mediocre role or position that you are in.
You cannot cross the bridge of life if you continue to keep your one foot on yesterday’s side of the bridge. If you want to cleanse yourself you will have to forgive yourself unconditionally. You must see past mistakes as stepping-stones. There is nothing you can do about past mistakes and poor choices that you made.
Forgive yourself and learn from your mistakes. Be gentle with yourself. Only when you can become your own best friend will you begin to make real progress in life. If you want to forgive a person for what he or she has done to you, you will need to erase his wrongdoings or no real forgiveness can take place.
