Some stuff in thinking about the strawhats being inspired by some fictional stereotypes, which seems to fit in.
Luffy - peasant turned king - King arthur, Sun wukong and King David. Mainly because luffy is seemingly a random kid from the botton of the hierarchy, but he is actually the chosen one in some way.
Zoro - wandering ronin - No liege, aimless but honorable. For some reason, his last name is french? (Roronoa comes from Francois Lolonois) , also in one piece european swordsmen are stronger ever since Kaido reached wano. So maybe there is something there.
Nami - femme fatale, witch? - this one is harder, Robin Hood is clearly there at the start, but with the way she hoards wealth and makes unfair deals, you could argue she is some sorts of weather witch.
Ussop - cmon - the boy who cried wolf, pinocchio, the giant bean stalk, aesopp, probably the character with most references to fiction.
Sanji - prince - straight up a prince, a gallant knight, for some reason takes the role of princess in whole cake island, there is some tokusatsu there.
Chopper - reindeer/monster - Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, all the stuff about the yeti.
Robin - archeologist - Indiana Jones and the like.
This was mainly a thought about how whales represent change, especially in fables and fairytales.

So on rewatch, the Gorosei first appearance made me chuckle because they talk about not letting Luffy get away with beating Sir Crocodile.
With all the new reveals and stuff, it is silly that they didn't go all out, taking into account what they knew. But on second thought, what could they possibly do that they didn't try? Like, in order of events after Jaya.
Luffy went into the sky to fight God.
An admiral spared him, just because.
Got spared by CP9, the offcial assassination squad of the World government, because robin let herself be captured.
Beat CP9, a buster call, and fled successfully on an operation shouldn't have worked.
Got spared by Garp.
Beat another warlord, but at least barely managed to survive.
Got spared again, by another warlord this time.
Got saved by the same warlord, while they had sent another Admiral after his ass.
Broke into, out of, and reach marineford while they were on maximun security... SOMEHOW.
Didn't get killed in marineford. To be fair, they had other, more urgent problems.
Didn't manage to capture him in Sabaody nor in Punk hazard.
Doflamingo whole shtick got outsmarted, and bite the world government in their ass.
Motherfucker kept getting saved by magic silver bullets, and they did kill him in wano and he still lived. No wonder they think the fruit is evading them with all the bullshit Luffy survives.

Although most shows or series take place on earth, you have to take into account that they are technically a different earth.
So, if something out of the ordinary happens and isn't acknowledged by bystander or extras, it's because it probably is far more common in that world.
It's obvious in hindsight, but a twelve year old me only realized this while watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn, where they explain that the superpowered mafiosos were around and even participated in World War 2. So a guy straight up nearly killing highscoolers on a daily basis is by far not that weird all things considered.

Started reading Doppel Gang last night, thoroughly enjoying it.....Thanks for posting half a dozen new chapters just as I caught up.
Yeah, I had some stockpiled... one can write very fast when focused weirdly enough.

Crazy thing about writing a fanfic is that you really can write about anything. You can break the rules all you want. You just are unstoppable while doing it.
In other news, i got frustrated and just decided to ditch Worm's mechanics and made it so powers reflect problem solving methods.
So now, Strikers feel personal responsibility for their actions while Shakers use systems to acomplish their objectives.

BTW just noticed that Taylor starts by triggering twice in the locker and has a vision that she can't comprehend, having her mental faculties compromised because of her power.
She then proceeds to end by getting her mental faculties compromised by her power, gets shot twice, and has a vision that actually reaches her in its importance.
Man... this thinking stuff is crazy
Anyways, Emma is a bitch but she was the blueprint for Taylor's final win against the Golden man.
She learned how to bully a depressed being with taunts about its dead loved ones while being mentally compromised herself, truly cinematic parallels

It is so obvious that Arcane was made with the intention of NOT being canon to LOL lore, instead being its own universe with heavy inspiration from its original material.
Season 1 was mostly okay, but the ending of season 2 fucking butchered a lot of lore and just kinda leaving it hanging for dear life.
Which would okay if it wasn't canon.
It still a fucking masterpiece but it did murder the original lore in alleyway, The hard pivot from riot hurts since I actually read some of the lore.
So much work that will probably not be archived.

Luffy's eye scar is important, like super important to his character

Any time that he makes questionable decisions, one must see his face and his scar and remember that:
He tried to gouge his eye off
He missed
It was his way to prove he was brave
He was like 7 when he did this
And you must go. "Oh yeah he's insane, crazy and stupid to worrying degrees," and simply move on, maybe pray that he actually has an end goal this time

Whenever a series with any fantastical elements is placed in the real world it should ask the question, How does this affect the real world?
Which events happen differently? Which new events happened?
More importantly, which myths and legends are actually real within this setting?
This is probably one of the most fun exercises to do, even an off-hand comment about it can start a rabbit hole of thinking

As a kid, I asked my brother who would be the husband and wife in a gay/lesbian relationship
Now, he was like 14 and knew Jack shit about relationships of any kind, but he did give it a shit
He told me: the goofy one is the husband while the "not-stupid" one is the wife
This is how I see relationships from that day onwards

So the Giga pokemon leak happened. Now we know that pokemon mythology resembles that of the real world. With all the slightly fucked up shit happening in it.
Not very surprised at the "Confirmation", it was very slightly implied in the Japanese versions of the game
Anyways, N is definitely half pokemon
He has the "hearth of a pokemon", he speaks with them, has unnatural powers, his father "found him" in the forest.
There's a Zoroark pretending to be a human woman in the forest, his father detest pokemon, Greek fucking tragedy right there!!!

He must be!!! Following a Zoroark actually let's you meet N that one time!!!

The best part about Garp's "lesson" is that it involves an old man in a boat and how one should leave them
The whole arc is about the Straw hats are trying to put an old man in a boat
Garcia comes to egghead, as an old man in a boat.
