a guide to getting an aesthetic room on a budget
so lately i've been really invested in my room and making it look really cool, but i’m only thirteen so i don't really have any money, so here are some cool tips and tricks to getting your room look pretty cool on a budget.
1. thrifting
whenever you have any free time, i suggest going thrifting or to estate sales to look for cool things for your room. for example, i have icicle christmas lights hanging in my room that i found at an estate sale for only 3 bucks. they look super good and mine are hung up with thumbtacks which are super cheap as well. you can find a lot of stuff at thrift stores that have the potential to be turned into something really aesthetic. estate sales are great as well because you can find some things that would be really expensive in store, but are super inexpensive and just need a little bit of fixing. i found my record player at an estate sale for $20, and all i had to do to make it look super rad was paint the outside, and add a few redbubble stickers.
2. shutterfly
shutterfly is a great place to get photos printed for really cheap. their 4x6 photos are actually incredibly cheap, and they look great in my room with some simple twine and some clothespins from hobby lobby. you can also find a ton of coupon codes online, and some of them can even get you unlimited 4x6 prints for free, only paying for shipping. i found one, and i got about 50 photo prints for only 6 dollars, which look super great in my room, and match the aesthetic perfectly.
3. coupon codes (honey)
so lately on youtube i’ve been seeing some ads for a safari extension called honey. honey basically searches online for all available coupon codes, and applies them at checkout when you're shopping, which can make shopping for expensive things online a lot cheaper. these types of things usually don't work, but honey actually does, and a lot of stuff in my room i got online shopping for super cheap because of honey.
4. wall stuff
on amazon you can actually find some really great wall decorations for super cheap. i have a black and white tapestry in my room that i got for $7 on amazon, and it completely pulls my room together so well. i also have a stranger things poster that i got for $5 at michael’s that looks great in my room for super inexpensive.

looking for ice cream
we were in the grocery store. you wanted ice cream even though it was cold out. you couldn't decide which flavor and i was teasing you for being so indecisive sometimes. i suggested we just buy every flavor in the store and you laughed. it was the kind of laugh i could listen to for the rest of my life. you said i was silly and you kissed me, pressed against me so i could feel how cold the tip of your nose was. you were only in sweats, hair so messy from being in bed all afternoon. and in that moment i knew i loved you more than anyone else i had ever loved. in that moment i knew you were once in a lifetime. and yet all we were doing was looking for ice cream.

nail care thread💅🏼
for long and strong nails
1. start by cutting your nails. but don’t cut them too short.
2. for your own sake, stop biting your nails. first of all, it’s gross. second of all, it’ll make your nails take a long time to grow.
3. soak your nails with this recipe :
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 clove chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup olive oil
how to use :
- mix lemon juice with chopped garlic in a bowl, and soak your nails for about 15 minutes.
- rinse your hands and soak them for 15 minutes in olive oil.
- do this 2-3 times a week.
4. file your nails when they get longer, you can choose whatever shape you want
5. wash your nails using a tooth brush and baby soap.

how to get straight a’s
1. quit comparing yourself to others
a lot of students tend to compare themselves to other students. afterwards, they put themselves down and find excuses to why “insert name” is smarter than them.
you have no excuse. you just need to find your own strategy and improve your way of studying. you don’t need to spend hours like Lisa Simpson (my queen). or maybe you do? as i mentioned, we are all different and different things work for us all.
2. take breaks in between
while studying, do not study non-stop. studying shouldn't feel forced. make sure you take breaks so that your brain can take time to collect everything you studied. a good tip is to take a break every 20 minutes.
3. pay attention in class
you must give it your all in class. take notes. listen carefully when the teacher is going through a new topic. if you have a problem concentrating and you miss a point, raise your hand and ask your teacher what they just said. if there’s something you just don’t understand, take a few notes and ask your teacher after class (or after the lecture) to elaborate what they went through.
when in doubt, don't be afraid to raise your hand. nobody cares. there is no such thing as a dumb question. let them laugh, at least you’ll understand and you won't risk getting a lower grade. most of the time, your whole class may also be wondering the same thing but are hesitant to ask. be the courageous one.
4. plan, plan, and plan.
planning is key. experiment and find out what time you are more likely able to focus.
you can also start a notebook almost like a school diary, where you can write down everything you learn each day. (after school). you can also plan your studies and write down anything school related there.
5. avoid all types of distraction and take care of your health.
do things like...
● sleep well, try to get around 7 hours
● eat well, food is important
● grab healthy snacks. the more information you consume, the hungrier you get.
6. whatever happens, happens.
accept whatever grade you receive and think of ways to improve. failure is a lesson in disguise. remember, everyone fails but the only ones who never quit actually succeed.
do not study just to get good grades. the goal shouldn't be to achieve straight a’s. make your goal to learn as much as possible each semester/trimester. don't be the person who forgets everything after an exam.
have a goal to educate yourself. if there’s something that you don't understand, write it down and ask your teacher the next day.
try to live as stress free as possible. shake it off and keep going if you get a bad grade, do better next time, and achieve straight a’s.
