Princess Elise has been feeling a bit lonely recently, so she commissioned Tails to build her a computer to connect with her friends from Soleanna! What she didn't know, is that a program named MIKU would find her way onto Elise's new computer. The two grow closer as they continue to hang out, and soon develop feelings for one another. However, one thing is left unanswered: where did Miku come from..?

My fic for the Sonic Big Bang 2025! I'm happy to be able to participate in the first And second big bangs, since it's how I met so many of my dearest friends and partner, and inspired the creation of my favorite crackship: Mikulise. This fic wouldn't exist without my friendys (specifically Honeybagel ^_^ thank you for being our mikulise founder), and thank you to my artists and beta reader :3

The concept of Punk Omega won't leave my mind.

He showed up to a local punk show in the back of a run-down dive bar one day because he heard it was going to be "violent". People did a double take at him (which is normal) but what was strange is that they left him alone after. They didn't protest to him being there, didn't panic, didn't run or complain or object like the "good people" of the nicer parts of town. The screeching guitars and thumping percussion were both things he could feel beneath his plating. And seeing people in the mosh pit, seeing the way they let themselves be angry and physical in a way he'd never seen meatbags act before, left a really big impression on him.

Omega hates going to the big box stores of suburbia and the "cleaned up" downtown of his city, but you'll catch him wandering down the back alleys of the rough districts. People don't stare at him here at all anymore. And if anyone does have a problem with him, it's socially acceptable here to brandish his weapons and tell them to fuck off.

Shadow and Rouge only find out about this when they try to make plans to scout for more Eggman bases, only for Omega to say "I AM BUSY TONIGHT, LET'S RESCHEDULE." Upon Rouge asking what on this good green planet could possibly get Omega to delay the destruction of more Eggman robots, Omega answers "THE DEATHSKULL SPLITTERS ARE HAVING THEIR ANNIVERSARY CONCERT. I CAN DESTROY BADNIKS ANY DAY OF THE WEEK; THIS SHOW IS ONLY TONIGHT".

(They go with him and have a fantastic time. For Christmas that year they get him a custom jean vest with patches of all his favorite local bands sewn on.)

Remembering that Shadow would have crash landed on earth in the middle of the Cold War made me realize that the US government 100% had to have been trying to use his chaos energy to make bombs/missiles. That's why he was at a military base. That's why there was a whole room filled with those big containers of harvested chaos energy. Like yes, they also wanted to use him as an actual fuel source (like a battery), but those containers exploded upon being hit with a bullet and there's no way the military would have passed up the opportunity to weapons test with it.

It's no wonder they spooked themselves; they were already super paranoid as it was, and when they realized that they had no way to actually stop him if he decided to attack, they jumped the gun and made a preemptive strike to put him on ice, likely until such a time that they were sure they could make something that could control him.

And what's worse though is that he was a "weapon" entirely of their own making. They had to have been the ones who taught him how to fight so well and to do things like shoot a gun and ride a motorcycle. They trained him up and likely intended for him to be their secret weapon in case the Soviet Union decided to attack, but then he had to go and start acting like a person.

Maria changed everything, and in their eyes it was for the worse. We see in the movie that while he is rather sullen and wary of Maria at first, he's also generally pretty quiet and well-behaved (which was likely trained into him, but might also be somewhat of an extension of his natural personality, if he's more reserved by nature). But then Maria came into the picture and suddenly he was getting into trouble, sneaking around, and being exposed to outside culture. She humanized him to them and gave him a companion - that he clearly adored - outside of themselves, and they did not take it kindly.

By that point, the scale had tipped for them, as he had become less of a reliable weapon that they could use and abuse as much as the wanted, and more of a potential threat who could think for himself and might someday decide that he didn't want to put up with them anymore. For all they know, he might even decide to team up with the Soviets in retaliation for how they mistreated him. There's no way they would have stood for that, so the way they stormed the base and attacked the Robotniks makes total sense.

Some lovely people have tried to inform me that real hedgies can have clicky purrs and I am very much aware of that. I just think Shadow is built different.
