"Face-o-mat provides an entertaining and humorous experience. It is an analog portrait machine based on photo boot principle. Tobias Gutmann is sitting inside it with pens, paper and change. Visitors pay a small amount to get either an interpretation of his or her appearance drewn, or just to get a nice portrait done.

Face-o-mat, which premiered at Konstfack’s Christmas Fair 2012, has since then been presented in Stockholm, Milan, Dar es Salaam, Tokyo and London. The portable machine was originally made of cardboard, but has been upgraded to MDF to better withstand traveling."

Smoke on the water

Alert all shisha/ hookah smokers - if you are in the market for a bespoke shisha look no further. These two are by far the most outrageous and incredible shishas available. The blue one (as can be seen from the label) is a Bugatti inspired hookah made by Desvall, handcrafted from glass, titanium and carbon-fibre...all yours for a tad $150,000. If that's a bit steep for your liking, the second one is a Porsche Design hookah made from aluminium and frosted glass...a total bargain at $2000.

Little more about the Desvall Bugatti hookah:

"The pipe is hand-crafted from titanium and carbon fibre (instead of the usual glass and steel) and stands about two and a half feet tall. It's made by a company called Desvall, which contrary to what you might think, is located not on the eastern or southern shores of the Mediterranean or along the Persian Gulf, but in Stockholm, Sweden."

Cycle of Reincarnation

This animated short by London-based artist, animator and body painter Emma Allen briefly depicts the cycle of reincarnation using face paint. Allen made the 75-second piece over a period of five days by painting and photographing her own face. (via mashKULTURE)

Witty Himalayan road signs – in pictures

Darkly humorous, rhyming and sometimes confusing road signs greet drivers in the mountainous regions of India. The signs – aimed at drink-drivers, sleepy travellers and even nagging passengers – were pictured by the travel photographer Ajay Jain from New Delhi. He has photographed more than 400 quirky signs as he travelled 6,000 miles across India

NASA Images Discover Ancient Bridge between India and Sri Lanka

"Space images taken by NASA reveal a mysterious ancient bridge in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka. The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam’s Bridge is made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long.

The bridge’s unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 1,750,000 years ago and the bridge’s age is also almost equivalent.

This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in treta yuga (more than 1,700,000 years ago)."

"The sculpture was removed just weeks after being installed, having prompted strong reactions on social media.

It generated criticism from religious conservatives who believe it encourages idolatry; others thought it promoted violence or was in bad taste.

It portrays Zidane headbutting Italy's Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup.

Created by Algerian-born French artist Adel Abdessemed in 2012, it had previously been on show at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. It was bought by the Qatari Museum Authority.

Local reports say the statue - known as Coup de Tete or headbutt - is going to be housed along with other works by Abdessemed in the Arab Museum of Modern Art."

In my humble opinion I think it was an excellent statue depicting a massive moment from the world cup final '06 - however it was still a negative moment in the world cups history and I guess shouldn't be promoted or applauded.
