“you should be at the club” i should be by the sea. i should be in the mountains. i should be awestruck and rendered speechless by the majesty of the natural world. if you even care

“I have never loved before as I love you, — with such tenderness — to the point of tears — and with such a sense of radiance.”
— Vladimir Nabokov (b. 22 April 1899) in his letter to future wife Véra Yevseyevna Slonim dated November 1923, Letters to Véra

When Anne Carson said "I feel so lonely, like childhood again." and when Ryan O'Connell said "I don't want to have to be the one who mourns everything when everyone else has clearly forgotten. It's mortifying. It's mortifying to be the one who remembers." and when Gregory Orr said "Childhood dotted with bodies. Let them go, let them be ghosts. 'No,' I said, 'make them stay, make them stone.'"

ODE TO SOFTNESS
Mornings are blind as newborn cats. Fingernails grow so trustfully, for a while they don’t know what they’re going to touch. Dreams are soft, and tenderness looms over us like a fog, the cathedral bell of Krakow before it cooled.
- Adam Zagajewski, Tremor

I just found out two local gay artists were found murdered in their home. fuck. jesus. I knew these guys. I own their art. I've attended so many gallery openings at their shop. they've meant so much to the community here. and they're just fucking gone? just like that?
and of course the cops are claiming it's not a hate crime.

The trans man who was brutalized, tortured and eventually murdered was Black. I’m genuinely so upset by all the viral posts about his murder that completely leave that out.
Black trans people face levels of violence that are completely disproportionate to those of their white counterparts. Even though only 13% of the transgender community is estimated to be Black, Black trans woman make up nearly 1/3s of murder victims. Not to mention the fact that 53% of Black trans people have experienced sexual assault 42% have experienced homelessness and 67 % have experienced police brutality. Racism isn’t just a cis people thing it absolutely exists in the trans community. Frankly Non Black trans people need to start being better allies to their Black siblings because I’ve experienced way too much racism in the trans community.
Here’s his families go fund me. Please donate and share and if you can’t donate at least share.
