I'm fascinated how I can consistantly get proportions wrong. I usually have to overlay my drawing overtop in order to check where I'm going with it. Here you can see I overlaid my initial lay in to see if I was correct (pink lines are the corrections). As usual I was wrong. This really bothers me as I feel I'm not progressing. I would like to be able to get the proportions correct by eye alone. Traditional artist can do it, so why cannot I?? This is why I am studying busts, to try and work on proportions as this is my weakness. I can pai t ok, but my paintings are weakened by my lack of proportions. The third pic here I drew in my sketchbook, it's not bad, but I'm still skewed in my proportions and landmarks. Do others here have this same issue, and to those who overcome them, what helped, or is this always an ongoing issue?
