One thing I'm noticing about James Gunn Superman (2025) is that it's an ensemble piece.

Previous Superman films like Superman Returns and Man of Steel had Clark be the last line of defense in a non superhero world. No Justice Gang. No Peacemaker. No Justice League (yet). (If you want to be technical, superheroes like Wonder Woman and Batman were present before Superman arrived but they were retroactively added in in Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice to kickstart the Shared Universe and Zack Snyder's DCEU. For the most part, Man of Steel was allowed to be a standalone Superman film.) In James Gunn's Superman, Clark is early into his Superhero career and things like the Creature Commandos, Peacemaker and the Justice Gang are already here and the film points this out. The Quote "You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but every day I hear people crying for one." in Superman Returns couldn't happen in Superman 2025 since Guy Gardner, Mr. Terrific and Hawkgirl are present Saviors as well. Superman Returns is literally alone and carries the weight of the world on his shoulders.

The Boondocks episode Granddad Dates a Kardashian features Kardashia Kardashian ( Grey Delisle ) who gets fake butt implants and dies tragically when her ass explodes in a restaurant while she and Granddad are out on a date, causing her butt to leak massive chemicals from her body. Season 4 did not have creator Aaron McGruder to write and fans cite that for the show's decline in quality and this is cited as the worst episode for some. It usually features cheap physical comedy (i.e. Kardashia not realize her giant butt is sliding photos and picture frames off the shelf and counter to drop on the floor, her sitting on the couch, causing it to tip to one side) and particularly low hanging fruit (Making fun of the high profile Reality TV Fixtures, the Kardashian family), and pales in comparison to the sharp satire and racial commentary McGruder was known for. Still, some viewers defend the episode for Delisle's voice performance and... *ahem* aesthetic reasons. Appreciators of pear shaped women tend to overlook the lackluster writing.
