: Hidden Love :
More information : Hidden Love
Where to watch : Netflix
My rating : 8.5/10 ⭐
I accidentally stumbled upon a Twitter discussion about C-dramas, and everyone was raving about Hidden Love. When I found out it was written by the same author as When I Fly Towards You, I didn’t think twice—I had to watch it.
The moment I saw Sang Zhi’s story, I thought, yep, this is exactly how I imagined crushing on a senior would be. But in reality? I graduated without my senior even knowing I existed. LOL.
Hidden Love tells the story of Sang Zhi, a girl who secretly hides feelings for Duan Jiaxu, her brother’s friend who often visits their house. But circumstances pull them apart, and barely keep in touch—until fate brings them back together when Sang Zhi enters university. What starts as a childhood crush gradually blossoms into something deeper, making their journey both heartwarming and captivating.
At first, I wasn’t completely hooked. The plot felt slow and pretty ordinary—understandable since there wasn’t a major conflict to keep me on edge. I even dropped it and switched to another drama. But then, as often happens, I gave it another shot, and by episode seven, I was completely drawn in.

In the early episodes, one of the things I really liked was how well the drama captured Sang Zhi’s secret crush on Duan Jiaxu. It felt so relatable—who hasn’t had a silent crush at some point? Watching her navigate those awkward yet heart-fluttering moments was both nostalgic and endearing. And I have to give a huge shout-out to Zhao Lusi. She truly brought Sang Zhi to life, portraying her shyness, nervousness, and quiet admiration in such a natural way. She was the perfect choice for this role.

Now, let’s talk about Duan Jiaxu, played by the incredibly talented Chen Zhe Yuan. At first, I didn’t really get why so many people were obsessed with him. But once I reached the university arc, everything clicked. He’s the definition of a green flag—kind, considerate, and, let’s be honest, ridiculously handsome. And once he realized his feelings for Sang Zhi? He completely dropped the whole gentle older brother act and started going all in.
Every teasing remark, every lingering stare, every chance to be close to her—it was game over. Meanwhile, Sang Zhi, who was used to keeping her feelings hidden, found herself completely overwhelmed by his sudden boldness. Watching their dynamic shift was easily one of the most exciting parts of the drama.
But Hidden Love isn’t just about romance. One of the things I really love about this drama is the sibling dynamic between Sang Zhi and her older brother, Sang Yan. Their scenes perfectly capture the classic love-hate sibling relationship. They bicker constantly, but at the end of the day, Sang Yan genuinely cares for his little sister. He acts annoyed, but when it really matters, he’s always there for her. Victor Ma, who plays Sang Yan, absolutely nailed this role. Watching them made me wonder what it would be like to have an older brother of my own.
The cinematography was alright—nothing groundbreaking, but it did its job well. However, the OST was a different story. While not every track stood out, there was one that instantly became my favorite. It perfectly captured the emotions between Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu, making certain moments feel even more special. Every time I hear it, I’m right back in their world.
As for the ending… I guess it was fine. Sweet, heartwarming—just like the rest of the drama. But somehow, I felt like there could’ve been more. Maybe I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters.
Final thoughts? Hidden Love is the kind of drama that sneaks up on you. It may start slow, but once it grips you, it doesn’t let go. It’s not just about romance but also about family, friendship, and growing up. Watching this drama felt like revisiting those innocent, heart-fluttering moments of first love. If you’ve ever had a silent crush, this drama will hit right in the feels.
"Our story began when he was 22 years old. I once buried my feelings towards him worried that someone else might found out. I worked hard tp become a better person to match his pace. And when I finally caught him, that's when I knew that I wasn't the only one running. He was running towards me too. In these five whole years, I healed his trauma. He gave me my bittersweet first love a happy ending. Our story began when he was 22 years old. And it came to end when I was 22 years old." - Sang Zhi

More information : Upstream
Where to watch : Netflix
My rating : 8/10 ⭐
Lately, I've been watching a lot of dramas, so I thought I'd switch things up with a movie. Upstream caught my attention after seeing it recommended on Twitter. I went in not knowing what to expect, but by the end, I found myself deeply moved. Let's be honest—finding a job these days is tough, and this movie hits close to home.
The story follows Gao Zhi Lei, an IT worker who suddenly loses his job after years of dedication. With a family to support, he has no choice but to keep pushing forward. But as many know, age can be a huge barrier in the job market. Despite his experience, he faces constant rejection simply for being "too old." Upstream takes us on an emotional journey, showing how perseverance and resilience can lead to unexpected opportunities.

What makes this film so powerful is how real it feels. Watching Zhi Lei struggle—working tirelessly, doing everything he can, yet still facing setback after setback—was heartbreaking. But what made it even more painful to watch is the fact that he's not just any character—he’s a middle-aged man, a father, someone who’s already spent years working hard for his family. Seeing him being pushed aside just because of his age made me wonder: What if this were my own father? That thought alone made everything hit even harder.
One of the film's strongest themes is age discrimination in the workforce. It’s frustrating to see how talented and hardworking people are dismissed just because they’ve passed a certain age. And honestly, it’s not just older workers—fresh graduates often face harsh age limits too, with many companies setting their "maximum age" at just 25 (Based on my own experience 😭).

Zhi Lei's journey is incredibly relatable. He starts off feeling lost and hopeless but slowly carves his own path. His story isn’t just about survival—it’s about rediscovering his self-worth, even in the face of adversity. The film also beautifully portrays the role of family support, which adds warmth to an otherwise heavy story.

One of the most fascinating parts of Upstream is its depiction of the order delivery industry. When Zhi Lei takes a job delivering food and packages, he quickly realizes that it’s more than just dropping off orders—it’s a constant race against time. Every second matters, and success isn’t just about hard work, but also about strategy. The film does an amazing job showcasing the fast-paced, high-pressure world of delivery work, from optimizing routes to the camaraderie and rivalry among couriers. It perfectly captures the reality of today’s world, where everything has to be fast—whether it’s work, services, or even daily life. The urgency and pressure Zhi Lei experiences feel incredibly relatable, making the story even more impactful.

But Upstream isn’t just about finding a job—it’s a deeply human story about perseverance, dignity, and the harsh realities of the working world. If you’ve ever struggled to find your place or faced challenges in your career, this movie will speak to you on a personal level. But more than that, it’s a movie that makes you think about the people around you—your parents, your family, the ones who work hard without complaints. It reminds us that behind every job, behind every person struggling to make ends meet, there’s a story that deserves to be heard.
Most importantly, Upstream makes us reflect on how we treat the people whose services we rely on every day. The couriers who bring our food, the workers who keep things running smoothly—they’re real people with real struggles. Sometimes, something as simple as a kind word or a positive review can make a difference in their day, or even in their livelihood. This film is a reminder to be more appreciative, to treat them with the respect they deserve, because at the end of the day, their hard work is what keeps the world moving.

Dedicated to everyone who strives to live life to the fullest

The last time I saw Yang Yang was in Love O2O, and that was almost nine years ago! So when I saw him in this drama, I was instantly curious—especially since he’s starring alongside Dilraba Dilmurat. Even though the synopsis mentioned gaming, which isn’t really my thing, I still decided to give it a shot. And wow... why did no one tell me about this drama sooner?!
I had zero expectations, but I ended up loving it way more than I thought I would! The game-related plot might seem a bit long, but honestly, it’s not overwhelming. Since they explain things from the basics, it’s easy to follow along—even for someone like me who’s not into gaming. Though I can see how the middle part might feel a bit slow for some people, trust me, just hang in there until episode 20. That’s when you’ll see one of the best portrayals of a healthy relationship ever. Their relationship didn’t start off easy—there were rejections, hesitation, and moments of doubt. But once they finally let their walls down and truly trusted each other, that’s when their healthy relationship began. Seeing how they overcame those struggles makes their love story even sweeter.

Now, let’s talk about the acting. Both leads are insanely good! Their chemistry is unreal—it doesn’t feel forced or scripted at all. Even the sweet moments feel so natural that I found myself blushing like crazy. Watching their relationship unfold just reminded me how single I am. Seriously, where do I sign up for a love like that?
And their visuals? I don’t even have the words to describe how stunning they are! Honestly, I’d love to see them paired up as leads again—this kind of chemistry deserves a second round!

By the time I reached the ending, I was in tears. I get emotional pretty easily, but seeing their journey and how much effort they put in really hit me. I couldn’t help but feel my heart flutter.
I never expected to love this drama as much as I did, but here we are—it's officially one of my favorites now! If you're hesitant about watching it, take this as your sign to give it a shot. You might just end up as obsessed as I am!
"He is a rabbit that has seen the most stars"
Okay, but real talk—how did they not end up dating after filming this? Like, seriously, how do you fake that level of chemistry? I was over here blushing like a fool, and they were just… acting?! Make it make sense ಥ_ಥ

I've been enjoying lots of Chinese dramas lately, so I was looking for another good one. A lot of people recommended this drama, and since Zhou Yiran (I really like him since WIFTY) is also in it, I thought, why not? I watched it, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed.

To be fair, the actors did a great job bringing their characters to life, and I really appreciate their performances. However, I have to admit that I couldn’t fully enjoy the story. Since e-sports plays such a big role in the drama, and I’m not that familiar with it, I found some parts hard to follow—especially during the competitions and the breakdowns of match progress. At times, I wasn’t sure how to connect with those moments.
Since I didn’t fully enjoy this drama, I feel like there weren’t any scenes that truly stood out or felt memorable to me.

That being said, I truly appreciate the effort the cast put into their roles. The chemistry wasn’t just great between the leads but also with the supporting characters, which made certain moments really enjoyable.
Lastly, I'm so happy that the female lead was able to achieve her biggest dream.

P.S Even though this drama wasn’t really my cup of tea, I’m still curious about Ai Jia and Jin Yang’s story. If their story ever gets its own adaptation, I'd definitely give it a shot.

With season two finally on the way, I thought it was the perfect time to rewatch this drama. It’s amazing how, even after nine years, this drama remains so iconic. Watching it again reminds me exactly why it left such a strong impression.
The idea of a detective from the future communicating with a detective from the past is absolutely fascinating. Their teamwork across time to solve cases is so gripping, and the constant tension keeps you on edge. Every attempt to change the future feels both hopeful and nerve-wracking because, of course, nothing ever comes without consequences. The tension is palpable throughout each episode, and the cases they handle are filled with hidden secrets that are dangerously interconnected. Every twist kept me hooked, and I loved every moment of the mystery unfolding.

The acting was top-tier—I have nothing but respect for the entire cast. Lee Je Hoon’s portrayal of Park Hae Young, desperate to change the past, was mesmerizing. Kim Hye Soo brought so much charisma as the team leader, and Jo Jin Woong was phenomenal as the detective from the past. Their performances added so much depth to the story.
And the OST? I’ll be honest—I’m too much of a scaredy-cat to listen to it properly. It has that eerie, old-song vibe that sends shivers down my spine. But I have to admit, it perfectly enhances the drama’s atmosphere.
The story, the acting—everything about this drama is just top-notch. It’s truly a gem of its time, and even though it’s been years since it first aired, it still holds up beautifully. Old but definitely gold!

I absolutely loved Zhao Miaoyi’s performance in When I Fly Towards You, so I was excited to check out her other dramas. That’s when I stumbled upon this one, and I couldn’t be happier! The time-travel theme instantly caught my interest—it’s like unwrapping a present, but instead of a gift, you get a timeline full of secrets and unexpected twists. Unfortunately, finding an official platform to watch it wasn’t easy.

From the very first episode, I was hooked—especially when Zhong Xiaoxiao found herself trapped in the past, unable to escape the school. No matter how many times she tried to leave, she would end up jumping through time again. That moment immediately pulled me in, making me wonder what kind of mystery was behind it. Each episode is only about 4 minutes long, yet the story keeps you engaged as we slowly uncover the hidden past and watch how it brings the two main characters closer, ultimately shaping their destiny.

Zhao Miaoyi and Fang Xiao Dong have amazing chemistry, making the entire experience feel so natural and heartfelt. Despite its short runtime, the actors conveyed sadness and elation so well that I sometimes forgot each episode was only 4-6 minutes long—just when I got emotionally invested, boom, next episode!

I’m so glad I watched this, and I think you will be too! It’s a beautifully crafted short love story. Though in my opinion, the ending didn’t fully meet my expectations, it was still okay and wrapped up the story well. I was hoping for something more, but overall, it was a satisfying watch. If you get the chance, definitely give it a try—it’s worth it!

I couldn't have asked for a better way to start my K-drama journey this year—this drama was absolutely incredible! I’ve been following and reading the webtoon for a long time, even before it was adapted into a drama, and I have to admit—this adaptation has completely exceeded my expectations!
The acting and the hospital setting truly brought the webtoon characters to life. Ju Jihoon is Baek Kanghyuk. No matter where he is or what he’s doing, he’s always swearing, completely unbothered by whoever’s in front of him—and honestly, I love it when he gets angry lol!

Choo Young Woo also deserves a ton of praise. Controversies aside, his performance was impossible to ignore. He nailed every expression—whether he was frustrated, nervous, or completely exhausted—and made each scene feel so real. And yes, that’s Yang Jaewon I’m talking about! He perfectly embodied the character, making me feel like I was watching the webtoon come to life. His delivery was so on point that I found myself completely absorbed in his character. If you ask me, the peak of the drama was definitely when he screamed while swearing in the final episode. That scene wasn’t just iconic—it was legendary lmao.

The supporting cast is just as fantastic, making this one of the best webtoon adaptations I’ve ever seen. What a perfect way to kick off the new year for Korean dramas—I absolutely loved it!

PS: Ahem, Ju Jihoon, speaking of debts... your list just keeps growing. But please, prioritize paying off your Kingdom 3 debt first, okay? Hehehe.....

This is one of the best Chinese dramas I’ve seen, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The story revolves around a time loop, and while the conflict seems to center on a single problem with a consistent setting, the excitement never fades.
The characters’ frustration and struggle to escape the time loop feel so real. They keep repeating the same situation over and over, and just when they think they’ve figured it out, they still can’t break free. If I were in their position, I would’ve been extremely stressed.

Bai Jing Ting and Zhao Jin Mai delivered outstanding performances, perfectly capturing the emotions of frustration, despair, and hopelessness. However, I have to admit that sometimes character Li Shi Qing’s actions felt a bit implausible, which was frustrating—but please don’t judge me for that!
The ending wrapped up the story well, and I appreciate that the production took the time to show how each character’s journey concluded. My only regret is that the biggest question in the drama remained unanswered. I really wish they had addressed it. But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this drama.
On a more serious note, i think they need a lifetime subscription to therapy after all that chaos 😭

I'm thrilled to say that this is the first Chinese drama I've watched since My Girlfriend is An Alien, and I'm absolutely loving it! The storyline is beautifully light and heartwarming, offering a comforting slice-of-life romance without heavy conflicts. It gently unfolds a journey of growth, friendship, and healing, making every moment feel warm and uplifting. With its perfect mix of sweetness and humor, this drama will have you grinning nonstop until your cheeks hurt!

I especially love how Su Zai Zai pursues Zhang Lurang. While it may seem a bit silly or even naive, that's exactly what makes it so endearing and beautiful. Every time Zaizai approaches him, Lurang would smile subtly, and that moment was so adorable. I know you’d fall under her spell too!

The development of their friendship is a joy to witness, and I can totally relate to it. It's the kind of friendship and love story I wish I had experienced when I was their age. Their bond is pure, fun, and full of care—everything I wanted in a youthful drama.
The OST of this drama is absolutely beautiful. Every time a track plays during the scenes about their friendship, it somehow gives me a sense of nostalgia for memories I don’t even have—lol, but also deeply emotional. The music really enhances the warmth and connection between them, making their moments even more memorable.
And the ending? Oh, it's absolutely incredible. I can't think of a better way to end a story. It's the perfect example of a truly happy ending.
"The charm of youth is never about getting what you want, but about every unexpected tomorrow, every person you meet by chance. Sun sets, but love remains—your heart will still beat with pleasure when I fly towards you."
