Time for Motivation
This is my accountability, since the Dog is refusing to act as a supervisor. Time to write.

Seriously, what is with reading 17 papers for a single sentence in my lit review. I just want to say that eastern red cedar is flamable. And not even in the fun way.

Bucky’s Arm AU
Tony and Shuri make Bucky a retractable arm. It is just port that straps onto his stump, and he is very happy about it. However, as a prank, Peter Parker modified the mechanism to open every time Bucky winks.
The cute bagger at the grocery store did not except a buff silver arm to appear when the cute disabled veteran who comes in once a week winked at her.

The answer is emotional damage.

He doesn’t love you And it won’t be your fault He wasn’t ready He was lost And you helped him be found Gave him a life and purpose And suddenly he outgrew you But he didn’t. You see it is not your fault he left. Because he never learned how How to love How to stay
And that isn’t your fault, but you’ll think it is.

Women and Science
The other day, my brother seemed genuinely confused when we informed him that women did not lactate all the time. He is a pharmacist. You’d think he’d have some basic grasp of female physiology.
So now I’m pissed at the lack of information provided by the American school system and the utter lack of research done by scientists on the female body. Effing men think they know it all. I am so done.

Shaving
Lately, I decided to stop shaving.
I have begun to question why I started shaving.
I know I started shaving my armpits because my mom said I needed to, because it was “unhygienic.”
I started shaving my legs because I was embarrassed. I distinctly remember refusing to wear shorts to school for a long time because I was embarrassed to have leg hair.
It sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? That I would be embarrassed over something completely natural.
I don’t think my mom knew any better then, didn’t realize that she didn’t tell my brother to shave his pits. I think she does now though.
So I’ve decided to stop shaving. I want to see if I like not shaving better or worse than shaving. And I need to learn to be confident in my body the way it is naturally meant to be.
It’s okay if that’s not for you. But I think it’s worth trying out at least once.

Hogwarts Houses designing Gowns
Slytherin: All classic elegance. Timeless, and probably by some newer designer, as they wanted to incorporate tradition, but also the ambition of the edge. Beautiful emerald green gown with perfect silver accents.
Ravenclaw: It began as a classic saphire blue gown, but slowly morphed into something much more progessive. Every time they looked at it, they said “something’s missing” and kept adding and modifying pieces. It is loud and showstopping, but undeniably gorgeous. Not all the pieces work /quite/ as they should, but overall it is stunning. The designer will be caught saying “experimental” and “new-age design” no less than 7 times while talking animatedly with anyone in earshot. Bronze jewelry is the only acceptable accent.
Gryffindor: Cutting edge fashion and functional. The bright crimson dress is overlaid with gold lace made from actual golden threads. The skirt is unsurprisingly detachable, revealing a pair of red dragon leather pants lined with the softest silk. It is edgy, and screams attention, captivating most people. Perfect for walking the runway and then pausing to duel an errant Death Eater along the way.
Hufflepuff: Made from renewable resoures and soft as a cloud. Unlike other gowns, it is perfectly comfortable while still capturing beauty incarnate. The pale yellow is decorated with black lace and jewelry. While the style of the dress may be nothing to be overly excited about, the care taken to handmake the whole thing is what truly shines. Every perfectly hand-felled hem and straight seam, every perfect basted pannel and ironed finished crisp line, scream love and care.

Sometimes adulting is magical, like having money to see the butterfly garden or going axe throwing with your friends. Other times, adulting is sitting on the toilet ripping into a box of dove soap because you’ve suddenly become incapble of using the tab.
