I also think a lot about how Berenger and Auguste were probably good friends.

And picture all these adventures in hoeing that Auguste dragged his straight laced friend around on. I know ive talked about Jord sitting in full livery in the brothel, but also please imagine Berenger’s straight backed, ace ass sitting in his boring brown jackets while he waits for Auguste as well.

but why does no one ever talk about ancel ?

ancel , who spent his whole career having sex for money , and who enjoyed it at times , but was never fully in physical control over a situation. ancel, who always serviced his owners and partners the way that they wanted with little to no concern over his comfort or enjoyment. ancel , to whom sex was always just a means to an end , a menial task , part of the job .

and then he meets berenger and utterly falls for him and for he first time he has someone who wants to be with him. not a pretty, subservient pet, but himself. and berenger wants nothing more than to see to ancel’s wants and needs , and he does so gladly and ancel is just kinda like “??” at first but than he’s like “damn i could get used to this lmao”

ancel learning, as if for the first time , what he does and doesn’t like. ancel being able to trust and to relax and to enjoy each moment for what it is .
