Episode 18: “Goofs and BTS Part Two”

Greetings, Reserve Champions! As we prepare for the start of Chapter Three and recover from our FIRST LIVE SHOW, we present you with a rare peek behind the scenes to hear us in our natural environment.

That's right, this episode is RAW. It's the bits that got cut out, the tabletalk, and all the silliness that's part of our table we're now inviting you to sit at and enjoy. It's presented with no serious postproduction. This is what it's like to be in the room with us.

Episode `17: “Talkback Part Two”

The Second Arc of Champions has ended (?) on a cliffhanger! That cliffhanger will hang off this cliff a while longer!

Per the rules of this podcast, at the end of each arc, the cast gathers to give feedback about the rules and system changes in the arc to improve the beta. In this episode, join the cast at the table as they break down some of the new mechanics, riff on some of the social moves, and of course discuss if Nico is OP.

In the second half of the episode, we answer some of your questions and promise to answer more.

Episode 16: “Homecoming”

The big night has finally arrived. As Nico and Mel get some quality time, the unlikely trio of Martha, Olive, and Hux make a fashionably late appearance. After hard battles and shocking revelations, it's a chance to finally be ordinary teens. After all, nothing that out of the ordinary ever happens on Homecoming...

Nico listens to the devil on his shoulder. Mel sees someone unexpected. Olive gets popular. Martha charges ahead. Hux is a little too slow all night long.

Something new arrives. Sorry this took a while to get to Tumblr! A lot happened. The IndieCade Live Show! Some birthdays! Jackson got married! Jesse and Martzi launched a new game!

Ep. 15: “As Friends”

In the wake of Icosagon’s stunning revelations, the Champions find themselves with little to do but wait… and get ready for Homecoming. As Nico and Mel make more traditional arrangements, Huxley, Olive, and Martha also prepare—but perhaps none of them fully understands what the evening has come to mean for the other two. Olive gets crafty. Martha blows it up. Nico talks family. Mel finally does it. Huxley shares a secret.

The homecoming dance begins. And the moon… still shines.

Episode 14: “You Have to Try”

After saving the school and fighting back the Desiccated, the Champions flee Beach Bay High aboard Huxley's mecha raccoon. Destination? Icosagon. But as the teen warriors seek answers for how and why the threat is not ended, none are prepared for the revelations found in Icosagon's chambers.

Olive gets nervous. Huxley gets philosophical. Nico gets serious. Mel gets angry. Martha gets quiet...at first.

Homecoming is just a day away. The Champions may have survived the attack on the football field, but their friendships remain in jeopardy.

At the half, Collin and Jesse reveal a new business plan and tease an announcement we swear we're making before the next episode.

Ep. 13: “Superheroes”

The Champions remain divided on whether they should go public with their powers, but the debate will have to wait. The spire of quartz and gold in the center of the football field has been cracked open... and it turns out the dead were waiting beneath it!

As hordes of undead creatures of all shapes and sizes swarm the school, the Champions must face down the menace and come to terms with a terrible truth: whatever gave them their powers isn't done with these teens just yet. The dead rise, and they may have no choice but to stand united against them.

Nico's blood boils. Martha takes some hits. Hux calls for help. Olive makes like a tree. Mel takes aim. It's Thursday. Homecoming and the answers some of the Champions seek are not far away... assuming they survive this.

During the half, Colling and Jesse enjoy a relaxing afternoon. Because we all deserve that.

Hey, I was wondering if you guys had transcripts of the podcast? I know it is a live play so maybe a fan has done one?

GOOD QUESTION!We did a demo transcript for Episode 1. The cost is currently beyond our reach to do it for every episode, but it’s high on our priority list if we could find a fan group wanting to help that way or a sponsor that would help with commissioning it.

Episode 12: “Feather and Wedge”

After their encounter with the mysterious Exception Agency, the Champions must decide what to do next. While Olive goes solo to deal with her stalker, the rest of the team butts heads over who to trust and how to use their newfound powers.

And now it's Thursday. Homecoming is a day away, but Beach Bay High's football field is about to see some action a day early. Olive steals something. Martha reveals something. Nico forgoes subtlety. Mel gets heated. Hux does it for the love.

Episode 11: “Houndstooth”

While Hux and Martha journey to meet with the mysterious Exception Agency, Mel finds Olive and they in turn make a chilling discovery. What sinister development lurks in such close proximity to ducks? Olive takes a drag. Mel steals a backpack. Martha is impressed. Hux tells a whopper. Nico keeps on running.

No plan survives contact with the Champions, but out by Mile Marker 5, a certain blank van is waiting. Whether it holds answers or more questions remains to be seen. As Wednesday draws to a close, the Champions come into conflict once more.

During the break Collin makes some exciting announcements, including the winners of those gorgeous Roll With Pride pins. Thanks to everyone who shared their stories of inclusive friends at the game table. You're all heroes, too.

The mysterious audio glitch at the end of the episodes has been solved? Kind of? Further analysis is required. We'll post on Twitter if we learn anything useful.

The Champions have a lot to reckon with, but first they have to pull together and decide what to do next. Mel keeps them guessing. Nico gets a job. Martha snaps. Huxley surprises. Olive walks away.
