I love all of them, and I'm in awe of your versatility, Lola! I think depending on the vibe of the concept (or the fic) that you're illustrating, you can keep a few of these styles handy and switch them out, so we'll always be surprised!

My personal favorites are 4, 7, 8, and 10. 4 has a "clean" look and will be perfect as a poster. 7 works the best for character profiles where you want to emphasize the person. 8 has a very personal vibe, like someone's drawing their loved ones in a journal (I can see Yami doing that in a little sketchbook that he keeps in his grimoire bag).

10 feels like a mixed-media piece where the entire scene looks the most 3D, even if Yami looks very hand-drawn there. And I'd say having a hand-drawn Yami is a great choice, as opposed to a hyperrealistic one. I love seeing that contrast!

But I voted for 7 because that style jumped out at me first :D

Paper Hearts anniversary

Today passes exactly a year since I published the first chapter of PH and at the same time joined the BC fandom.

I want to thank everyone who supported me through this amazing journey. Tumblr is annoying and is not letting me tag people so I will make few posts with some special thanks yous 🥺 Treat this post as the main one of sorts.

There will be few of these and I'm sorry I probably won't get to everyone. If you're not there please don't take it as if I don't appreciate you, because I really do. I also won't talk too much, because we would be sitting here all day, but I really wanted to thank few people directly. Also it's a PH anniversary, so that's what I'm focusing on with these.

Have a little art of my blorbos. These characters gave me so much and I didn't expect to love them as much as I did. I had PH plot obviously planned beforehand, but while writing I fully connected to the Silvas and in a way discovered Helena.

PH gave me so much this year. I talked to my friends about it when I was very emotional, that this fic in fact will come to an end at some point. It was then when I summarised some of the amazing things PH gave me.

This story is the reason I engaged in the fandom in the first place I wouldn't have posted my art if not for PH Posting the fic kind of started everything But it also brought so much change to my rl

It got me through a serious break up. I learned how to have fun by myself, made new friends, saw who were the fake ones, laughed a lot, cried as well, stayed up many nights, learned how to draw, had an escape when uni was hard, learned how to be true to myself and brave. but I suppose most of all PH brought back my inner child I lost it four years ago, when my life hit me hard and it took me 3 years to get it back to start dreaming and coming up with stories again to go back to my fantasy world

In my headcanon, Noelle ends up taking over the Blue Rose instead, but that’s a long story (in my head, not on AO3) which involves Yamichar getting together, plus Noelle bonding with Charlotte and finding a mentor in her, PLUS Yamichar finding a new adventure in the world outside, some kind of pursuit that still involves them kicking ass in battle (some kind of Air Force, but magical!). 

And the higher up Blue Roses followed their Captain Sis, and Magna and Luck followed Yami (and Yami never knew peace again). And that was why Noelle became the next eligible captain. And she becomes the captain at the same time as Asta for the Black Bulls. It helps that Yamichar is a thing so Charlotte IS part of the Black Bulls family now, so it’s like, “the family of my family (is my family, too)”.

But! There’s no “reason” it has to be the Blue Rose. I personally wouldn’t like the idea of her going over the SE for the same reason you stated. On the other hand, it’d make sense for Noelle to take over a new squad, like Yami and William did when the Grey Deer was once their family. Maybe more so for Yami because he didn’t have a Patry as his… wait for it… soul-mate XD. I feel like this option will be the least “diminishing” for her character imo. 

Noelle as a future SE captain. Yes or No?

Hi guys. I wanted to start a little discussion, so reblog this post with your thoughts. Do you think Noelle should become the next SE captain?

In the close future I personally would not like that. It would make Noelle follow exactly in Acier's footsteps and as much as I love Acier, I dislike making Noelle Acier II, because simply she's not. Noelle grew with the Bulls and she may have made peace with her family, but the BULLS ARE HER FAMILY. I don't think she wants to leave.

However I would be happy if LATER she became the SE captain not for the reason of following Acier, but to change the Royal squad to be more accepting of people of lower class. Teach them respect and help them from the inside. Also further in the future she might be the most obvious choice to replace Nozel. She became a reliable leader and becoming a captain is a next stage of advancing in the MK ranks. Noelle deserves all the honors.

Noelle is a captain material, so I was also thinking about an option of a new squad. I'm thinking here about @nova1218's beautiful art ^^

Summary: Talia stumbles upon Noelle in a forest and whisks her away on a flight and a picnic. Is this a date?

Set in the same universe as an AU I’m planning with Girl!Asta and other canon divergences that spiral into a new plot.

Whenever Talia turns her head to gauge their path, her braid whips around and tickles Noelle on the neck. Noelle holds back her giggles until she can’t anymore, overwhelmed by the endless pinpricks of hair.

“What’s so funny?” Talia asks.

“Nothing.”

“Liar.”

“Your braid tickles,” Noelle admits. “How’d you know I was lying? Did you read my ki again?”

“You never laugh! You’re not gonna laugh over nothing!”

“You’re very logical today.”

“I’m always logical!”

You’re not. Noelle chuckles and dodges another swipe of her hair. “It’s fine. Keep flying.”

I’m wearing a pair of those fuzzy socks that people give as winter holiday gifts, because I’m mildly cold but too lazy to go get my cardigan from across the room. They’re... like, a heather gray color? The fuzzy bits have different shades of gray to them.

The sans-pandemic version of me keeps my hair at collarbone-length. I’d wear a side parting and pin a strand of hair behind my ear on one side with a hair clip (normally something colorful but lowkey). Right now I am growing my hair out like a sheep, so I do absolutely nothing at all. When I need to hype myself up, I’ll braid it back so it’s out of my sight, but that’s all.
