One of the Christmas gift I received was a Smartpen from Livescribe. I am not entirely sure what it is yet but it is surely looking cool. I am very pleased that they finally managed to put together my two favourite things -stationery and technology- I know I am a dork.  If you are a student, why not check it out? It maybe the exact thing you needed to get that A-grade you wanted.

What if I share my birthday with Jesus?
A question popped into my mind this morning as I remembered that it was Christmas Eve.
"Is Jesus' birthday today or tomorrow?"
After I posted this question to my friends (not the wisest move on my part since most of them couldn't give a damn about Jesus), one replied with lather unexpected answer, "neither, it's in July".
This puzzled me. July? Then what is Christmas? I googled "Jesus' real birthday" and I found that his B-day was on the 22nd of August... What? What about July?
Even more confused I post the question on Facebook in a hope that one of them will be able to enlighten me. A reply informed me that Christmas was a Roman celebration of the winter solstice adapted by Christian at some point. Another informed me that it is a celebration of Roman deciding to combine Christianity and Paganism to stop feuds that existed and a Pagan holiday was given to the Christians. So that's two potential reasons to celebrate the day. But someone else informed me that Jesus' birthday is in fact in Spring according to the bible.
In conclusion, Christmas is celebrated for God know what reasons and Jesus could have been born on any day - he could share my birthday for all I know. IF you have any insights, please let me know. I would love to find out the truth.
But all of this don't matter. For me, Christmas has never been about Jesus. It is about family and food and seeing the happy faces of kids opening up their presents. It is a chance to reflect on the passing year and be grateful for all we have. Anyway, hope you have a very merry Christmas.

THE INBETWEENERS MOVIE
I was in Japan this summer so I missed the opportunity to watch The Inbetweeners Movie which was a bummer since I was really looking forward to it but I finally got to the chance to watch it. I loved it. The movie made me laugh out loud throughout - to the extent that I had trouble breathing at couple of occasions. I only watched the season after I moved here, to England, but oh boy, how I have missed them. It was such a pleasure to get reunited with all the people from the show and I cannot express how happy I am that finally Simon have moved on from Carly. If you love the show and for some stupid reason you haven't watched the movie yet, WATCH it! And even if you haven't watch the show... amm... don't bother, you won't get it. Start with the tv show.

I could really use a Dokodemo-door
Dokodemo-door , a magical door from a Japanese anime Doraemon. The pink door is connected anywhere and everywhere and all you need to do is walk through the door and you will be at where your heart desires.
I've had a difficult month. My friend's mother from college past away from MS which happens to be an illness that my dad suffers from and it just reminded me of the possibility that my dad could die without me ever knowing him. The worst part is my lack of interest. I failed to remember to send a frikken Christmas card to him, for god sake. Meanwhile, my best friend -Chibi's dad had killed him self by jumping in front of the train. Crazy, I know.
Only if I had a magical door, I will visit my dad in Seattle for the first time in the last 17 years and will be there for my best friend in Japan during what I imagine is the worst week of her life. But instead I am here, doing my stupid English assignment. The world feels so enormous today. The other side of the world feels unreachable. Only if there was a magical pink door...
