My dear reader,

It is with a full heart that I greet you joyously! The spirit has been returned to my body and I live once more. By the grace of the god Rivhoru, I have been restored. Not only this, but the curse up on my people of inability to speak has been lifted! I am finding I have much to say now that I am able.

Yes, reader, I was dead.

My companions, bless them through and through, bested the trolls who took my life in a fierce battle, and collected my body so that it may have a better resting place than the accursed tunnels. As they continued to traverse, they found the holy sanctum of Rivorhu wherein he called to them in the darkness and they begged for my life. The payment for my return is great, for we must now overcome three legendary beasts in time, but they accepted, believing it a small price for my soul.

Reader, it was dark. I was afeared entirely. I felt his hand upon me, the wicked master whom my Kenku ancestors served. From his clutches I was plucked and saw the light of Rivorhu. I am uncertain where to place my faith, for I doubt the ability of the god who sends us on a fool’s errand and cannot foresee death. But I owe him my service entirely, for he saved me from the dark one.

It has been a few days since the incident. We found our ways from the tunnels as charged by Rivorhu, proving strong enough to have beaten this first challenge. Our next mission is one much more favorable to me. We are sent on a diplomatic trek to a neighboring town to speak for Parna, our coastal city, at a political meeting concerning an increase in beasts prowling the land.

Imagine me, who weeks ago was among gypsies, a diplomat… I find this a welcome change, as a challenge of wit rather than brawn. To Stillwater we go, my beloved and most wonderful party beside me, true heroes in these eyes.
