I cannot believe “Bakugo is just a side character who got way too popular” is a take I had to read with my own two eyes.

Yeah because a side character totally gets not 1, but 2, recap videos showing his significance and evolution involving the main protagonist.

A side character is definitely presented side by side and as an equal to the main protagonist on covers and in official art.

An insignificant side character also absolutely gets a cover dedicated to their entire development.

This “useless side character” is constantly and insistently used as inspiration to the main character and pushes him forward through the plot, as the reader is always brought back to their evolving dynamic in the story.

So as we’ve said a million times, Bakugo is the deuteragonist.
