TRANS HUNTER HEADCANONS:

I stand by this theory because I do think Hunter is trans and here is why:

the gold thing around his chest area looks suspiciously like a binder

i also think that while Belos might be an abusive ass he isn’t transphobic and supports hunter

hunter knew from the start that he was trans and always felt off in his body until he started doing research about being trans and figured out what he was feeling

he started to design his own binders and that is what we see as the thing around his chest which i think is a binder/armor piece

he cut his own hair with kitchen scissors and that is when Belos realized that Hunter was tran and surprisingly wasn’t a jerk about it and supported him

he has a very supportive boyfriend (Edric) who takes care of him and doesn’t let him hurt himself

God, I can’t stop thinking about Trans! Hunter.

I’ve got some headcanons and I’m going to share.

- Every since Hunter was young, being called a girl never felt right. It made him uncomfortable at the best and he’d fall into a depressed state at worst. As the years went on and he started maturing, being called a girl only made him feel worse and worse. 

- Eventually, he got sick of feeling like crap and not knowing why so he started doing research. He came across a book about the LGBT+ community and found the term Transgender. 

- He read deep into the term and its meaning. He found tips to help with the crap feeling (that he found out was called dysphoria). The first tip he found was to change his outside appearance to match what fit inside. 

- It took him a while to work out what that meant. But when he figured it out, he decided to start by cutting his hair. He never had long hair because of Belos’ temper and it got in the way when he was training/doing his job. He decided to style it how we see on the show (the shaved sides were more of a practical choice then a personal one. Y’know, so Belos wouldn’t cut of a chunk of his when he does that thing. I’m sure you know what I mean). 

- Belos noticed the change and asked about it. Hunter had no idea what to say. He was terrified of enraging his uncle so he muttered out “Just felt like a change is all.” 

- Belos knew Hunter has lying but dismissed him. However, before the boy was halfway out the door, Belos spoke.

“I’ve noticed the books you’ve been reading.” Hunter tensed up when he heard that sentence, expecting to be faced with his uncle’s rage.  But that didn’t happen. 

“Rest well, nephew.” Was all that Belos said before signalling Hunter to leave.

- This made Hunter feel unbelievably happy. But what made him feel happy was waking up the next morning to everyone in the Emperor’s Coven using he/him pronouns for Hunter and calling him Sir. 

Belos may be an abusive ass but he ain’t transphobic.
