I've met some terrific people here but there's some shit going on that I'm really sick and tired of seeing and I just wanna leave y'all with this.

I have seen people literally saying they are going to vote Trump or not vote at all because of how badly they hate what Kamala had to say about Israel during the debate.

If you really think this entire election comes down to whether or not Kamala supports Israel, you have no idea the kind of horrific state America will fall into if you let Trump win.

This is about women's rights. This is about LGBT+ rights. This is about having any access to healthcare AT ALL under a leader who will AT LEAST bring in a cabinet who will at LEAST keep things the way they are now vs. make them a million times worse.

I had to leave my HOME STATE because of how horrible things got under DeSantis for me. I literally couldn't LEGALLY USE THE FUCKING BATHROOM in Florida. Getting my T was becoming a nightmare. Getting any doctor to take me seriously at all when I've been on T for years was a nightmare.

You want that to be ALL OF AMERICA? You want more abortion bans? You want to never be able to afford a house? You want white supremacy to run rampant under a president who's not going to do shit to stop it? You want another disastrous COVID response? You want transgender healthcare to be banned?

Then don't vote. Plain and simple.

Because you know who IS going to vote? Every single Trump supporter. Every single Republican. Every single person who hates you and who you are.

If you aren't voting this year or you're voting for Trump, you don't care about women, you don't care about minorities, and you don't care about the LGBT+ community.

And that's literally all I will ever say about this.

So my mom came across Breaking Bad on a whim while browsing Netflix and asked me if it was good.

I told her even though I've not personally watched it yet, every character development book I've ever read has mentioned Walter White as one of the best examples of ideal character evolution and how every writer with a focus on character driven narratives should study him and the show.

She decided to put on episode one, and she hasn't stopped watching it. She's been bingeing it for 2 days straight now. She's barely acknowledging my existence at this point.

I am equally enthralled. This show has the most interesting hold on people and I pray for a FRACTION of that power over an audience in my own work.

So I finally started writing my modern day politically critical and openly queer American Sherlock Holmes short story. It's been on the back burner for 4 months now.

Essentially, the Florida governor's wife gets found out for having an abortion in an election year and it causes a media shit storm, leading up to her eventual murder. Whether the murder was politically motivated or not remains to be seen. The governor seems adamant that his enemies are out to destroy his legacy, while his colleagues are confident this will be the drama he needed to help him win.

When a fresh set of eyes gets brought into the case in the form of Holmes and Watson, only one thing becomes clear; everyone has secrets, even Sherlock himself.

I remember when that whole Creepshow drama was dropping, shit hurt because I genuinely liked her and her art at one point in time.

All of a sudden all these "Creepshow Art be like" videos started coming out criticizing her work without putting any effort into actually critiquing it and just making fun of it and I just didn't get it at all. But saying I didn't think her art was bad was assumed to be an immediate defense of her character, which it wasn't. I don't think she was a bad artist, and I made a point that calling her art trash when there are innocent people with similar styles felt needlessly negative. The response was "then those people should pick a different style because it's horrible."

Bad people can make beautiful things. It's simply a fact.

to pretend that horrible people cannot make good art is another way to conflate beauty and talent with integrity and morality. the works of monsters are best examined with knowledge of the author in mind but art is not inherently reflective. human beings are creative, and habitual liars- it'd be stupid to pretend art must always be a portrait of its creator
