ELYSIUM (HE/THEY) [GNC-MALE] Mask: A full head mask made out of cracked tiles of mirror glass Weapon Of Choice:Butcher knife (w.r. case and sons cut-co 102-12) Outfit: They wear very clearly expensive looking designer clothes. A velvety looking red v-neck t-shirt, black jeans with artfully purposeful stitches connecting the thighs with the rest of the leg, sharply heeled ankle boots with red bottoms, and thick designer black gloves.

BLACK DAHLIA (SHE/HER) [FEMALE] Mask: A handmade mask, looks more like a flower arrangement art piece. dried black dahlia flowers at either side of the wooden mask, multi-coloured autumn leaves frame the dried flowers on either side and meet at the middle of the mask, just under the eye holes. Weapon Of Choice:Felling Axe Outfit: Wearing nondescript black lace up boots, extremely faded ripped blue jeans, a thin grey turtleneck under a green flannel shirt and a long pale pine green duffel coat, and an immaculate looking pearl necklace. Carries a brown worn looking messenger bag constantly.

OVERDOSE (HE/SHE/THEY) [GENDERFLUID] Mask: A heavily modified gas mask. painted black and studded with metal spikes, the glass of the eyes replaced with green tinted mirror lenses Weapon Of Choice:Nail Bat Outfit: They wear a faded pink leather jacket with the sleeves hacked off, a black and white long sleeved, striped shirt under an oversized black band t-shirt halfway tucked into wide legged jeans with the knees completely ripped open, showing their fishnet tights, wearing ratty, mismatched black and blue converse sneakers. completed with a spiked dog collar.

COLD (THEY/THEM) [NONBINARY] Mask: A smooth, blank white mask. its only features are its black eye-holes. Weapon Of Choice:Garrote Outfit: They wear a long black pea coat, black leather gloves, a tawny brown scarf over a light grey turtleneck with black slacks and heeled ankle boots.

SWEETHEART (HE/HIM) [MALE] Mask: A shiny, red, full face motorcycle helmet. Weapon Of Choice:Sledgehammer, Hunting knife Outfit: He wears a tan, sheepskin bomber jacket over a loose, dark grey, linen button up, slightly faded dark blue jeans, grey and white work boots, occasionally wears cheap heart themed rings on his fingers.

In Frigga’s silence, Sapphire regained her composure, her face returned to neutral and the glow of her magic receded. “Well, Frigga, if you think you’ve cracked how to dissolve our contract, you’re welcome to try seeing as you’d rather sneak around behind my back than discuss these matters with me.” “No, Auntie, of course no-“ “And,” she leaned in a bit closer, the lights flickered again, her rage nearly visible around her, “if you’d like to run off with that vampiric parasite, or anyone else, I suggest they never show their face here again. It’d be a shame if someone went missing.” “Auntie, please, don-“ The lights dimmed and Sapphire’s rage began to manifest as electric blue static peeling off her in waves. “This coven depends on me and my decision is final. You’re going to respect that.” She roughly clamped Frigga’s right arm with a faintly glowing hand, her nails digging into the faint brand that lit up blue at the touch. “This isn’t going anywhere and you are going to follow through with it. If I hear any more about this foolishness, if you put one more toe out of line, I will lock you in your room and bind your magic until the day of the Heir ceremony, understand?” (Blood and Thorns, Chapter 14)

Growing up as a closeted queer person is actually kinda crazy because instances of homophobia stick out to you way more and you're forced to kinda read the room before responding to it.

When I was in high school, we were doing presentations for speech class. It was a practice of persuasion, having to convince the teacher/class of something being true. We each got to select our own prompts. Mine was why I thought The Legend of Zelda was cool.

My classmate, on the other hand, argued in favor of one of those classic "Disney subliminal messages" conspiracy theories. I specifically remember he used the Lion King SFX screenshot, The Little Mermaid's VHS box art, and the topless woman from The Rescuers. The angle he took from this was that Disney was "brainwashing kids into homosexuality".

Now, obviously, I wanted to say something about this. I wanted to go like, "Hey, what the fuck are you talking about?" But upon glancing around the room, my teacher was nodding, and the other students were exclaiming, "Wow, that's crazy! I had no idea!"

I don't believe anyone ever said a word about the blatant homophobia on display.

This was around 2013/2014.

The Eldritch Doctor

-Xandin Ivory- Your "Employer" as it were. He largely comes off as aloof on a good day and down right cold on others. He keeps his face hooded, masked, or otherwise shrouded in darkness via magic, Few seem to know what he truly looks like, and those that do are evasive under questioning. He expects your absolute very best on the tasks he sets you on, but he doesn't come across as unfair. There are no shortage of rumors about the man, ranging from completely banal to down right terrifying. Certainly, a warlock acting as a village doctor couldn't be as cruel as he's rumored to be....could he?

The Immortal Bard

-Yuuki Itsuki- A playful bard that seemingly everyone knows, who apparently knows everyone. Everyone but you, that is. He seems keen on remedying that with his uncanny ability to show up in the most unlikely of places, as he's taken an interest in your quest. There are rumors that he's immortal, that he's been around for decades, that he knows where The Valley is, but keeps it a secret. Is he really just a friendly face, or is there something deeper behind his charming demeanor?

The Arcane Knight

-Andrew Hartlyn- The current sovereign's personal guardian, He's been protecting them since they were a child and considers them family. Kind and level headed, He comes off as an uncomplicated man born from humble beginnings, but the question remains of how this seemingly normal man became the guardian of the Altrien monarch is a mystery to many, most of all you. Is this man as modest as he claims, or is there something more extraordinary going on with this knight?

The Vibrant Valkyrie

-Claudia Duskstar- A descendant of the goddess Illumae, her angelic features contrasts sharply with her impudent demeanor. A known bar fly and gambler, this mercenary claims she's only in it for the coin nowadays, but she has plenty of history she isn't exactly keen on sharing, not while sober anyway. Is this divine paladin truly just done with valor and virtue, or can you prove to her that there is some goodness left to protect after all?

The Wandering Merchant

 -Vylasia Ambrees- The ever charismatic merchant you stumbled upon by pure chance, Vylasia has her ear right at the pulse of the rumor mill. She and her trusty steed Diego have traveled far and wide in her caravan, she hocks her wares with an air of mystery and allure and barters her knowledge to the highest bidder, but she seems to keep people at arms length and always plays her persona of the mysterious merchant flawlessly. Will you be able to find out how this merchant really feels about you?

The Enigmatic Noble

-Cyrus/Cyriene/Cyrid Ari'Nodel- Cy is...an odd person by noble standards, from their blatant disdain for other houses of nobility, their extreme willfulness, to their oddly obfuscated noble parentage, they seem to be many contradictions bundled into one person, but the one thing you know they are, is the Ezrian council's head archivist, they've kept sensitive documents for the Council safe for years, but that can't be the only reason their frequent insubordination and flippant attitude is ignored, can it?

I challenged myself to use a limited color palette for this illustration and am really happy with how it turned out. Traditionally drawn with ink and markers on mixed media paper.

Most of my markers are Copics, but I'm a huge fan of Sketchmarkers. Their cap colors don't always match the color inside, but they work really nicely, hold a ton of ink, and their refills are affordable.
