Spirit Of Warped Tour Lives On
It’s so sad to see that the Vans Warped Tour of 2016 has officially come to an end. I am going to miss going on social media and seeing post of set times, signing times, and live action photos and videos of warped tour from bands/band members. But most of all! I am going to miss Warped Tour itself! Even though it was blazing hot, and included all day of walking, and standing. It was all worth it in the end. With all the Warped Tours I’ve been too, I think 2016 had the best line up. So goodbye Warped tour! I hope the bands get a well and deserved break! ... At least.. that is what I thought... until the lovely announcements I have been receiving throughout the week!
Words has been going around that “The Maine” is taking a break from tour, but not taking a break from music. They will be somewhere in Cali recording their next album! All of you “The Maine” fans get ready! I know this band has something up their sleeves.Let’s be honest here! “American Candy” was amazing! I’m sure a lot of bands will be working on new albums as well, they were just the band I heard of FOR SURE!
THE UPCOMING TOURS! : Seems like all the bands that has been on Warped Tour is splitting up, teaming up, and heading on the road AGAIN! Rather it’s in the USA, South America, Asia or Europe! They are not taking a break from the party just yet!” Against the Current” will be headlining in Europe for the “In Our Bones” tour.
Then Today I got an announcement that “Sleeping With Sirens, State Champs, Tonight Alive, and Water Parks” are going on a tour. Then there is this Sumerian Records 10 year tour that’s coming up that’s including “I See Stars”.
Also get ready for some throwback bands like Sum 41 and Good Charlotte that will be heading on tour on separate tours!
This is great news for mainly ANY fan that are fans of these amazing bands!Rather they went to Warped Tour or not, the fans should have a great time on any of these tours!
So it may have been goodbye to Warped Tour but for the fans! They are just in luck!

Concert Diary :Charlie Puth
Tumblr media
I am happy to say that I met my favorite artist Charlie Puth. Honestly, I never thought this would  be possible. Ever since “See You Again" came on the radio, I had fell in love with Charlie's voice, and his musicianship. Not only can he sing, but he can also write songs, and play piano. And who can forget his amazing talent of beatboxing. I was so excited for his new album “Nine Track Mind" that released in January,I went to the store on exactly January 29 to purchase it. That album automatically became my new obsession.
As I went to search for tickets to see him live, I just wanted to know how much the tickets would be since I know for a fact,it was going to be pricey. After all, this  is Charlie Puth we're talking about! Sad to say that the tickets were sold out in Detroit. But then my concert buddy bought re sale tickets for my birthday present, and I was so happy. We were going to see Charlie Puth, and not only see him live, but we get to go to meet and greet. I did not expect that at all for a huge artist like him. I thought it was reserved seating and that our seats were going to be on the way top. But it was general admission.
On the day of the concert it was actually really busy. I drove about 1.5-2 hours to Michigan State University to meet up with my concert buddy since that is where she was going to school, and it made sense if I drove there since it was only a few hours from Detroit, vs her coming to pick me up and driving an extra 3 hours! Even though she had morning class, I did not mind walking around MSU and experiencing the campus life there. It was a nice day! We were in no rush, and we get to see Charlie Puth in a few hours! Who wouldn't be okay!
When we got to Detroit we felt really excited, and the St. Andrew Hall venue was already starting to form a line. Good thing we got VIP. The Parking was perfect since it was just right outside the venue, not a far walk at all. Of course we were early, and so we decided to get our Starbucks before the show! After our Starbucks run, we sat at the park, and waited for time to pass.
Meet and Greet was great but confusing! Usually the meet and greets we go to we meet the artist , and then we get to stay inside, and go to the floor. This one they made us go back outside and re line up and then let our line go first. It wasn't too bad, it was juts confusing,But meeting Charlie was great! He was so nice, and that smile is just too cute! I welcomed him to Detroit, and he seem very appreciative!
Our spot for the concert wasn’t bad at all. We were literally in second row! Sophie Beam was up first and even though she was really poppy(Not my type of music),she did not do so bad. After her was Phoebe Ryan, and I loved her! She was such a good singer, and her songs are so catchy! My favorite track from her was “Mine” and “Dead”.
Finally it was time for Charlie Puth to be on stage and he KILLED IT! So amazing! He performed all the songs on his album and it sounded so good! I love “Left Right Left" “Up All Night” and “One Call Away" . “See you again” was his very last song and it was BEAUTIFUL! Better than the radio version by far!Charlie Puth is such a good artist/musician. It was one great night!

Meeting Against The Current
Tumblr media
The journey of meeting this band started out like this.I first discovered Against The Current in the 11th grade when they did a cover with Alex Goot, and the cover was to “Good Time" by Carly Rae Jepsen. I continue to listen to their stuff, and my love for them grew for their music. My friend and I finally went to see them live last year in December in Chicago, and it was quite the struggle. It was our first time at the venue called the “Subterranean”. We had no clue what the parking was going to be like, until we had to circle at least 7 times just to find parking, and we finally found a parking ramp that was literally 45 minutes away. It was quite the hike, and quite the journey on that side of town in Chicago. I remember my friend and I actually really needed to use the bathroom, but decided to hold it UNTIL we arrived at the “Subterranean” venue.
We crossed the bridge and that gave us warning that we were halfway to where we needed to be. The weatehr was not helpful, as it snowed, and was freezing. Not only did we passed shops but we also passed neighborhoods. I felt as if we were finding a way back home instead of a concert, since the walk was horrible.
We made it to the venue, and the venue was cool! It was very tiny, but it has an upstairs, and the stage was small. You could also watch the show from the upstairs as well. We got to see JuleVera, and Vynl Theatre. They were really good. OF course Against the Currents was amazing when they perform, aand seeing them live the first time was good. We knew all the songs they performed! And at that time they performed for the first time ever “Runaway” and they made me excited for their new album.
When the concert was done, they were meeting fans upsatirs, but with the walk back being 45 minutes... We decided to leave. I thought I was going to regret it, but... I'm glad I got to meet them at Warped Tour 2016!
I LOVE YOU CHRISSY, DAN, and WILL!

Concert Diary Vans Warped Tour Chapter 4:Best Day Ever!
Dear Diary,
After we got through the security, and we got the set times and signing times of the bands we wanted to see. It was time to check out the first band which was “The Word Alive" for an early set the crowd was rowdy! There was already people jumping up and down, rocking out, and also crowd surfing. Not to mention the crowd did start a huge mosh pit, and I am talking huge! It wasn't a small middle mosh pit, it was like the whole section of the Monster Energy North space! We were not in front but near a tent which was nice. Can't say it kept us cool, but it did keep us away from the sun. Telle (Lead singer) has such a great voice live, and we really appreciate the crowds energy. I was also shocked that the crowd did the wall of death. Before I was scared of that stuff, but now I know how to avoid it! Either stand in the way front or the way back! Simple!
When “The Word Alive” was done. We decided to get water and we check out the cooling station. There was a fire truck there and the slip and slide! We decided to go to the Journeys Right Stage to see “State Champs" who was playing at 12:30pm, and that is actually one of the bands on our list. I love their album “Around The World and Back". I am not a familiar with their old stuff, but I am sure it's great! New Found Glory was performing on the left stage, and the crowd was pretty huge for that as well. The sun was starting to beem down like crazy! But Honestly! I did not mind it, there was a quite breeze here and there.
When “State Champs” went on, they sounded so good live! My friend and I were actually in the crowd this time and interacting which is the best. When you are at a concert or festivle watching a band or artist, and you interact with the crowd, and do what they do! You know you are having a great time when you interact! It was also great that the security guard was spraying people and cooling people off. Unlike Cincinnati that did not have that at all. “State Champs" performed my top favorite songs by them which are “Secrets”, “Losing Myself" and “Perfect Score". After they were done it was time for us to go to our signing of “Chunk No Captain Chunk” and “Against the Current”. As we walked pass the “Vans Off The Wall” tents my friend wanted to buy a shirt since her tank top was getting soaked. So we figured that every shirt there was $15 and you get a free snapbacks of your choice! Which was cool, so with me and my obsession with snapbacks I decided to purchase a shirt, and got the free snapback of my choice which was super cute!
As you guys remember from my previous chapters of my friend liking “The Maine" we decided to stop by their tent and this time not only was John there but the full band. We saw a huge gap between the line, and we're like “Oh isn't bad. Let's get in line" looked further down.... NO WAY WERE WE GOING TO WAIT! The line was HUGE! So we decided to go get some air conditioning in the venue, and they had the SYFY channel on, while we can see the bands getting catering!
When it was time for “Chunk No Captain Chunks” signing we decided to head out to get in line.Chunks signing was at 2:30pm while” Against The Currents” signing was at 3:00pm. Good thing their tent was right by each other. So We were not in a bad place at Chunks and could possibly make it to “Against The Currents” as well. The band got there around 2:45pm and instead of doing photos and signing they are not just doing signing, and a Selfie with Bert (Lead singer). So my friend decided to save us a spot at the Against The Currents meet and greet. Meeting “Chunk No Captain Chunk" was great! They are so adorable and those french accents are a bonus. I bought an autograph book just for Warped Tour and I am so happy it was finally getting used. Not to mention a Selfie at the end! I love taking selfies!
After I was done with the signing I went to look for my friend in line at the “Against The Current" line, but I got a text from her saying she was getting water so I went to stand in line, and I actually did not get a bad spot. It was only 2:55pm,so that was nice since the band wasn't even there yet. As I was waiting, there was people that had to get through that keeps walking between me and this dude. So we had to  move back for them to go through and it was like constant thing. Him and I started to talk and make jokes about how it feels like there's a sign that says “Cross Here" in front of us. We kept talking and we started talking about music. My friend finally came, and she joined in the convo. Later on we learned that he was a fan boy, and was so nervous to meet Chrissy! Which was no big deal I mean... You're meeting your favorite band! How can you not be freaking out!
Through out the day it was getting closer and closer to the set time of I See Stars and I was pumped. I didn't know what to expect. I got to the Posiden stage early, and caught half of the “The Heirs"after they were done, I saw I See Stars equipment getting set up! My friend went to catch the first half of the Maine and I was trying to save a spot for here since we’re in the very front. While I was waiting for her return, I met a girl, and she went to multiple dates of the tour as well. My friend made it on time and the crowd was filling up.
As I See Stars came on stage, the crowd was already pumped. They started out with the song “Mobbing Out” then after that it was “Ten Thousand Feet". My all time favorite song was “Running With Scissors" seeing that song live was amazing! Also another thing that I found fun and interesting was that they had an inflatable that Devin rode on, and it was CRAZY! I was afraid someone was going to drop him but he made it safely. About 5 minutes after their set was going to be done my friend left to saved us a spot to go and meet I See Stars. So When I was done I knew where to find her, and there was about 20 minutes until the signing started, so we walked around and checked out more merch tables. When we got to the signing I was so excited, I am FINALLY going to meet I See Stars! Meeting them was amazing! They are such great and fun dudes to talk to and I am happy that I got the opportunity to meet them. I wish we were able to take photos but sadly it was only a signing.
After the signing we decided to hang out in the venue for a few minutes. Then we were out again ,and caught the first few minutes of Against The Current. Afterthe song Wasteland , we went to see Set it Off, and THEY WERE SO GOOD LIVE. Anything the lead singer told to do, everyone did it! They started out with their song “Uncontainable” and I think my favorite song they perform live was “Forever Stuck In Our Youth" and “Something New". They are such good performers, and musicians. Great way to end our night. And it was THE BEST DAY EVER !
Sincerely, Kara <3

Concert Diary Chapter 3:Vans Warped Tour: Entering Detroit, MI
Dear Diary,
Rise and shine! Morning at the hotel went smoothly. Waking up and remembering that we are in Dayton, Ohio, and about to head back to Detorit , Michigan for Warped Tour part 2, got me pumped! Even though Cinccinati Warped was not the greatest experience.I prayed that Detroit would be better. My friend and I both got up around 5-5:30am. Yes... It was early but worth it! Not only were we trying to catch breakfast down at the lobby, we were also trying to get to the doors early. But knowing me, I love making  my hair wavy! I wish I was the type of girl that can just put her hair up in a ponytail and call it good, but... I just don't like how I look in a ponytail. I know it shouldn't matter that much, since I will be at Warped Tour and get all hot and sweaty anyways, but... It's my hair! As the band “The Maine” would say “Nobody’s gonna tell me how ot wear my hair” ( Song:Hair from the “American Candy” Album).
It was about 6:30am when we stepped downstairs to the lobby with our stuff to have breakfast. There wasn't a lot of people there just us and two other men, guessing the other guest are still fast asleep. But not complainging  since it was nice and quiet! The scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and busicut and gravy really made me full. Then again, when I'm excited I intend to not eat as much or I can take a few bites and say I’m full...
When we finished are delicious breakfast it's time to hit the road! Our drive back to Detroit still consists of my wonderfully made Warped Tour Band playlist! We arrived in Michigan at about 9ish... And we decided to go and get some towels this time, to wipe the sweat that will be happening today... I know... Sounds gross but... You gotta do what you gotta do and it's WARPED TOUR!After the stop for towels we got our one and only amazing STARBUCKS!Defiantly needed a caffeine boost! As we are headed down to the Palace... AKA “The Palace Of Auburn Hills" there was once again a hold up in traffic! That just comes to show that we were getting close!
Once again with traffic and the time being 10:30am... It was time to check Instagram, Twitter,Snapchat, and Facebook for set times! This time “Journey’s” posted the full schedule for the “Journey’s Left" and “Journey’s Right" stages. So we got times for some of the bands on our list like State Champs, Set it Off,Mayday Parade, and The Maine. Even though yesterday, I was being a good friend and letting my friend see her all time favorite band “The Maine" (don’t get me wrong, I love their music too) ... Today we had decided to make the band that I've been dying to see “I SEE STARS" the #1 priority! So Yes... I was waiting for the band to post set and signing. But there was a lot of bands not posting, except the band “Issues” who are ALWAYS on top of their schedule! So thank you Issues for setting a good example for the other bands!
As we got closer and closer to the Palace, I was getting more and more excited and praying that today would be a great day! As they always say “Warped Tour" is suppose to be “THE BEST DAY EVER"! We got in and to park it was $20... So that made us think that THIS better be worth it! As we parked and got out the security for this one was more high and secure. As we were lining up to get in, I saw my neighbor/ childhood freind, and she was lining up to get in as well! It was funny actually, because usually I never run into anyone I know at these concerts.
Once we got through security, it was time to begin day #2, and YES! Tempetures was rising. First thing on our list as always was to get the schedule, and when that was checked off, it's time to check signing time and stop by tents. Although my friend already met The Maine 2 times, I still wanted her to at least get a picture again, to document Warped Tour, and we saw John from The Maine at their tent and there was a line but it wasn’t bad, but we decided to continue to search for the stages, signing, and set times! Yes, we did find the set and signing time for I See Stars!Thank God they were going to be on later and sign later!
After we made our round around the parking lot! It's performance TIME! NEXT Chapter to come!
Sincerely, Kara <3
