It's completely up to the viewer how they want to interpret and engage with art.

If someone finds joy in reimagining characters and settings, that's their business. It doesn't mean they dislike the original source material; they're just having fun with it!

To address the desire to find fan content that follows the source material to the letter: Totally valid. Completely, 100% valid.

People who realize they're mischaracterizing characters and settings should flag fics they write as OOC and/or AU (or any equivalent tags). People who are trying and failing to follow source material to the letter should try to be open to polite, constructive criticism. People who believe the person is falling to follow source material should be open to debating, should the author of the fan content disagree.

I will not be linking the tweet, but I feel like addressing things mentioned (because my anxiety won't let me ignore it without explaining myself further).

1) I put it in the tag because it was relevant. In the future, assuming I actually use this site much, I will likely avoid tagging things like this with fandoms, so I don't open myself up to more rude comments and unwanted screenshots.

2) Edgeworth has no canon sexuality, as far as I know. People can headcanon however they see fit.

3) I don't recall addressing you with this. If I'm "in your house", it's because you dragged me in there. I want less to do with you than you did with me, apparently.

I headcanon him as asexual, demi-romantic. I think flirting would go over his head regardless of who it was.

It's true that the fandom surrounding these games has changed a lot since they first came out. I see less of the stereotyping and more of the people shipping Edgeworth with Phoenix seem to be actually LGBT, as opposed to the large concentration of straight-identified yaoi fangirls I used to mostly see shipping it.

I actually used to see people all the time insisting that the ruffles were proof he was gay. It felt very much like it was rooted in stereotypes and gave off an impression of homophobia (at least that's how it looked to me).

I still associate the NaruMitsu/Wrightworth ship with those impressions in my mind, whether I want to or not.

All that said, I believe people should be allowed to ship whatever they want, regardless of how I feel about it. If people enjoy NaruMitsu, I'm happy for them!

Why do you hate narumitsu!?

Honestly, I just don’t see Edgeworth as gay. I feel like people headcanon him that way mostly because of his sense of style and his softer features, and that kind of rubs me the wrong way. Maybe not all fans of the ship are like that, but I’ve seen quite a bit of that.

I’ve also just grown tired of seeing the ship everywhere. Maybe I’m feeling bitter because NaruMitsu and NaruMayo make it harder to find MitsuMayo. I do admit that I wish there was a lot more MitsuMayo… 

That said, I don’t have anything against those who ship NaruMitsu in general.

Redoing this, now that I’ve been diagnosed with IBS. The first time I did this, I got 0. Now, it’s more like... 2, lol. I won’t drink milk or eat yogurt, because I’ve realized I’m lactose intolerant. I’ll still eat cheese and ranch dressing (in moderation), because that’s usually fine if I take a lactase supplement. Blue cheese is pretty low lactose, so I don’t usually even need a supplement for that, so long as I take it easy.

I tend to avoid apples, garlic and onions, along with wheat bread, but I cheat sometimes, because I love them. Then I regret it.

I haven’t been on Tumblr in a long time, but I logged back in to reblog this.

I saw this gallery on Pixiv, and I felt my heart leap right out of my chest when I saw it, because it exactly reminded me of a fanfic I wrote. I was telling myself that it would be completely unreasonable to assume that these pictures were based off of my story, but I looked up the artist on here to see if I could find more info.

I audibly gasped when I saw that they were, in fact, inspired by my fic Moonlight!!!

I wrote that fic years ago, but it makes me so happy to see my work inspiring artists like this. Especially at a time where I’m having a harder and harder time getting inspired to create things myself.

Thank you for this, even if you didn’t draw it specifically for me. I absolutely love the style! I think I’d like to use the last picture as a phone background, even if the dimensions aren’t right for it.

Xenoblade 2 anon: wouldn't it be cool to have Infinite from Sonic Forces as a Blade? (No I'm serious) I ask this because Infinite’s theme was on a music playlist and I couldn’t help but notice that in the lyrics, he says "I'm am a dangerous Weapon" and "I'm the sharpest of Blades".

To answer your question, though... Yeah, that could be pretty cool! He even has the Phantom Ruby where a core crystal could be. He’d be pretty OP as a Blade, though. That’s my only real concern with the concept. Not that there aren’t, like, a million other OP Blades, though, so I guess that hardly matters.
