Mini Altar šŸ”® or how to transform a tiny box into Marry Poppins’ bag… or a TARDIS
Tumblr media
This little project is not completely finished, but I wanted to share this with you.
So far this ā€œTiny Altarā€ contains:
Seven gemstones (including clear quartz, rose quartz, sodalite, hematite, turquoise howlite, cornaline and tiger eye) and I think to add more in the future
A tiny white sage incense stick
A tiny bell
Two bottles (contains salt and ashes-for emergency black salt)
A clear quartz pendant I use as a pendulum
A hand-sewed black imitation leather pocket for my pendulum (I am against all kind of animal products)
Pink papers
The box itself had been customised with sticky papers I customise after. This includes:
A pentacle with the elements symbols (air, fire, water, air, spirit) - inside
A pendulum map made with the actual answer of mine, with French annotations - outside
The wheel of the year (not finish) - outside
And to show you how small this box is… here is a picture of it in my hand.

As small as a baby’s hand šŸ’œ

A friend of mine has a stomach virus working it’s course, so as you can imagine, she is dealing with some discomfort. I decided to do a little kitchen witchery to whip up some thing that will hopefully give her a little bit of symptom relief.
Here is the recipe, the ginger is the best part! 🧔
Amounts of everything vary, I was making enough for a few cups so my amounts were larger, you can make as much or as little as you’d like.
I find this is good for general tummy upset as well as menstrual cramps.
So for the tea:
Chamomile
Lemongrass
Spearmint
Vanilla
Steep with hot water as normal, then strain (or if using bagged teas, throw out bags)
Chop or shred some fresh ginger root (with any recipe, i like to really think about the wonderful benefits the ingredients are going to provide as i do this.) simmer in a pot of water for around 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally (with healing and soothing intent! ā¤ļø) add cinnamon and honey (to taste) Strain and then add to your tea. ā˜•ļø
Note: The ginger is a very warming ingredient, so it’s best to add your ginger mixture to your tea a little at a time and taste as you go. You can use a little or a lot, it’s all up to you.

Pisces Zodiac Potion
To protect someone you care about, or even yourself, this potion is great! Ā
Remove the quartz after 10 minutes in the warm water. The hair has to be of the person you want to protect. Once its out , blow off the candles and bury outside the remaining lavender and hair.
The quartz has to stay with the person who needs to be protected so give it as a gift or if its for yourself, keep it in your room near. ā™”

SAMHAIN MASTERPOST
Tumblr media
When is Samhain? October 31st to November 1st. It is the halfway point between the Autumn equinox and Winter solstice!
What is Samhain? AĀ sabbat marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of the darker half of the year. It is also a time to pay respects to and remember the dead. It is also sometimes called theĀ ā€œWitches New Year.ā€
Activities to celebrate Samhain may include, but are certainly not limited to:
Taking a nature walk to enjoy the last bits of the harvest season before the cold sets in.Ā
Decorating your home with seasonal decor and autumnal colors (foods of harvest like corn, acorns, pumpkins etc. make good decor)
Set up an altar to honor your ancestorsĀ
Prepare a nice dinner and set places for those who have passed
Tell stories about those who have passed with shared loved onesĀ
Visit the cemetery for your own loved ones and for those who do not have anyone left who remember them
Hold a seance
Any type of divination/divinatory guidance
Join the community! No need to celebrate the entirety of the holiday with others as Samhain is probably the most private of all the Sabbats, but hosting or attending a ritual or feast can’t hurt anything.
Foods/Herbs/Spices associated with Samhain:
allspice berries
broom
catnip
mountain ash berries
mugwort
mullein
oak leaves
rosemary
sage
pine cones
straw
corn
turnips
apples
gourds
nuts
mulled Wines
beef
pork
poultry.
I hope you all have an amazing Samhain, and I also hope you are just as excited as I am for the new season!

Pocket Altar
I made my pocket altar with all the essentials I use in spellcraft. I’m missing a small cloth that will complete the bundle but aside from that its ready to use.
Tumblr media
Don’t mind my sad attempt to decorate lol.
Tumblr media
Theres enough room for a small cloth to sit atop everything.
Tumblr media
So inside the tin I glued a match strip and I made a bundle of matches with a cord that I can use for knotwork, binding, or circle casting and I can use it for my pendulum too.
I have a small bag of salt, some tobacco to substitute for any poisonous herbs a spell may call for and some rosemary to sub in for any regular herbs a spell could call for.
I have two crystals, one that I can use for quick pendulum questions using the cord or as a crystal wand and a tumbled one that I can quickly enchant to replicate any properties I may need it to do passively.
I have a bell for cleansing a space when incense cannot be used as well as the brown incense for cleansing a space too.
I have a tiny pencil I got from Ikea that I can use to write sigils or intent down as well as it doubles as a mini wand too.
The red Incense cone is my homemade Spellcraft Incense recipe designed to bolster your spells power. I have an shell for burning the incense on as well.
I have a white candle for any candle magic I may need and I have little paper pads for sigils or taglocks that I can burn to activate or leave behind or bury etc.
Tumblr media
Lastly I have a 6 sided die for more complicated divination questions that a pendulum cant answer.
I also have a second pocket altar that is pretty much empty inside and I use it for when I have a spell planned that I want to do outside. I fill it with the necessary essentials and im off.

Just Stop! - Binding spell
Tumblr media
What you’ll need:
Picture of the person, or their name with a drawing of what they’re doing
Pen
String
Frost Salt
Write on the taglock stop! Leave me alone! Or my personal favorite fuck off. Bind it with a string, place in the frost salt and put it in your freezer until the spells worked its magic.
Once you feel the spell has manifested you can remove from the Frost salts and dispose of them.

Any tips on a portable altar? I have no where to set up my full altar, and I've seen many people use, like, altoid tins to hold their mini, portable altar, but I have no idea where to start with a mini altar.
Yes! I love making mini altars. Altoids tins are popular because they’re easy to acquire and beautifully subtle, but you can go with other tins or containers if you have something that feels right. To start, look at your practice as it stands and figure out the bare essentials of what you need. Walk through a typicalĀ ā€œritual in the lifeā€ and think about everything you touch, then find a way to include it! For example, a typical offering for me involves lighting a candle, naming some epithets, giving the offering, and then meditating in front of the altar. So a portable deity altar for me needs to include a candle (usually a tealight,) a way to light said candle, something to offer (bay leaves and incense cones are easy and don’t take up much space,) and a small token to fiddle with while I meditate like a coin or stone. I might decorate the inside and include epithets I use most often. Some people like to have the portable altars set up on the inside so you can pretty much just open it and go, other people use it as a storage container that they set up and put away. Both are fine as long as it works for what you need~
