hii rome! i hope you're doing okay <3

so, new day, new worries, right?

i've been going through some things. mainly -- stress, and whatnot. that balanced with the things i already deal with mentally. i can't tell if this is a good thing or not, i mean, i spent like 40 minutes just purely venting about it to apollon, i felt pretty zen afterward, but, it didn't really "help", you know?

a part of me thinks maybe its just another one of those like "ok, bawl your eyes out.... good, good. now you're so much more spiritual than you were prior to this, you're welcome" type of situations, but, i feel the same as i did when i had to let go of some of my deities because it was too much for me.

i don't know if this is because i'm trying to meditate on another deity or thinking of reconnecting/ect, but, it scares me. i don't wanna lose apollon because i'm too caught up in king asmodeus, or thinking of other deities.

i know it probably sounds stupid, but, i also don't want him to value me any less because we may end up spending less time together.

i don't know what's happening, and while it doesn't feel *good*, it doesn't -- feel bad either? i might be overreacting or, analyzing it too much, (something i need to desperately stop doing lol) but, it scares me not to think of it. not to think of him.

apollon isn't controlling to me, i don't think he'll just simply cut me off for all of eternity for what i'm going through, but, that's it. there's so many "but"'s happening right now. so many questions. i'm unlearning things i was so firm in, things i thought he said to me, thinking my pendulum isn't right anymore, and so on. it's super hard, and, i briefly think of simply stopping my spirituality all together because of it. but, if i did that, i'd simply lose myself again.

Sorry this took so long to get to, Nonnie!! Wasn't doing too well myself.

I'm sure Apollo understands, I believe they know what you're going through, what your thoughts concerning them are. Their Deities, after all.

Apollo will only leave if you learn His teachings and you're not devoted to Him/He's not your patron/etc. As far as what you've told me, I believe he'll stick around for a while longer.

Apollo won't abandon you, especially not because of you taking the time to learn about other Deities and working with/worshipping another Deity. Your time is limited and Deities know that, they know you can't dedicate all your time to Them.

I can assure you, with 100% confidence, Apollo won't value you any less, at all. Again, your time is your time, spending less of your time with a Deity isn't a crime.

I think at some point, every pagan, every polytheist, every wiccan, witch, and spiritual person, finds a point in their practice where they feel stuck. Lost may be a better word.

Your teachings may be slipping, your confidence in divination may be plummeting; your practice just seems to crumble around you.

Your gunna be ok. Your practice is yours, and it's your choice. It could be seasonal depression depending on where you are, it could be flat out depression too. Abandoning your practice is your choice, and um sure what ever you decide you'll be ok.

Maybe cleanse your space, egg cleanse yourself, and cleanse your tools. Take a breath, maybe say a prayer, meditate. Things will be ok. Everything is gunna be ok Nonnie<3

THE INTERNAL FIGHT I HAD WITH MYSELF OVER THOSE OPTIONS IS SO CONCERNING 😭😭 /sillywilly

i had to pick a neutral option because i feared like, its so stupid, but i had this thing say like "ohh wings are like so important to our relationship with apollon lets choose that" but then like "ok but if we get close enough to asmodeus for nicknames & symbols or whatever then we'll feel bad so" does that make sense????? im sorry lol

i decided to go with🦉because owls are my newest special interest at the moment, i hope thats ok!! (& speaking of nicknames, THANK YOUUU for wanting to give me a proper way of addressing, i love nicknames so much, ugh)

but, i don't wanna overwhelm you or anything with my questions, so i'll for 1 make this the last one for the day, and 2, do you have boundaries do you have that i should keep in mind?

and, you said anything can be devotional, how i can decide whats big and whats not.. thats so freeing but so worrying lol. like we know, i cant practice openly, so i try to do "discreet" things. for apollon, i paint for him, devote a plush and give offerings of matching jewelry, ect. i find it super easy to do devotional things! but, with the way i've seen people paint infernals in general online, it scares me to think i'll be like "my king!! (insert nickname or smth), i made you this!" or "i did this in honor of you!" and him going "... ok??"

i actually used to work with dionysus! (i plan to continue when i move out, but,) unfortunately i did have to distance myself and focus on a single deity, because i suck at multi-tasking my worship, and i have a serious fear of spending "too much" time with a deity, or, "too little." i don't want any of my deities to feel "unloved" or something because i feel shy or something around them at first.

i don't wanna seem weird, or cringey. especially with how sometimes i'll have to just randomly put up my pendulum or something in the middle of a conversation because my mom walked in or something.

i've seen a lot of people say "oh lucifer hates people with trauma" or something, and i know asmodeus isnt lucifer, but it's a little scary to think i'll end up ugly-crying in front of him one day and he's just gonna disappear. i really hate the thought of being abandoned, especially by my deities, so i get so skeptical of them at some point. like, apollon was reassuring me like 5 times a day or something that he wasn't tricking me, hating me, going to just pack his bags and dip out randomly, ect. and it scares me to think asmodeus is going to see my trauma, and, idk, laugh? i know it ultimately comes up to how our relationship goes, but, i genuinely feel safe with king, he doesn't scare me, per say. i just, don't know.

I always, on all of my accounts, try to keep answers as long as I can; sometimes it's hard!

It means alot you'd even consider my boundaries!!

Honestly, I don't really care what's in my inbox! Vents, asks, questions, comments, corrections, concerns! I love it all!! If someone wanted to DM me I'd be ok there too! My only really trigger religion wise is cults, though I won't be getting into that ^^"

It's a very valid concern to worry about spending "too much" or "too little" time with your deities. I worry about that all the time with my five about to be six! I think you made the right choice going for something neutral!

I also understand, the gut wrenching fear of a deity abandoning you. It's not necessarily abandoning you. Many deities come with lessons, and once they've taught you their lessons, they'll leave.. It's sad, and hurts. When Lucifer and Lilith left me, it took everything in my power to not bawl. It hurt, but they had taught me what I needed to know, and knew I would be ok without them by my side.

Deities may be made out as if they don't want anything to do with your life outside of worship, but that's how you build a more personal relationship! Ugly crying in front of your deities isn't anything to apologize for, it's human. Naturally and truly human. You don't have to apologize for being human.

Deity work is alot, but i truly believe you'll make it through without being abandoned.

You can decide what's "big" and "little" based off anything! Expense, size, how it looks, etc!

All of these things can make something a big or little offering or devotion. But even if something dedicated to a deity isn't indicative of how worthy it is of a deity!

ah! that makes me so happy to hear <3 i struggle with a lot of like, mental things & stuff that make it hard to decide if someones calling out or not, so thank you for being so nice and concise about your answer!

honestly, the way i reached out to apollon was by the same thing. him whispering his name into my head and i just went with it. it's weird, i genuinely used to be so quick to research and whatnot whenever i felt pulled to a deity but, growing a little more into my practice, i realized i take it so much slower? i can't decide if that's a bad thing, lol

but, do you have any advice on how i should approach deities? i'm still sort of new to this type of thing, like, a month or somewhat into it. and struggle with yk, being unsafe to practice how i want. it hurts my head to think about how i might be praying the wrong way or something. the infernal deity in question is asmodeus, and i've had a hard time researching him in a way but from what some people on witchtok have said about him, it makes me so nervous as to accepting his calls. i also have abandonment issues. so. it makes me a little more inclined to sort of "watch the phone ring until it goes away", yk? but i really like him. i wanna talk to him and get closer to him, since he's been persisting me for a long-ish time now.

people have said he'll demand huge offerings, huge rituals, ect. that terrifies me, because, im in the closet about what i do, lol. so i cant have candles, sages, buy offerings, build him a fancy altar, ect. (i mean hell i literally JUST put up a *shelf* altar for apollon earlier today. that's the most i can do, and it scares me to think of disappointing them. especially since people say "make it worth their time", ect.)

If you've seen any of my other posts, you'll know I believe deities understand. And I thoroughly do! To my core.

Deities know when things interfere with the mortal and mundane worshipers. They get it, they would be kind of off without the ability to just know.

On the same foot, some deities enjoy (enjoy, not require) large offerings, and devotional acts, and rituals, but it's not a requirement. Especially when in the broom closet!

You won't be disappointing anyone, or anything, for that matter. You are worth anyone and everyone's time.

I actually love the little shelf altar for Apollo! Right now, Apollo shares an Altar space with Dionysus, and soon to add Hermes (and others but they'll all have different spaces).

Im sure if thats all you can do, King Asmodeous wont mind. Deities are very understanding entities, especially with all the drama that (usually) happens in mythos.

Lets say He is a deity that prefers large rituals, offerings, and devotional acts, your the one that dictates what "big" or "little" means in that situation. It's your practice so words like "big" and "little" are relative to you and your abilities.

When I approach Deities, i take it slow or fast, all depending on the nature of the deity. The same goes for entities. Since King Asmodeous is, well, a King, i recommend taking it slow and respectfully! If you cant have candles and such, i recommend getting a little (easily hide-able) bowl ! This can serve either as an Altar or an offering dish! You can add just about anything to it, and that will serve as you reaching out to a deity. You can also pray over these offerings as a more direct reach out.

Then onto my next point: Take things as slow/fast as you deem comfortable.

Not "necessary", not "acceptable", comfortable.

I really love hammering home "This is Your practice" because it is! No one else can dictate what's "too slow" or "too fast" thats yours to decide!

Research is a wonderful thing to do even if it slows down how fast you start working with an entity/Deity. Sense your the one risking being wrong, and doing all these devotional things in the end, the choice is up to you how much research you put forward in the beginning!

One last point before i go:

Anything can be devotional, anything. I mean it! Time doing research about my deities is how i continue to feel close to them, your dedicating time to them. That in and of itself builds a bond like no other!

hi!! so, i've just discovered your account, and -- wow. honestly, i love your vibes! i hope that doesn't sound weird, lol.

but, i wanted to ask, if anything can count as a deity reaching out, does that mean if you feel, let's say, particularly drawn to a deity. like, sort of their name being whispered in your head from time to time, the thought of them making you happy, ect, does that mean it could possibly be some sort of sign?

i work with mainly greek/norse deities, and i've been a little scared of following my huge interests into the infernals, since, i'm just sort of now getting the hang of what i went through a while back. i have a specific deity who keeps coming to mind whenever i think of reaching out to a new deity, but i have such a huge fear of rejection, it's hard to juggle both my curiosity and that, lol.

Yeppers! I thoroughly believe anything counts as a deity reaching out! Especially the way you described it!

"whispered in your head from time to time, the thought of them making you happy, etc" is a perfect example of a deity reaching out! It's personal, it's direct, this is a message!

I also have an immense fear of being rejected, especially by deities. But a large part of deity work, is the risk of reaching out! You've got this Nonnie!!

The Infernals are your interest, so reach out to them. I getcha! While this sounds redundant, and repetitive, and you hear it everywhere: you never know until you try.

And hey, let's say this doesn't end how you want; We'll be here. This blog will be here to comfort you, your community will be here to comfort you.

I'm so tired of practicing alone. Physically, yes; but i also just feel so separated from the community.

I want people to stop saying there's a specific way to pray, worship, work with, devote, honor, or practice within hellenic polytheism.

But on the physical hand, i want people to dance in the sunlight with me as we pray to our gods. I want to be surrounded by like minded people as we practice what makes us and our religion ours.

I feel connected to so many deities, but i have so little money, energy, and space to do anything for them.

So I'm writing this to anyone who thinks they're being reached out to by a deity.

- Anything counts as a Deity reaching out.

~ Yes, anything. While a Deity reaching out is highly personal and tailored to the individual, something as simple as "i want to work with [blank]" or "i feel called to/drawn to [blank]" can be a sign said Deity is reaching out

- You Don't, by any means, have to have extravagant altars for your deities.

~ Especially if you're disabled, low energy, or forbidden from practicing. Your Deities understand, and want you to be safe and healthy! Your altar can be in a match box, an altoids can, a tictac container. If it works for you, it's good enough.

- You don't have to have dedicated/dressed/fancy candles. You don't have to have candles, period.

~ You don't have to have anything for a deity. And if you feel required to have something for a deity, get them a rock, or dedicate a piece of clothing with their colors. Your Deities appreciate your hard work.

That's all I can think of right now and hopefully this helps someone.

I should really learn to take my own advice, but its easier to put my thoughts out there so i can see them

I interpret Apollo's presence like a warm hug. Ya know how when you get out of a cold pool and then there's a direct ray of sunshine on your back? Thats Apollo in my eyes

Apollo is a very energetic Deity, he likes making his flame dance, or stand tall.

Dionysus on the other hand is calmer (not calm but calmer) he likes when his flame is tall and swaying. Never more than a sway.

The two very much go hand in hand, two chaotic and "out of the norm" Deities brought together on one altar. I feel like their energy is very helpful for bringing me out of the depressive episode I've been experiencing. I feel free when I light Apollo and Dionysus's candles. I feel flawed and broken, but whole and perfect in my own way.

While I'm nowhere close to being as good, and as healed as I want to be, I've taken a step in the right direction, and i'm excited to have Apollo and Dionysus by my side for this next chapter of life
