💨🎯 The Fat Whooooosh 💨🎯 Too often I see people giving up on their new fitness journey so quickly. One of the main reasons for this is failing to set realistic expectations and to also understand the physiology of fat loss. When going after a fat loss goal there is one major thing to understand and that is how fat loss will present itself in terms of measurements. Now I always plan for my clients to lose 500g of fat per week. Doesn't seem like much, but I find that this is a healthy amount to lose and is sustainable in the long run... By that I mean no crash dieting with the common rebound effect of gaining more fat back after you've reached your goal and have gone back to a 'normal' eating routine. However sometimes either that amount of weight loss doesn't occur or it's not enough for some clients. It's at this point that it's so crucial you understand the physiology of fat loss so you don't give up out of disappointment. First off every person is born with a predetermined amount of fat cells. These cells work like batteries and fill up with fat in order to store energy for a time of need. However most of us never get into a "time of need" and therefore keep loading fat into these cells. When weight loss occurs either activity is so high or calories are low enough for your body to need more energy to maintain bodily functions. At this point it utilises fat from the cells for energy. And this where it gets interesting. When the cell empties quickly during a period of rapid fat loss the body fills it with water to reserve the space for fat when your caloric intake rises again. This means it appears both on the scales and the measurements that no or little progress has been made. Then after a few weeks the body realises it doesn't need to keep these cells open for refilling and it lets the water out. And suddenly down goes the measurements and the reading on the scales. The message here is that don't give up. Trust the process. 🚧 BIOHAZARD 🚧 😂 I was hoping to have a sauerkraut recipe for you all this week, but it turns out after waiting 3 weeks for my first batch to ferment I've used the wrong type of container and it's all gone mouldy 😭 oh well lesson learnt... I thought. I've now redone it in a new container, but Instead of reading the recipe correctly I've gone and over salted the batch which will stop the good bacteria from growing. 🍁🌴 Homemade Probiotic Coconut Yogurt 🌴🍁 So this is all you will need to make your own probiotic coconut yogurt: 🌴 1 litre of coconut cream 🐛 Probiotic starter culture or 3 probiotic capsules per 330mls 🍁 1 tablespoon of maple syrup per 330 🥛 Clean Jar Heat coconut cream in a pot till it comes to a light summer. Remove from heat and mix in probiotics or starter culture and the maple syrup. Place mixture in a jar and leave in the sunlight on a window sill or in a hot water cupboard for 12-24 hours. Then place in the fridge for a another 24 hours.
