I love the dynamic in the Discworld fandom on this site, I think it's mainly because there are a lot of dormant fans, if you will, who've read and loved the books for years but haven't engaged much recently, who sort of reappear whenever a fun post is doing the rounds. It's fantastic. We get the cozy small fandom vibe without the screaming matches, but also get the popular posts from time to time, y'know?

Okay so remember that ridiculous batfic I wrote—Batstarion’s New Groove (Tumblr/AO3)?

Apparently he’s real now.

Someone just bought a shirt I designed featuring this dramatic little gremlin (my first sale ever!), and I can’t stop laughing because this is 100% what he’d do: roll a 1, burst into tears, and somehow turn a small profit.

Anyway, Batstarion lives. He cries. He merchandises.

As a side note… I am really annoyed by one thing about Star Trek.

“Replicated food is not as good as real food.”

That’s ridiculous.  In Star Trek, replicator technology is part of the same tech tree as transporters.  Replicated food would be identical to the food it was based on, down to the subatomic level.

The Clearest Images of Jupiter ever taken

These beautifully real images are some of the closest images of Jupiter. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest in the Solar System. It is a gas giant with a mass more than two and a half times that of all the other planets in the Solar System combined, but slightly less than one-thousandth the mass of the Sun. The original image was captured by JunoCam, the camera on NASA's Juno mission in orbit around Jupiter. This image was taken on Juno's 22nd close pass by Jupiter on Sept. 12, 2019 with image processing done by Prateek.
