It's been a few days, now, and it still doesn't feel real. The idea that we might now live in a reality that got robbed of Kim Jung Gi just seems so absurd, unthinkable. It can't be. I still feel like he's just somewhere momentarily away from the public eye and everyone else, and that he'll be back to us later. But he won't. And that recurring realization always makes it feel like the World and its Art Community is so incredibly emptier, today. He was an inspiration and an art wizard at the eyes of beginners, professionals and his fellow art masters alike. He was one of the best of us. And now we hold the responsibility of taking the lessons learned from him and honoring him by keeping on drawing and never ceasing to better ourselves. I did a quick sketch for him. To mark the day we lost him while remembering how we were so lucky as to have been contemporaneous with one of the greatest to have ever picked up a brush, a pen or a pencil. Thank you for everything, Kim Jung Gi. We miss you too much already. Last Thursday was my birthday. It was also my youngest nephew's (also godson's) 6th birthday. He shares my very good taste in superheroes so as part of his gift I've decided to make him a short and custom Spidey coloring book. These are a few snippets of the end product. This was also a great opportunity to dive into, study and practice a more stylized kind of work, which I haven't been as familiar with.
