Hey there, everyone. I’m Dave. I’m the proud father of three amazing kids and apparently also the grandfather of a robot, a bird, and a dog. Our family is very strange, but I wouldn’t want to be a part of any other one. I write songs for a living and sometimes that’s tougher than it sounds.I also support my kids and their friends on their journey to become famous rockstars and popstars.

“Happy Father’s Day to our dear old dad!” @davidrossseville
“I hope you enjoy your complimentary lunch we made especially for you. You sacrifice so much for us and we don’t always put that in perspective when criticizing you. You are the best father any of us could ask for and we’re so lucky that you adopted us.”

“I need more hobbies.”
“But I’m not sure if I have time for any yet. I hear hobbies help you get inspiration.”
“I need inspiration. I have a killer case of writer’s block again.”

“Today’s been an interesting Sunday.”
“First, Alvin woke up at the crack of dawn to climb on the roof and watch the sunrise. Theodore heard him and thought he was the boogyman.”
“Then, Simon and I played a game of Trivial Pursuit which was interrupted by Geizmo running into the room screaming about Warbie knocking down his Lego castle.”
“After that, the Chipettes stopped by for lunch and Eleanor pranked Alvin with some hot sauce filled pizza rolls as a late April-Fools joke.”
“Simon accidentally pulled a muscle in his back and I had to rub ointment on him.”
“Derek showed up with Eleanor for round 2 of the pranks. My car was covered in silly string.”
“I called Officer Dangus and he made Derek and Eleanor apologize and then took them for a ride in his cop car.”
“I got a call from him 30 minutes later saying that he lost Eleanor.”
“By dinnertime, I was about ready to fall over, so I took a nap on the couch. I woke up with Brittany testing her new makeup on me.”
“There was more, but I think you get the idea. Never a dull moment with my family.”

“Aha! So the listening to music thing DOES actually help me focus and it’s not just some placebo.”
“See!? I told you I wasn’t lying, Dave.”

Here's the Christmas story this year! It's Dave and Officer Dangus focused, but it's still got some of the kiddos in it too!
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

“Here’s how the parent teacher conferences went…I’m a bit surprised.”
“Theodore received a glowing review from each of his teachers. He’s been working hard and helping others. The other students in class love him as much as the teachers do. He’s behind in math, but Jeanette offered to tutor him. All in all, he’s doing wonderful. Mr. Dotson is looking forward to working with him on the school play.”
“Simon’s been keeping on top of his studies as well. His grades are the usual top marks, and with the addition of his study hall class, he’s had more time to relax. All the teachers say he seems more friendly and personable and less of a grouch. He also has excelled far beyond the requirements for his computer science class this year so far. That’s something he struggled with previously.”
“As for Alvin, his progress is a mixed bag. Miss. Smith says that he’s on top of EVERYTHING but he didn’t get on top of everything until October started. She says his behavior in September was incredible and almost TOO calm and quiet. Then, he flipped back to being “a nuisance.” Currently, she says he appears to be putting all his energy into doing the assignments and not enough into holding himself back from disrupting class. Coach Dopkins said that Alvin’s enthusiastic about gym class again, after barely caring the first month of the school year. Dr. Hayward says that he’s a pleasure to have in computer science class. And as always, Dr. Wilson is thrilled to have a student as attentive and passionate about the material as Alvin.”
“I guess this means he was right about the ADHD meds making it hard to enjoy things and making him too calm and focused. The fact that he’s suddenly ahead in so many of his classes immediately upon getting off the meds is very difficult to believe, but the progress report doesn’t lie. He’s never had an A in math before. Whatever he’s doing, I hope he keeps it up. (Though maybe he can still work on being less of a nuisance for Miss. Smith.)
“I’m taking them all out to the mall for a treat today. They’re such hardworking kids and they deserve this weekend to chill.”

“I suppose I should post more life updates.”
“Simon and I are working on a new song together. It’s about how much he loves autumn.”
“Theodore is going to teach me how to bake pumpkin spice drop cookies. They sound delicious.”
“Alvin says “we need to talk” and I am sure it’s because he’s got complaining to do.” 🙄
“I just wish I knew how to connect with him better.”

“Alvin’s up to something again. I can feel it. Miss. Smith says she wants to discuss his behavior at the next parent teacher conference.”
“He’s been a delight at home. But, he is starting to revert back to struggling with his schoolwork. I suspect he has stopped taking the ADHD meds even though the deal was one month of taking them. He can’t adjust if he doesn’t allow himself time to.”
