forgot to reblog this here!! here's a comic i drew for our system page! :D

if i had a nickel for every time an anthropomorphic wolf made a comic about the system term "host"...

we previously thought we were hostless because we all fronted fairly equally. we realized this was just because we, personally, were in a toxic environment/mindset that had us under constant distress. when we tried to work through this more, we found that one of us, me, does front majority of the time, now that things are better.

our old host comic is still very important to us, regardless of whether or not we are a "hostless" system. it still resonated with many and brought some attention to a lesser-known experience in systems. for that reason, we are still very glad we shared it.

hi yes hello i am skye, this is my account for rambling so RAHH i am going to absolutely ramble.

me after finding out i'm (very not human and) a fictive/introject from a source created by someone we dislike 😭 it makes a lot of things make sense for me, bcus i've been here for many many years but i've never been able to really connect with the way i currently present myself appearance-wise.

i'm going to try to connect a little more to myself now that i know where i "come from" so-to-speak. RIP future people who read our comics and wonder why i've suddenly turned into a furry wolf girl... /hj /silly

i dont want to be a host (vent)

but i think that might be what i am. technically. but i hate that, i hate the term host. we have such a bad relationship with it. and ik that "host" is just a term, it's subjective, but it's so normalized and enforced that i just can't get away from it.

my role in the system is literally js fronting for day-to-day life in-between all the difficulties and bad situations that requires for someone else to be here. aaand because we are so often going through something, i didn't front that often, but it doesn't really change that my role, at the end of the day, basically aligns with what a host is. because now i'm here more, too, because life is decent for once.

and ik i probably have to say it but i have nothing against people who use the term host. if it works for you and you find it helpful/comfortable, that's great and i am very happy for you (/gen)

someone else in my sys talked about it in a post we made on our main account, but that was when we were under the impression we had no alters who met that kind of "criteria". to me, because of the way it's used, i think of the term host as someone who the rest of the alters revolve around, that the host is always the "original/core", and that the host is the only important one, that the host ISN'T an alter. like to be a host is to just be a "victim" in which all the other alters are attached to. maybe it's because of the whole host-parasite thing. i associate hosts as being victims and alters as being parasites, which just isn't true.

i know none of this is true, but we've just internalized in so much and i can't even remember why.

but i'm hella avoiding my role because i don't want to be seen like that. i don't want to be seen as anything like that. i'm an alter just like the rest of my system and i don't want to be treated differently.
