This campaign is dedicated to treating Amir. Amir suffered from a lack of oxygen at birth and muscle relaxation. Amir's condition was very bad, but with physical therapy and physiotherapy, he finally started moving. But with the war that broke out in Gaza, all physical therapy centers were closed, medicines were rare and sometimes absent, and their prices rose. Amir's condition began to get worse and worse. Amir must return to his physical therapy, and he has the right to return to walking. This situation is special and exceptional.

Amir must leave Gaza, complete his treatment, and live like any child in the world. There are no necessities for living in Gaza. It has become very difficult. The bombs that gather above our heads, poison us with the water we drink. There is no food except at fantastic prices. We suffer from high temperatures. Children who cannot afford it.

i genuinely hate how people have to sit and write a post that stands out while boosting a fundraiser because most people won't bat an eye at the misery and inhumane conditions Palestinians are living in.

i see people making art and telling others to use it because fundraisers with art are generally reblogged more often. i see people using colored text in order to make the post more eye catching.

palestinians on instagram are using popular audios and stitch trending reels at the beginning to make the world pay attention to them. imagine having to make something look entertaining in order to survive.

they are living under constant threat of israeli airstrikes, bombing, scarcity of food and disease. many have lost a lot in the past few months.

palestinians on tumblr are posting their pictures and the horrible conditions in which they are living. they travel long distances for internet connection only to be called a scammer by some privileged ass who cannot locate gaza on a map.

I'm Abdelrahman, 22 years old. My journey has been marked by loss and resilience. When I was 18, my father passed away from COVID-19. However, the war in Gaza, especially in the north, brought devastating tragedy. My home, university, job, and family were all destroyed in the conflict. While my family moved to the south, I was in the north, facing famine and moving from place to place, trying to survive.

Our street used to be lively and full of people, but it is no longer like that.

I have witnessed countless difficult and painful scenes while escaping death multiple times. In northern Gaza, life is reduced to a cycle of fleeing from danger and searching for food amidst the rubble of destroyed homes.

Now, my dream is to travel abroad with my mother and sister to continue my education and develop my practical skills. For the past eight months, I have been unemployed, focusing on self-improvement and hoping for a better future.

This is where your kindness and generosity can make a profound difference. Your support will help me rebuild my life and continue my education. It will provide us with the opportunity to escape the cycle of danger and destruction, and to work towards a future filled with promise and potential.

(answering through a reblog cos this is kinda long-winded. also fair warning: if anyone reading this is a maki fan, that's fine; i feel like this post has some harsh wording but i wanted to try and be as honest as possible so sorry if it's super blunt)

i find it interesting how despite maki saying she hates being an assassin, her immediate reaction to certain situations (like kokichi revealing her talent) is to try and kill him? especially given the consequences for murder within the killing game; it would absolutely cause more problems than it solves. and i know part of the appeal of her character is that "that's how she learned to resolve problems," but like. ending someone's *life*, especially a teenager who is annoying at best and intentionally antagonistic at worst (until late chapter 4, at least), is absurdly extreme. she's also the ultimate child caregiver; she obviously posesses other problem-solving skills...

also within chapter 5's class trial, the fact that she wanted to sacrifice everyone else just to kill kokichi? at that point in time, maki was under the impression they were the last people on earth. it wasn't like kokichi could hurt anyone else. so her plan was to stop him from forcing them to kill eachother... by killing everyone at once? it's a counterintuitive solution

and it's not like any of this could be excused with heat-of-the-moment decisions; maki's an *assassin*, of course she has to be able to make good decisions quickly. so for her to do all of these things so recklessly just because of the short-term benefits was extremely selfish of her. which doesn't mesh well with her backstory of becoming an assassin to help the orphanage, which is clearly meant to portray her as a selfless hero type to gain empathy

tl;dr: maki's main positive traits are directly disproven by her in-game actions, so i don't feel bad for her

(also i'm a kokichi fan so this may be biased)
