Part 2 of 2 of this exciting commission - I had planned to draw Copia as this statue for years because of how similar their faces are; to be able to do it as a commission was fantastic. Thank you so much!
I have heard from so many that they struggle to visualize Copia without the paints properly, so I decided to do these paintings for the paintfree Papas series as a little aid.
Bonus: Mustache (and slightly bigger sideburns) version, because I think it still fits his face very well and i actually preferred it.
And also did this to prove the "he's ugly without paints" people wrong
All you have to do is to fix the mouth issue of the mask and scale the head properly to his body/eyes/ears. Other than that i changed nothing - and boom! Pretty face!
Obviously it is not exactly the same face shape in the painted/unpainted version, because I'm not working digitally and can't just copy it for both paintings, but I tried my best to get them as close to the Source and each other.
If you read so far: Do you prefer a little commentary or should i shut up and just post my art?

Wanted to paint him as Papa IV but with his old Cardinal days sideburns and mustache - the ponytail came as a bonus because of the long hair at the end of the Re-Imperatour
Because it sadly doesnt show in the scan, have a short clip of the ✨spakly✨effect; i put metallic gold watercolours on the sheets and some of the pink around his head.
A lot of detail gets lost unfortunately when you scan drawings or paintings. There's always decisions to make: aim for something to look better for digital or in person audiences?
