The Twins

I was intrigued by the prospect of comparing Copia's and Perpetua's faces and it worked out really well! Rambling under the cut

I used Copia's pre-surgery face and a normal photo of Perpetua and expected that I'd have to do some heavy adjusting of the positions of various elements, but no! They fit extremely well, once you adjusted for latex mask oddities! The only thing needed was a slight adjustment for the tip of their noses (Copia's being longer than V's) and Perpetua is profiting from Copia's extremely luscious lower lip (made his a bit thicker too).

What I found really cool is how Perpetua's mask pays homage to Copia's facepaint, especially with the lower edge of the mask following the upper edge of the rat skull paint. That's genuinely one of my favourite details and was what made me want to do this drawing in the first place months ago!

I'm currently not actively selling full scale prints (I'm still looking into options where I can get prints in a quality i like that wouldn't cost an absolute fortune either!), but I do have small ones that i did a test run for - here's a selection of them: theyre 10x13,5cm.

I'll probably set up a kofi shop or something in the near future, but shoot me a message, if you want some of these, i'd sell this test run for about 6€ (less if you take multiple) each;

Are you a traditional or digital artist? :) the pictures of your works have such good quality it makes me wonder! If you draw traditional, do you scan your works by chance? I'm a traditional artist myself and I find it very difficult to take pictures in good quality!

thank you very much 💜 and yes I 100% work traditionally with pencils and watercolours!

For best results you will always have to scan them with an at least decent scanner (they really make a difference, unfortunately! especially pencil is difficult for many scanners in my experience) and correct scan settings (never use the "Black & White" setting, only greyscale, the Colour scan is also, at least with those I tried, not good for pencil, but obviously the only option for coloured art!). I can highly recommend buying one used - many offices throw printer-scanner-combos out very cheap when they move/close/replace their old stuff! But without a scanner it's essentially impossible, no matter how good phone cameras have gotten.

After scanning I almost always use photo editing software (Lightroom) on them because the scanner eats some contrast and colour (watercolour paintings look SUPER pale after scanning them!) to restore them to their original look and add some effects (with Photoshop) like the sepia and paper background effect on my sketches. Making the Scans presentable often takes quite a bit, depending on the artwork.

Here is a side-by-side view of what the scan of this painting looked like and what the painting looked like after doing a little bit of editing to revive the colours after the scanner murdered them all.

But I will also admit to using the editing software to optimise my art, erasing some little mistakes, removing spots on the background, making colours pop more than they do originally, darkening the shadows etc. I'm not ashamed of it - you just need to know if you make an artwork for digital or in person presentation.

Papa V without paints concept and with how the paints seem to be applied under the mask

After seeing photos that show that the paint ends right under the eyebrows and the nose also being free of paint I wanted to draw that as a joke - but that required coming up with a face for him. So here's the first test!

Bonus: Silly full facepaint concepts and some thoughts under the cut

I left the bottom half of the face at we see it on photos (apart from adding the cheek line), but for the top half I wanted him to look more like his twin. So I left the tip of the nose like TFs, but straightened the back like the Cardinal's and used Copia's forehead, eyebrows, cheeks etc. In that regard I'm quite happy with the concept so far. And when he does all the POTO things, then of course I'll add some scars.

He's playing up to eight (8) Meliora songs each night, so I assume he's a Fan of Papa III and I took some inspo from that guy's paints. not super happy with it, I think I'll dip into Copia's paints a bit more for version 2. The fully painted tip of the nose really makes it difficult, though

what is true? in your drawing the whole stomach is out and in your photo its barely a sliver of skin lol.

Sorry to snap at you but I got so many messages and replies with the same thing, and reading comprehension on the pissing on the poor website is just so bad.

My post with the Photo of some evidence of bush existing, here, is clearly labelled as "from a different evening and with less skin and hair than in Berlin"; it also says "Amsterdam" in the description and source link. So obviously it's from Amsterdam and not from Berlin, where the Berlin Bush incident happened as the name suggests.

My drawing is an artist rendition of one part of the Berlin Bush Incident (I saw it twice). The shirt DID ride up a lot. Much further up that in the photographer's pic from Amsterdam. I did a truthful rendition of it. Why would I lie?

tl;dr: Photo and drawing are from 2 different Rituals and therefore not identical. My drawing is truthful.
