Les Idées Nouvelles | New Ideas
A brushed wool scarf embroidered with gold and black damask.
A golden yellow taffeta java gown with a decorative triple bias strip of muslin.
A Marie-Antoinette style casaque in black velvet and white crêpe.
A canary yellow fleece and black poplin apartment jacket.
A casaque is a style of blouse popular in the 1920s. Marie-Antoinette style means that the casaque is tight at the waist and flared out, as opposed to the popular silhouette of the time - think peplum.

Womens' Spring Dress, 30 April 1834.
Rice straw hat decorated with feathers. Embroidered silk muslin dress with a seamless pelerine made of silk lace.
A pelerine is the cape-like or shawl-like garment worn over the shoulders of the dress. It could be attached to the dress but was most often a separate piece. In the 1830s, at the height of their popularity, they were usually made from lace or chiffon.
