and sometime’s it’s enough to not talk but just hold each other for a moment

and when the late night texts slowly begin to fade away, because you don’t have to hold onto 1 AM to slowly spill out your feelings, instead knowing that you’ll see them tomorrow and you can congratulate each other on sleeping properly

when you remember that you can touch them now and you can slide your hand into their’s without second guessing yourself, or they’ll just run their hands over your shoulders to remind themselves that you’re real

it’s that slowly moving into a place of content and realising that it’s not just a dream anymore

Hey guys!

A friend of mine got into Sciences Po in Paris and is due to move there in August of 2022.

She's having a very tough time trying to find accommodation that is within student budget!

It'll be great if someone who has knowledge regarding any hostel type setting accommodations, preferably near Sciences Po like Cité Universitérè, CROUS, etc. Please please help us out!

She's really stressing out because of the budget and also because she's still in the process of learning French so is unable to understand most websites!

I actually agree with this.

I recently started seeing someone (second person I have ever gone out with, first person to ever have any kind of a physical relationship with) and I really like them.

And this is not just a random infatuation (might be lmao) but I genuinely like their though-process and we vibe... I would love to be in a relationship with them or at least have a direction or a future.

But they made it very clear that they want a casual dating situation and that both of us can see, date and have sexual relations with other people. Like we don't even text much and never talk on calls (cause apparently this not what people who are dating casually do).

But whenever they're with me, they are present and just the best person ever.

But the absence.... I. Just. Don't. Like. It.

But I want them in my life so I'm not even saying anything... But as you said... I am settling and seeing other people cause apparently that's what I'm supposed to do in order to not catch feelings.

So yes, while I get that you can't get into a relationship right after you meet someone... But that "trial" period needs to end somewhere... It can't be perpetual.

I know in the future I'm going to be hurt so bad but I absolutely can't think about ending this myself at the moment and it's very sad.

When you question your own relationship and feel like he's just not all in he's on the fence 🙁

This is very true but I was recently having a conversation with a friend who was in public bus alone with 8 men (normally neither of us judges a person by their clothes or language but she was tense and really sacred). She sat near the back door (mistake) and sat near the window so the seat next to her was free (mistake). The conductor of the bus, after a while, came and sat right next to her.

Normally this is a not surprising at all and no one would think anything of this but keep in mind 1. It's dark 2. She's the only woman in the bus going through a deserted area 3. Literally has no way to escape if things go wrong.

She definitely automatically thought of the worst case scenario and took the next opportunity to get off the seat and stand near the door just waiting for it to open.

Next thing she sees is that the conductor also comes and stands next to her. She now literally looks terrified and thats when the conductor tells her that's he's sorry if he's making her uncomfortable but he knows the groups of men in the bus and they tend of catcall girls and create chaos.

Ofc she was relieved but immediately felt bad for judging the conductor.

But the issue here is... That yes ofc she thought of the the worst case scenario. Ofc she was scared and terrified and thought the worst of the person but that's entirely rational.

I realise I'm changing the topic a little but I'm too tired of this and we need to understand that sometimes the onus of responsibility is not on the person thinking the worst but on the other person.

Yes if there is a person who is a known fascist and someone is hanging out with them, me, a minority will think the worst

If there is someone who I heard once make a homophobic joke, me, a gay person would think the worst. And it wouldn't be my fault

And ofc if I see a man walking behind me in the dark maybe just cause he's in a hurry or whatever reason, me, a woman will think of the worst.

I realise this was a very sweet post about understanding people (which yes!!! in situation where your life or dignity isn't in danger) but there are situations where thinking the worst of people might just save lives.

Not to sound like a sap but I think we as a society would be so much better off if we stopped constantly assuming the worst of each other.
