Just a very quick update!

I didnt give up this blog or art!

I simply still have problems with my wrist. Been on medications for a while now which helps but doesnt fix the source of the problem. I seen my doctor as well and am now waiting for further exams and test to see what is that problem and what is the next step.

So for now whenever my wrist is at it's best, I will work on a commission for someone who has been way more than patient and understanding of my situation! (I dont deserve such a good customer and friend!! ;3; <3 )

Once this is done, ai will do my best to finish something I've been working on since January! (Same month my wrist decided to give up!)

Also I broke my glasses and need to get a new pair. Which costs money. Which I cant earn with commissions with my wrist. So this sucks! :')

But I promise I am still here, mostly active in the Ghoap discord server!

Please feel free to ask me things or send me messages! Ill reply to 99.99% of what I get!

I'd open commission as I prefer to earn money by working on things but...

Anon again. I am Choctaw indigenous. I feel it is important for other indigenous tribes to defend and support other tribes esp now. But to question that and use that as the reason for not listening at the possibility of me being non native is also a huge problem….?

See? It can be hard to know who is or isnt for a community especially online.

I will take it mor seriously now that I know you are not speaking for another community. There are just so many voices out there and so many opinions even within a community/group of people that it is very overwhelming and hard to be certain on certain topics.

As I said, I am open to learning and adapt but this is not something I personally did and feel a bit corned for simply sharing someone's art. I did not write the name of that OC in my reblog if I remember correctly exactly for that reason among other reasons. I will not censor someone's text as well. Or their tags.

I do not have the energy to keep going with this conversation especially since I am not the one who did something wrong. I feel a bit attacked (no matter if it was your goal or not) and so I will ignore any other messages on this topic. My mental health comes first and I must respect myself in this.

Just know that I am on your side and am only human. I hate when I see movies and such using culture's myths and stories without listening to the people. I usually avoid watching those as well if I am aware. And do my best to spread that information whenever I can.

But for now, in this case, I'm exhausted and innocent and want to be left alone and hope you will respect this. I really hope for the day this wont be an issue anymore, I do, But I dont think Ill witness it.

The term “w*nd*go” is a word derived from the indigenous Algonquin tribe of America that manifests pain, illness and death. Specifically the act of cannibalism and it’s really racist and racially insensitive to use the word without censoring it and stealing terms from indigenous tribes. I know it’s not your oc, you merely reblogged it, but it’s important to be aware of how using that term, indigenous or not, is dangerous. And using it as a non indigenous person is insensitive

It is indeed not my OC and I do know about it and to not use it. Im not a fan of the OC's name. I dont know if the artist isnt indigenous but I do know I shouldn't censor someone's OC name. They might be indigenous themselves. Also the OC's name makes sense with it's background. Maybe the OC didn't pick that nickname and someone else gave them that callsign as it is often the case in the army.

I appreciate your time to educate me but I already knew this. But I dont think I should censor that word in this context. I also believe that unless an indigenous person personally tells me that I should still censor it after being further educated on it, I shouldn't have to. Not that your concern isn't valid but too often people outside of a community will speak for and over them, often adding too much voices in a conversation and making it overwhelming for someone like me, neurodivergent and quite anxious about doing/saying the wrong thing, to find the actual point of view of said community.

I also believe that we shouldn't censor everything and every word that could be harmful, making it even more taboo, as it demonize that word even more and in my opinion makes it harder to have a conversation about it and as to why this word is wrong.

There is a time, place and context to take in consideration. I have a bigger problem with horror movies and TV shows creating monsters/killers based on and named after such indigenous creatures they asked us plenty of time not to use them for multiple reasons than someone making an OC with that name as a callsign that fits with their background/lore.

Also considering this isnt my OC, nor a friend of mine's OC, you could've messaged the artist instead of people who just want to share OCs and art on tumblr.

Again I appreciate that you just want to educate and help. But I am overwhelmed with all the Dos and Donts for many communities to the point of making me very sick and anxious. So I pick my battles to stay mentally sane and this isn't one of them. I'll instead keep spreading words about the injustice and pain the indigenous people are still suffering from today and spread the truth about how my country, Canada, treated them, my ancestors and their descendants still to this day which includes one of my good friend trying to get her culture back and embrace it.

Just to be sure since it is hard to read tone and intentions: You're all good. I am not angry. I am just very anxious at the moment and constantly fighting Intrusive Thoughts calling me Racist almost everyday due to my fear of hurting people with microaggression or saying the wrong thing. Intrusive Thoughts trying to convince me people will think I am a bad person and racist when I know I am not and have a lot to learn to be a better friend, ally and person.

My DMs are open if you want to chat privately on such subjects but know I have little energy per day for such conversations as it gets heavy fast for me and need to recharge.

Comics?

Hi Ghoap people! And shippers from the COD universe! I see comics are popular (Im also a sucker for those so dont worry!)

And I was wondering: What are the bare minimums for you to enjoy a comic? You see, I never really worked on a comic. I tried years ago for a project of some sort in my local area but never got anywhere. I always struggled with my art, perfection, proportion etc I put a lot of pressure on myself and projects a lot and either i dont do much effort or I do WAY too much and it burns me out. I get overwhelmed and it’s not fun. I am always feeling some imaginary pressure from others as I often got judged in the past and got my things examined closely and it started to get me paranoid and make me feel not good enough. Thats why I never published art before I joined Ghoap in over ten years or so. Im also terrified of art thieves and even more of all that AI shit going around. I want to be credited and known for my art, not be forgotten while my art keeps being reposted you know? SO if I were to make a comic (at least try) and tell a story, what are the bare minimums requirements? I see some comics have amazing art and I know I can’t deliver that. But I do see diversity of style from the 1Farm1 AU from Grimmzee to the Monster 141 AU from Bluegiragi to the CoffeeShop AU from Blueishfishfood and many more I’ve seen here and there. Some have backgrounds, some dont and some have simple elements. Some have amazing details and shading, some have basic shadings etc But what they all have in common is: getting proportions quite good if not excellent. And amazing angles instead of the basic standing/sitting. And all those nice facial expression that makes it nice to read what the character might feel. Especially the eyes for characters such as Ghost or Roach. Aaaand I know colors don’t matter. So at least there’s that. So what are the minimum requirements? I don’t expect doing amazing fight scenes like the Monster AU, I am clearly not that talented ahah but I know that it’s more interesting to have… something more than standing characters all the time. So please in the comments, let me know? Show me exemples? Doesnt have to be COD related but just comics from people around the internet who do it for fun and not professionals working for DC Comics for example ahah I just want to tell stories so badly but I know that writing is… a lot for me. Too much even. I’ll keep trying… but it’s complicated for now. And I know that comics are a great way to see your art get better with time! Lots of mangaka got better the more time passed so.. Why not me? Oh also another comic I’ve been following for years is A Tales of Two Rulers by Figmentforms And THAT is something I can never achieve. The attention to details and the shading and… UGH <3 But it still makes me want to tell a story. So please, comment and let me know! <3 Thank you! -Dexterlittle

Update

Some of you probably saw this in the past but My wrist been hurting and fucked since the start of January. I went 2 weeks ago to the emergency by my own to see a doctor. I spent about 15 hours waiting (Canadian health care for you. You pay with your time) and was prescribed medication. The pain is almost gone but my wrist still dislocate from time to time and I have to wear something to help it, especially at night since I am not aware of the position it’ll be in. That’s why you havent heard or seen from me in a while. I am on my second week of medication so round 2 if you prefer and hopefully wont need more. if i get a third round of meds and still dont have my wrist back to normal I will consult again. I should be able to start drawing again soon. I also got a brand new ipad that I am still setting up to be able to draw! I have a commission or two to finish but then Ill work on that secret project I did mention a while back! So look forward t this :) Until then feel free to check my ko-fi And check out my A03 page!
