Did you have a crush on any characters on tv or movies growing up?
I think the very first crush I ever had on anything or anyone was Ariel, the Little Mermaid. That movie was 1989, so I was like, six years old? Maybe seven?
The only other one was almost ten years later -- I've talked about my first exposure to anime being both Sailor Moon (weekday mornings) and Dragon Ball (Sunday mornings). Sailor Moon definitely came first, and at the age of around 14 years old, I ended up developing a crush on her. As in, Sailor Moon herself.
It was bad enough that the first internet girlfriend I ever had actually had, as I recall, "Bunny" as her username, after Sailor Moon. We even met in a Sailor Moon chat room on AOL!
It feels like a pretty basic pick nowadays but hey, I was 14, and the heart wants what the heart wants.

So it’s still MerMay so I had to draw Ariel. I’m really proud of how it turned out. ^^ I was able to find just the right colors for her.
