The best type of character is “character who is in every way a supervillain, but acts for the sake of others rather than selfish reasons” closely followed by “character who absolutely would’ve tried to destroy the world by now if not for this one ray of sunshine in their life who redeems them simply by accepting them for who they are”
I will accept debate on this but understand that you will be wrong

This probably ain’t gonna be popular on the tumblr website but fuck it no one reads my posts anyway
I feel like everyone has gotten so (understandably) disgusted with the process of late-stage unregulated capitalism that they’ve pretty much decided that the problem is capitalism as a whole is the problem, and I genuinely have to disagree with that.
We’ve pretty much been conditioned by our corporate overlords to think “this is what capitalism is” and that we have to either just live with it or completely overhaul our economic system in order to fix it. And not just OUR system, but quite literally the economic system running the vast majority of civilization.
I feel like that’s a pretty obvious gaslighting tactic, ain’t it?
Like…really? Our ONLY recourse to not be abused and taken advantage of then discarded by the system we survive in is to change the stars in the sky and rouse everyone in a revolution that will change the entire scope of our lives?
I think a lot of people forget that America in particular wasn’t always like this. There were many many regulations in place to prevent this exact scenario we’re living through from happening.
The thing that makes late stage capitalism “late-stage” isn’t the simple fact that it’s just been going long enough, it’s the fact that it’s been going long enough for multiple generations of wealth inheritors that don’t understand the concept of working for what they have to wear down the regulations in place that limited the scope of their wealth for the benefit of the economy.
I, personally, don’t believe that total revolution is the answer.
I believe that’s an idea planted in our heads to make the very concept of changing the way our society is working seem like a far greater and more exhausting task than it actually is, specifically in order to prevent us from trying to change it at all.
I believe in sustainable capitalism.
I LIKE capitalism.
I LIKE the idea that the amount of effort you put into something reflects in the amount you’re rewarded for it.
I LIKE the idea that someone can live solely off of something like art or entertainment just because they’re good enough at it to succeed.
And I LIKE the economic mindset of competion benefiting everyone in the long run.
These are all things that work WHEN THEYRE PROPERLY REGULATED BY LAWS
The problem isn’t “competition doesn’t work” or “generational wealth will always come out on top” or even “there’s no way to compete with larger businesses as a smaller company”
The problem IS “they repealed the law that prevents larger companies from lowering their prices below profitable to drive out small businesses” or “they changed the law to create a loophole and allow monopolies to exist” and especially “they lowered taxes on the wealthy to such a degree that no one has any money other than them and we can barely repair our roads or pay for more than 2 weeks of police training”
So yes
Rise up
But you do t HAVE to literally change the way society works to do it. There ARE checks and balances still in place that that this generation and the next could use to bring back things to how they were.
It WOULD be a struggle, and it WOULD take longer than probably just one person’s lifetime, but I firmly believe it’s a much more realistic undertaking than actual communist revolution.
I believe in sustainable capitalism, I believe it’s realistic and achievable, but just like literally any other economic system, it can be torn down with enough money, power, and patience. The difference is that once it is, it can be realigned much more easily, which is the main reason I like it.

“That’s so dumb that you’re trying to help psychotic people with training and studied understanding. Didn’t you know you can just shoot them? It’s not like they’re people anymore.”
Definitely the mindset of someone that failed to process the fact that “The Punisher” isn’t the good guy.

My favorite part of that is that as a species we actively took many of those plants and HELPED them spread and grow because we enjoyed their deterrent so much.
There’s a lot of awful things humans do to the environment, but one thing I kinda love is when something thrives specifically because humans said “I like this one”
One of my favorite fun facts is the fact that the Avacado should absolutely be a dead species by now, as the only creature that could adequately spread it’s seeds, the Giant Sloth, went extinct ages ago. But thanks to ancient peoples in Mexico finding it and liking its taste, it continues to survive and thrive.
"Isn't it weird that [thing humans commonly eat] is poisonous to literally every domesticated animal" I mean, there's a pretty good chance that [thing humans commonly eat] is at least mildly poisonous to humans, too. One of our quirks as a species is that we think our food is bland if it doesn't have enough poison in it.

I’ve thought about this further and I’d like to clarify even more on what I mean by masculinity and femininity not being determined by gender or sex.
Essentially, Masculinity and Femininity exist on a spectrum. And the PEAKS of those two qualities are not at the two ends, but rather in the center parallels of each side.
So the ideal masculine that I’m talking anout is not someone with NO femininity, it is someone with a fair amount. Because that would be the ideal person to someone who finds masculinity attractive, and as well it would be someone who would be an ideal example to others about how to properly balance their nature.
Also, again, gender and sex and what have you have no bearing on someone’s place in this spectrum whatsoever
I think I’ve been on here long enough, so it’s about time I talk to y’all about my Grand Theory of Masculinity.
Yes that is what I call it.
Foreword: I’m a millennial, I’m about thirty years old and if there’s one thing that genuinely makes me think “god I hate the new generation” it’s all this bullshit Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson shit about how to be a “real man.” I absolutely despise this narrative that being a man is all about only caring about yourself and forcing others down to build yourself up. I see it corrupting more and more young men every day and I truly dread the point in time that it takes hold enough to bring back toxic masculine fathers and grandfathers and RUINS an entirely new generation of kids.
So I decided to sit down and think about why it bothers me so much. I’m of the belief you can’t reasonably say you disagree with something unless you have some kind of reason or alternative solution. Thus, I’ve boiled down what *I* consider to be the true essence of “what makes you a man”
To start off with, I don’t believe that you need a certain set of genitals to be considered a “real man”, which is why I put such an emphasis on the word “masculinity.” I believe that sorting people according to exclusively their genitals or their preferred identity is a bit archaic, but I DO believe you can sort anyone, regardless or pronouns or genitalia, into specific definitions of masculine or feminine traits and behaviors. I believe in defining those things as two sides of a whole, like a yin-yang, and that it shouldn’t compromise someone’s identity in any way just for displaying or taking pride in those traits.
So, here’s my big definition. Are ya ready?
Safety.
Masculinity, TRUE masculinity, I believe, is defined as when someone has a certain aura that makes you feel safe or protected when you’re around that person.
Now a lot of you that are attracted to masculinity might be disagreeing saying stuff like “oh but I like dangerous men” or “no I like it when someone feels a bit scary” but attraction, which is a totally different aspect that’s specific to you. Even then, the VAST majority of people that say they like “dangerous men” typically mean “I like it when men are dangerous and threatening but treat me with love and care” and THATS SAFETY, BRO.
I believe that the true concept of masculinity has been corrupted overtime by the machinations of insecure and weak men trying to convince others that they’re actually what people want in a man. All the signs are there.
A man should be strong to help you feel protected.
“WELL IM GONNA GET ALL BUFF WITH BIG MUSCLES SO THAT NO ONE WANTS TO MESS WITH ME”
but you also have to show you CAN protect them.
“WELL IM GONNA FREAK OUT AND TRY TO FIGHT EVERYONE THAT LOOKS AT ME WRONG SO NO ONE WOULD MESS WITH ME”
A man should be able to provide for his family so they feel safe and comfortable in their lifestyle.
“WELL IM GONNA WEAR A SUIT AND CONSTANTLY BRAG ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY I MAKE SO THAT EVERYONE THINKS IM RICH”
you know you actually have to give them attention as well though, right? You can’t JUST provide a paycheck.
“WHATEVER, ILL GET A COOL CAR AND IF THEY GET ANNOYED ABOUT ME NOT SPENDING TIME WITH EM ILL JUST GET A NEW GIRL, ILL TALK ABOUT HOW THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY ANYWAY!”
A man should be able to be confident in his decisions so that the people around him feel secure and more confident in their own choices.
“OKAY SO WHAT IM GONNA DO IS WALK AROUND AND TELL EVERYONE ELSE TO FUCK OFF AND SAY I DONT CARE ABOUT THEM! THAT WAY PEOPLE WILL BE FOOLED INTO THINKING IM CONFIDENT WHEN IM ACTUALLY DEPERATELY CRAVING THEIR APPROVAL”
When I try think of the most MASCULINE MAN MAN I can possibly think of, you know what the image that comes to mind is? A dad. A slightly overweight dad with a blue collar job and a beard who works his ass off to provide for his family and then comes home exhausted and still finds the time to play a game of catch or wrestle with his kids. I believe that image to be the absolute peak of masculinity.
I truly believe that when people have an attraction to men or women or nonbinaries, they seek certain aspects of masculine or feminine behavior. I believe that when people are attracted to masculine qualities, if you boil down the very core essence of what makes them happy with a masculine partner, you’re going to get “they make me feel safe.”
Again, I’m not saying this is something you need to care about at all or should use to define your gender. This is just my analysis boiling down what I think went wrong which led to this bullshit idea that a real man needs to walk around and demean others and ignore his family and only care about himself while disregarding everyone around him.
I think if we use this one little core tenant as the base idea of what to consider “masculinity”, it could really help the men, women, and nb’s that are seeking a goal or ideal to strive for in what kind of person they want to be.
Sorry for the long post but, TL;DR:
Masculinity is when you make someone feel safe in your presence. NOT when you ignore or demean others around you in an attempt to look bigger.
So Fuck off, sigma bitches

WORKING CLASS COMPENDIUM:
TANK
Although not as fast or skillful as other class types, their true strength lies in their unflappable demeanor. This is the person you want on your front lines, dealing with customers, front and center with a smile and a greeting.
The Tank is invaluable for any team, because they help pull the attention away from the other members which helps to mitigate damage to the team overall and increase efficiency.
Tank’s tend to be very hard working and self reliant, but this can also be a downside because they have a tendency to overwork themselves without direction. Since they rarely show their damage outwardly, it can build up pretty high, and it may be too late by the time you notice.
Remember, a tank is strong but they are by no means invincible. Even the most unmovable tank will crumble to dust if they aren’t given proper support from their allies.
TANK SUBCLASSES:
Paladin
Customer service personified. Your smile is your shield and your soothing voice is your sword.
Paladin’s excel at dealing with difficult or unruly customers. Their ability to put customers at ease is unparalleled, and they make the workplace a much easier place to be. Thanks to this, they can also effectively step in to break up conflicts between customers, team members, and other unexpected enemy types when they need to.
Bonus skill: Soothing Aura
Your presence offers a bonus to passive regeneration for all members of your team.
Warrior
You’re here to do a job and by the gods you’re going to do it. It may not be glamorous, but it’s honest work.
The Warrior is notable for how unspecialized it is. Although still classified as a tank due to their high resilience, the Warrior is equally comfortable serving as a DPS if necessary. Warrior’s may come across as simple at first, but their straightforward methods can often prove to be the most effective.
Bonus skill: no passive abilities, but receives a +1 to efficiency, strength, and speed.
Black Knight
You’ve mastered the art of not giving a fuck. It’s not because you don’t care, it’s just because it doesn’t actually matter.
The Black Knight is the most unconventional tank subclass by far. Their smile may never quite reach their eyes, but the fire smoldering behind those eyes is what makes them so effective. Black Knights have managed to channel all their deep rooted cynicism and rage into pure efficiency. They take almost no damage from customer interaction. Even the bad ones.
Bonus skill: Just a Scratch
Black Knights are so good at shrugging off damage, their allies take less too!

I think Helldivers 2 is pretty much definitively proving that there’s nothing these modern generations want more desperately than to feel unionized under a singular cause.
Honestly if Armageddon were to happen at this point (not the pansy one where all the good little Christians get to rapture up safely to heaven before it ends, but the OG one where everyone has to pick a side and fight a final war against hell) I think the modern generations would absolutely destroy hell’s ass.
