Why do we divide science fiction and fantasy as two separate genres? With sci fi you can dream up technology so advanced it seems like magic.

You don’t need to break the laws of physics or anything. Science gets pretty wild. You can fuck around with ecology and biology and create planets with crazy organisms. You can mix genetics and planetology and create different human species that evolved to adapt in different planets. You can even use classical mechanics and chemistry to create magic systems by messing with your planets gravity and composition.
